I am selling my 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. It is a running and driving truck in pretty good shape. I've had it over a year and put around 10,000 miles on it. Here are some specifics that the buyer should know. The previous owner was a car guy and he did a lot of stuff to it. First thing is the exhaust is pretty new from the manifolds back, it is the stock exhaust but no catalitic converter. He said all the emissions equipment was removed from the engine to boost the efficiency etc. I never had a problem with inspection due to the collector car inspection that all cars 20 years or older are qualified for, basically they check to make sure your odometer works and you pass, 25+ years do not require inspection at all. The engine currently runs rough, and will knock a bit for like 10 seconds when you first start it up when its cold, it also smokes from burning oil...it should probably be rebuilt, but like i said it runs and drives. Ive never had any issues with the transmission. The 4x4 works great, and was awesome in the snow, both axils are limited slip. There is a slight noise in the rear passenger side wheel, i think it sounds like a bearing...it has sounded the same for the time i have had the Jeep. It has the switch for 4x4 high and a lever for 4x4 low, both work well. As you can see, the woodgrain looks good, it is not faded. The jeep is finished in a satin black finish, looks decent. There is some rust on each lower quarter behind the rear wheels as you can see in the photos, the frame and the gas tank holder is rusty too, i took some pictures of that. Some damage to the passenger side fender and grill around the headlights. The passenger side rear door has a slight dent where it opened all the way cause the pin for the door stop is missing and it opened further than it should have, easy fix. The tailgate window works, it was repaired by the previous owner but it only opens from the dashboard switch, not the keyhole in the back. The driver and passenger front windows work good, the rear windows are slow from lack of use, they will be fine with some lubrication. Clear NJ title in my name.

Jeep dealer buries WWII Willys GP in showroom floor
Tue, 04 Nov 2014The Willys MB Jeep earned icon status during World War II thanks to its ruggedness, simplicity and go-anywhere ability. Following the war, it didn't take long for the handy vehicles to be scooped up by the public, and a brand slowly grew around the vehicles that has continued to thrive. Fast-forward to present day, where it's not uncommon for auto dealers to try to grab some of the magic of yesteryear by displaying classic models to connect customers with their brands' proud histories. Now, a Canadian Chrysler Group dealer is taking that notion to the extreme by actually making a vintage WWII Jeep part of its foundation.
Bay King Chrysler in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, recently completed its new showroom, and the franchise really wanted to show its dedication to the Jeep brand. As dealer principal Jamie Richter tells Autoblog, the inspiration for the Jeep installation came from his brother, who became fascinated with a home that had a glass floor looking down into its wine cellar. The company already had the 1943 Willys MB to display, but it had originally planned to build a jungle gym around it for customers' kids. Now, the classic is literally in the floor as customers enter. Richter tells Autoblog that customer reaction so far has been "fantastic."
It's certainly a novel way to bring people into the showroom, and seemingly a nice nod not only to Jeep, but to the men and women who served in the war. If you want to see more about how the Jeep was actually installed and what it looks like, check out this video.
Jeep Wrangler Dragon Edition coming to North America
Thu, 12 Sep 2013If 2012 was the year of the dragon in China, perhaps the US can claim 2014. After showing the Jeep Wrangler Dragon Design Concept at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show, and apparently receiving "tremendously positive feedback" from Jeep enthusiasts across the globe, the automaker has decided to introduce a production version that will hit US showrooms this fall with a price of $36,095.
"The dragon symbolizes strength and power and is an aspirational character normally associated with royalty and good fortune," says Jeep, and that apparently equates to a blacked-out Wrangler Unlimited with bronze satin gloss highlights inside and out, along with big dragon decals that start on the hood and run down the fenders. There are 18-inch matte black wheels with a bronze outer edges, and a dragon-emblazoned spare tire cover completes the look.
We suggest you peruse the high-res image gallery above to see all the black and bronze detailing yourself, and make special note of the interior. In related news, all 2014 Jeep Wrangler models get an optional Trail Kit and clear park lamps to replace the previous amber units. New colors include Amp'd, Anvil, Copperhead, Flame Red, Granite Crystal and Hydro Blue (Freedom edition only), which join carryover colors Billet Silver, Bright White, Black and Dune.
You probably won't see FCA's famous Easter eggs on an Alfa Romeo
Thu, Nov 17 2016They started in Jeeps, with images of seven-slot grilles showing up on windshield edges, the text "SINCE 1941" appearing in the clear plastic of headlight units, and a relief map of Moab engraved into a rubber cubby liner. Then a Chrysler got a map of Detroit and the outline of Laguna Seca materialized near the Viper's window switch. We've come to call them Easter eggs, but Klaus Busse points out that they were never really meant to be secrets, just ways to dress up what he calls "dead plastic." He's nevertheless cool with the phrase being applied and likes the enthusiastic response these design details get. Busse is intimately familiar with many of them, having signed off on many of them in his time as head interior designer for FCA's US operations. He recently moved to Europe to lead Alfa Romeo, Maserati, and Fiat design there, so when I caught up with him next to the new Stelvio crossover at the Alfa stand in LA, I had to ask: Are we going to see any of those neat design details in Alfas or Maseratis anytime soon? The short answer is no. But he didn't say it's out of the question. Busse said if, for example, a designer wanted to put an Italian phrase somewhere on a car that was in keeping with the brand, he would allow it. Although he didn't come out and say it, it seems like he might feel this type of fun design element isn't necessarily appropriate for a higher-end brand like Alfa. And I get that. But I'm still going to check all the compartments of that new Alfa crossover for a map of the Stelvio Pass.
