1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer on 2040-cars
McFall, Missouri, United States
I drive this jeep almost everyday to feed horses, fishing, hunting and im not ever worried that it wont get me home. having said that the motor is weak, I think its a carb problem but im no mechanic. if it sits for more than a week or so without being started it takes awhile to get gas pumped up to carb so I know theres a problem there. but it always starts. it has some lifter noise at idle but seems to clear up off idle. 4wd drive works as it should. A/C does NOT work ive never tried to charge it as I don't ever drive it to far. it needs tires I have 1 like new tire that will go with it if you want. Im not sure wether the cruise works or not, not sure ive ever tried to use it. both frnt pwr windows work, slowly, but they work. rear gate window switch is not wired properly. it took me 6months to figure out 2 wires by battery raise and lower rear window. so the window itself works flawlessly. rtrear pass window works so slowly its scary to use it so I don't ltrear pass window doesn't work, I don't know if its wiring or motor or what..i never cared. im trying to think if im missing something important?? if I am please ask I will answer best and honest as I can. need more pics?? ask and I will try my best...im not very computer or digital camera savvy, but I will make an effort.....maybe I should mention...previous owner painted this jeep im not sure of orig color. they did a decent job on the paint and a fair at best job on the masking...from 5 or 10 ft away it looks real nice but you get closer you can see some minor flaws.. roof paint goes without saying is beginning to peel see photo. almost forgot the battery is newer..less than 3 mo old I originally bought it for my son... he had to have it...he has since moved on and I just don't have a big need to pay for insurance and plates and taxes on a toy. its a 25 y/o vehicle and it has flaws but IMO a lot fewer flaws than most its age winning bidder or anyone is welcome and encouraged to come check it out anytime during the auction and if youre the winner and you come to pick it up and don't like what you see then walk away no hard feelings as I said I drive this almost every day so mileage will be slightly higher... I would be shocked if it got to 117,000 before auction end.. I maybe drive it 3 miles a day maybe 12 or 15 if it needs gas |

2015 Easter Jeep Safari Concepts First Drive
Wed, Apr 8 2015Imagine if once a year your grandmother made a chocolate cake. Not a chocolate cake, that chocolate cake. Blow-your-mind chocolate cake. But she won't ever let you have any – you can only have the spatula and whatever's left over in the mixing bowl. And you don't care. You look forward to that spatula and bowl every year because – "Gadzooks!" – that is some stupendous cake. For us, that cake is the Easter Jeep Safari. An annual pilgrimage to Moab, Utah for a taste of what Fiat-Chrysler's off-road brand has cooked up in its Design Dome. "No, you can't have any," the company tells us, "but you can taste it here, then dream about it until next Easter." In Detroit, Jeep gave us a close look at the seven concepts it built for this year's 49th annual event. Then it went a step further and took those show cars to Mill Canyon, UT, to crawl the red rocks in Jeep's natural habitat. After all, the company calls Moab, "Our home away from home." And it's not true that we never get more than a taste of Jeep's conceptual goodness – 2011's JK8 pickup conversion kit is a slice of Safari creation we can now take home, for instance, as are the hood decals that adorned two of the concepts we drove this year. Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, told us that the evolution of Jeep Performance Parts came from listening to journalists and customers in his first year on the job in 2010. So there's that. But still, we want more cake. Like a full-on production Wrangler Africa. These being one-of-a-kind prototypes traipsing through a canyon of nearly immovable objects, we didn't go fast, we didn't go far, we didn't push hard. But we did drive all the Easter Jeeps, and even just this small taste was outstanding. View 30 Photos Jeep Chief While we listened attentively to the detailed spiels on all this conceptual candy, one question ran through our minds: "How am I going to get in the Chief before everyone else?" And we could see the same thought every colleague's face, those scheming bastards. And why not? The Ocean Blue tribute to the venerable Cherokee of old grabbed everyone's attention since the first teaser images weeks before the event, in part because the vintage truck is up there with mermaids for rarity and lustworthiness. Anything that goes this far in obeisance to that classic Jeep is always going to score huge marks. The Chief is a four-door Wrangler underneath, but in many ways it feels nothing like a Wrangler.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalls nearly 750k vehicles in two campaigns
Thu, 16 Oct 2014Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling a total of 747,817 vehicles in the US in two separate campaigns recently added to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration database.
The first one covers about 434,581 units of the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Challenger, Durango, and Jeep Grand Cherokee from the 2011-2014 model years with electric hydraulic power steering, the 3.6-liter V6 engine and a 160 amp alternator, according to FCA. In the affected vehicles, it's possible for the alternator to fail without warning and possibly cause the car to stall. According to the documentation submitted to NHTSA, the automaker began investigating the problem in August 2014 and has found possible evidence of one crash caused by the failures but no known injuries.
Customers will begin receiving notification about the recall next month, and obviously the repairs will be done at no cost to them.
