The body is in good condition.  It does have several dings and a few dents and scratches.  The body is rust free and the frame is in good shape.  The transmission was rebuilt a few thousand miles ago.  It has 4 tires with less than 10,000 miles on them.  The battery is about 18 months old.  The interior is in good shape.  The driver side seat does have a tear in it.  The power seats work.  The power windows work.  The rear tailgate glass works.  The power locks don't always work properly.  I checked it on Carfax when I bought it and it hasn't been in any accidents.  The lower sections of both passenger side doors were repainted while it was still in Arizona.  I don't know what happened, maybe someone rubbed the them against something.  I replaced all the door seals a couple of years ago.  The driver side door needs to be adjusted, as it will leak when you are washing it.  I have a cover for it, which will be included.  The clear coat is coming off in several areas.  The hood ornament is broken off, but I have the broken piece and will include it.

It had been a great truck.  I was driving it the other day, when I lost oil pressure and got a terrible clattering from under the hood.  My mechanic is telling me the engine needs to be rebuilt, which I just don't have the money for at this time.  I'd rather see the truck go to someone that can use it, then having it go to the scrap yard and be crushed.

The truck is from Arizona originally.  It was purchased by a guy in Maryland about 8 years ago and I bought it from him 6-7 years ago.

The vehicle is being sold AS IS.  It is to be considered non-running, although the engine will turn over and it will move (I'm not recommending this and I won't be moving it any further).   If you have access to an engine, everything else you need is right here.

I will not ship the vehicle.  You will need to pick it up no later then August 10, 2014.  I require a $500 deposit via PayPal within 48 hours of auction close.  If you don't send the deposit within 48 hours, I will re-list and report you to eBay.  Any remaining balance will be due in cash when you pick up the truck.

If you have any questions,  please contact me.  I will try to have an answer back to you as soon as possible.

Finding surfing spots in the UK is tough work, even in a Jeep

Sun, 06 Jul 2014

You truly have to love surfing to practice the sport in the United Kingdom. The area isn't exactly teeming with warm beaches full of sunbathers, and absolutely no easy spots to find big waves. To be a UK surfer, you need to be a fearless adventurer, not to mention quite lucky. And driving a Jeep might help, too.
Surfers Oli Adams and Micah Lester are traveling around the British Isles in a Jeep Wrangler Overland trying to find the best surf spots out there. These guys don't fit the laid-back surfer stereotype, but that's because finding waves in the UK is hard work. They say that the waves at some of these spots only exist for about three hours every year when the current and winds are just right.
To find these surf spots, the Jeep's offroad capabilities are paramount. In some areas, as you'll see in the video, there isn't even a beach, just jagged rocks. It would be like the movie Endless Summer, that is, if it could start snowing at any moment. These guys are clearly dedicated to their sport.

Toledo gets proactive in fight to keep Jeep Wrangler

Wed, 08 Oct 2014

Let's make this very plain - the city of Toledo, OH loves its Jeeps. It loves them so fervently that the very rumor of the Jeep Wrangler moving out of its traditional home prompted the city's mayor, D. Michael Collins, and Ohio Gov. John Kasich to hold a weekend conference call with Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne.
"The purpose of this call was for the mayor and governor to gain clarity on Mr. Marchionne's comments last week regarding the possibility of the next generation of Jeep Wrangler being built at a location other than the Toledo North Assembly Plant," a spokesman for the mayor's office told The Toledo Blade.
While no further commitments were made by any party, Collins and Kasich's statement was quite unequivocal about keeping Toledo's unwillingness to let the Wrangler go, saying "the city and its partners will again rise to the occasion to ensure that the new Wrangler is made in Toledo." According to the newspaper, the next step is for face-to-face meetings between officials from Ohio and FCA.

Stellantis announces ‘Circular Economy’ business to drive revenue, decarbonization

Tue, Oct 11 2022

Stellantis has already announced its plans to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2038. Today, the automaker has announced a new business unit to help it reach that goal while generating 2 billion euros per year in revenue by 2030. The “Circular Economy” business will help make revenue less dependent on finite, rare and ecologically problematic materials. The Circular Economy model features what Stellantis calls a “4R” strategy, comprising remanufacturing, repair, reuse and recycling. The goal is to make materials last as long as they can, reducing reliance on the acquisition of those precious new materials in the future by returning them to the business loop when theyÂ’ve reached the end of their first life. Through these processes, Stellantis says it can save up to 80% raw material and 50% energy compared to manufacturing a new part. Remanufacturing, or “reman” in Stellantis shorthand, means dismantling, cleaning and rebuilding parts to OEM spec. Nearly 12,000 remanufactured parts are available for customers to purchase. Some remanufacturing is done in-house, and some with partners and through joint ventures. Repair is pretty obvious — fixing parts to put back into vehicles. This also consists of reconditioning, to make a vehicle feel like new. Stellantis boasts 21 “e-repair” centers for repairing electric vehicle batteries.  Reuse refers to parts still in good condition from end-of-life vehicles sold as-is. Stellantis says it has 4.5 million multi-brand parts in inventory. These are sold in 155 countries through the B-Parts e-commerce platform. Reuse also refers second-life options, such as using batteries outside of automotive purposes. Recycling involves dismantling parts and scraps back into raw material form that is then looped back into the manufacturing process. Stellantis says it has collected 1 million parts for recycling in the past six months. Recycling doesnÂ’t get counted in that aforementioned 2 billion euros of revenue, but it does save the company money on acquisition of raw materials. As for batteries, specifically, Stellantis expects this recycling business to ramp up after 2030, when the packs currently in service begin to reach the end of their lifecycle. Stellantis will use its new “SUSTAINera” label to denote parts that are offered as part of its Circular Economy business.
