1985 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Yes, it runs.  This is a project vehicle that I do not have the time or money to finish.  I have a lot of money in parts that hopefully you can use for your project, or finish mine.

Clear Colorado Title.

Remanufactured AMC 360 V-8 with Edelbrock Performer Intake, Cam and Lifters.  Megasquirt TBI.  I will include the laptop I use to program the fuel injection.  The TBI is a GM Throttle body from a 454, the wiring harness is for the Megasquirt kit, the sensors are all GM.  MSD 6 Ignition with Distributor, Blaster 2 Coil, and 7.5mm Heli-Coil Wires.

The engine is leaking a bit from sitting, probably needs a new rear main seal.

Rebuilt TF727 transmission with TCI heavy duty towing kit.

Converted to NP208 transfer case including the correct drive shafts and shifter.

Manual front hubs.

Dana 44 Front, AMC 20 Rear.  Detroit E-Z Lockers front and rear.  These are great off-road, but for a daily driver I recommend switching to selectable lockers.

4" Skyjacker Softride lift including shocks and drop pitman arm.

Factory wheels, factory size tires (265/45 R15) that need to be replaced.

The body is in need of a lot of work, this is where my project went south.  The floors are solid, but the rockers and fenders need to be replaced.  I was starting to strip off the wood grain in preparation for the body work when things ground to a halt.

The Interior is in fair shape.  The dash is cracked, but all of the pieces are present.  I have a set of newly re-finished leather seats including a third row rear seat that are included with the sale.  The seats cost over $2500, so it's like getting the rest of the Jeep for free.

Pick-up in Grand Junction, CO is free.  Delivery costs $2.50 a mile.

Federal investigations about safety of rear-mounted gas tanks is nothing new

Sun, 09 Jun 2013

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Chrysler are currently making waves in our daily news feeds due to a disagreement over the safety of a few million Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee models. Specifically, NHTSA has asked Chrysler to recall the SUVs because of the location of their fuel tanks, but you may be interested to know that requests such as this are nothing new.
Besides the two Jeep models, NHTSA has launched investigations over the years in such models as the Ford Crown Victoria (and its police-car counterpart), GM pickups built between 1972 and 1987, and rather famously the Ford Pinto.
Understanding how automakers and NHTSA have dealt with fuel-tank-safety concerns in the past may offer a better understanding of how Chrysler and the government agency will settle their current dispute. Check out the complete article from The Detroit News here.

Fiat Chrysler to get $105M fine from NHTSA for recall woes

Sun, Jul 26 2015

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is about to send a powerful message to automakers doing business in the United States, assuming reports of an upcoming $105 million fine against Fiat Chrysler Automobiles comes to fruition. In addition to the record-setting monetary fine, according to The Wall Street Journal, FCA will have to accept an independent auditor that will monitor the company's recall and safety processes and will be forced to buy back certain recalled vehicles. In other cases, such as with Jeep Grand Cherokee and Liberty models with gas tanks that could potentially catch fire in certain types of accidents, FCA will offer financial encouragement for owners to get their recall work done or to trade those older vehicles in on new cars, according to the report. FCA could reportedly reduce its fines if it meets certain conditions, though those remain unclear at this time. These actions against FCA are being taken after NHTSA began a probe into the automaker over almost two dozen separate instances where the government claims FCA failed to follow proper procedures for recalls and safety defects. Included in those safety lapses are more than 11 million vehicles currently in customer hands. These penalties and fines are separate from the investigation over security problems with Chrysler's Uconnect system that allowed hackers to obtain remote access into key vehicle systems in 1.4 million vehicles. Jeep Renegade signed by the Rolling Stones brings in $46k for charity

Thu, Jan 1 2015

What do Jeep and the Rolling Stones have in common? Well, they've both have been around for longer than most of us, they seem just about indestructible, and not long after one shipped out from America to help save Britain, the other lead the British Invasion of America. But the two enduring icons also came together this past summer as one sponsored the other's European tour. And while they were in Rome, Jeep had the members of the legendary rock group sign a new Renegade that just went up for auction. Bearing the signatures of the immortal Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts, this star-studded, pint-sized off-roader – the first Jeep to be built in Italy – sold for an impressive $46,000 to an anonymous bidder. That's about two-and-a-half times what the new pebble-crawler is expected to sell for when it reaches showrooms. Proceeds from the sale, handled by Charitybuzz.com, will benefit Community Links, a social-inclusion organization based in London. View 56 Photos
