Here is an absolutely drop dead gorgeous 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer in very original condition

inside and out. This Jeep was bought new on 11-2-1989 at Joe Kerley Jeep in San Jose, CA and

has lived its entire life in San Jose. This is one of the cleanest Wagoneer's I have ever seen and has

been extremely well preserved and always garaged.

The Jeep has all new original color coded dark cherry metallic paint, new orginal decals and

trim, and beautiful original interior. The mileage is documented by the CARFAX as 77,000

original miles this is a 2 owner car with a clean and clear title with current tags in California

It just passed smog in January of this year. ABSOLUTELY NO RUST!!! Also included is the

original window sticker which is over $30k in 1990/ all owner's manuals and jeep records. This

jeep is well documented.

Don't miss your chance to own one of the most original Grand Wagoneers around...BID NOW!!

**The following is a list of options as this Jeep is currently equipped:

The body on the Jeep is totally solid and rust free. I have inspected the body and cannot find

a single spot of rust or repair patches whatsoever. The paint on the car is all original and finished

in gorgeous and rare Dark Cherry Metallic. The paint is literally as nice as the day it rolled off

the lot. The rubber seals are all in very nice shape and the jeep seals up perfect. The bumpers were just high

 polished and look like new!

The interior is in great shape all around. The tan leather seats are all in very good shape and

look great. The headliner and visors were just beautifully redone and look excellent. All dials

and controls function as they should and are illuminated at night. The dashboard is in excellent

shape with no cracks(please see pictures). Original carpet is excellent with no rips or ware. All

door panels and wood grain are excellent. The jeep also has its original JEEP rear cargo pull out

mats which are in great shape! The original cassette player still sounds great but all 4 speakers

have been replaced with new high end components.

Mechanically, this Wagoneer runs GREAT! The car starts right up and shifts quite easily.

The 5.9L engine has been fully tuned up with oil change and runs like a top! The 4x4 system

functions perfectly. The engine compartment was fully detailed and cleaned. It is ALL

ORIGINAL under the hood, and I didn't want to take away from the originality by doing any

painting or unnecessary upgrades. The jeep is tight as a drum and doesn't leak a drop of anything.

It also has its factory jacking equipment. The jeep just had nearly $4000 worth of work done new

carburetor, new hoses, all fluids changed, and full tune up including coil and new ignition switch.

All in all, this is one of the cleanest and most original Jeeps that I have had the privilege of

being associated with. It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous

owners. I have restored 2 of these Jeep Wagoneers. This Grand Wagoneer is a fantastic

example and will be the envy of any true Jeep lover! Any further questions please call:

FCA's shifter fiasco proves novel gear selectors are a bad idea

Tue, Feb 9 2016

What's wrong with PRNDL? Why are automakers trying to overly complicate the simple task of selecting gears? If there's any lesson to learn from the recent news that NHTSA is investigating 853,000 Fiat Chrysler vehicles over its problematic gear selectors, it's that the trend of fancy shifters needs to stop. Now. Last year, NHTSA opened an investigation into Jeep Grand Cherokee models, and has now expanded this probe to include the 2012-14 Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger. The problem? The shifter – assembled by ZF – is confusing for many drivers. "Testing ... indicates that operation of the (electronic) shifter is not intuitive and provides poor tactile and visual feedback to the driver, increasing the potential for unintended gear selection," a NHTSA document states. More than 100 crashes and over a dozen injuries are linked to this problem, according to The Detroit Free Press. To us, the problem isn't just limited to FCA. These unnecessarily novel gear selectors are spreading like wildfire across the industry. Honda and Acura use a weird pushbutton setup. Lincolns have buttons on the dashboard. Jaguar's shifter electronically raises out of the center console. Mercedes uses a stalk with up-for-Reverse, down-for-Drive, push-for-Neutral arrangement. And what the hell is BMW thinking with its M cars? FCA has since abandoned the confusing shifters in question. The 300, Charger, and Grand Cherokee now use the rotary shift dial that's quickly proliferating across the company's brands. Simplistic gear selectors might not be sexy, but no one ever complained about not being able to find the right gear in a Hyundai Sonata. What's most interesting is that this NHTSA investigation could push FCA – and possibly other automakers – to redesign vehicle functions that otherwise operate as designed. Just because most people will never have a problem putting a Dodge Charger in Reverse doesn't mean there isn't a flaw with the design. But perhaps a more simplistic solution – good ol' PRNDL – would have prevented these issues from the start. Lexus gets top brand marks from Consumer Reports; Ford, Jeep hit hard

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

Consumer Reports has released its 2014 Car Brand Report Cards, with Lexus again reigning at the top and doing so with the same industry-topping score of 79 that it registered in last year's Report Cards. This year, the institute credited its lineup for being "usually quiet, comfortable, and fuel-efficient," noting it's the only brand on the list "to achieve an excellent average overall reliability score." The Car Brand Report Cars list is meant to rank the best all-around vehicles based on CR testing and reliability results tallied by subscribers it surveyed. Each brand included must have sufficient test and reliability data for at least three models, a standard which left out 11 marques including Fiat, Jaguar, Land Rover and Porsche.
This 2014 Brand Report Cars edition is the first of a new format in which sub-brands have been broken out from their parent brands, with Acura using this year to move up the leaderboard into second place with a score of 75 for its "reliable, well-finished and somewhat sporty models." The top three was rounded out by Audi, climbing from eighth to third by scoring a 74 for "well-crafted interiors, nice handling and good gas mileage." Audi scored highest in the road-test portion, its improved reliability aiding its rise. The top nine was completed by Subaru, Toyota, Mazda, Honda, Infiniti and Mercedes-Benz.
Ford and Jeep weighed in at the other end of the rankings, Jeep taking the lowest overall score in the road tests and hampered by "a mix of spotty reliability." Ford was sunk by reliability issues with its MyFord Touch infotainment system which consumers found troublesome enough to negate its cars earning "solid test scores" for being "very nice to drive." Perhaps the rumored switch from Microsoft to Blackberry's QNX for the next generation SYNC will help them out. Cadillac's score also took a hit for infotainment reasons after it was the leading US brand last year, the CUE system in the XTS dragging Cadillac to the bottom of all General Motors brands.

Key-swapping thieves steal Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT from FL dealer

Sat, 09 Nov 2013

Just a few weeks back, we reported on the theft of an Audi RS5 by a pair of creative thieves who managed to swipe the car's keys when the salesperson stepped away from their desk. Now, a Florida dealership is missing a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 after some crooks switched the Jeep's keys with an identical, non-functioning set.
According to the report from local NBC affiliate WPTV, the men went in and spoke to a dealer about the Jeep. They walked outside, took a look at it, started it up and in the process managed to switch out the fobs. After doing their time with the salesperson, the thieves walked back out to the car, got in and drove away.
"I mean obviously, the way it was done, I think that they were professionals and they knew what they were doing," said Arrigo Jeep General Manager Joe Tufo. "The fact that they did it in broad daylight and switched the key fob and it was like it was nothing. That's what makes it unique," he added.
