Introducing the American legend with the 21st century drivability.

This is not your average jeep. It is a custom build by a Master Craftsman. This Jeep was built to be the baddest Jeep on the planet by combining race track performance with superior off road capability. Build was completed in 2010 and Jeep was a "trailer queen" show jeep for the past four years. Only 1850 miles on this engine since the build.  This Jeep started out as an 88 wrangler renegade. It's grill and headlights have been converted to a CJ. The suspension was converted from leaf to coil over (JK).

Engine is a bowtie 383 stroker with a bowtie aluminum heads custom built engine was built for the race team owner Glenn Clements. (Owner NASCAR 51) Jeremy Clements Nationwide series. I looked at several hemi jeeps before purchasing this one and they can't hold a candle to the on/off road performance of this Jeep.

This motor was incredibly expensive coming from a master builder. Check them out. I can't add to their reputation. Compared to cost of jeep, motor became minor

The cost of the motor build became relevant to the cost of labor for the year to complete the build

I wiped off all leaf springs and converted to full coil spring suspension to JK Rubicon specs, to build and produce and obtain incredible drive ability, and I must say it is fun and safe at any speed

All metal is original metal, no aftermarket metal at all!

Specs heckler paint system on jeep, chrome orange to electric pearl red, to black cherry with a silver allusion on base coat.

Painted frame, cleaned interior of frame with long wand and steam jenny, then sand blasted. All frame was submerged in P.O.R. primer, followed by 8 coats of Imron train paint.

Look at most Chevy powered jeeps and you will see a common automatic transmission (very easy)

Or NV 4500 popular with rock crawlers, it has a granny gear, or the AMC 4 speed uses a 3/4 " dia, but if you drop the clutch with more than 250 ish horsepower it snaps the main. In the Chevy the old Muncie was good up to about 380 h.p. but good shifting. In this build a super T-10 by Richmond it's a real street or strip choice, but it's not for 4 wd it's a long trans, but I bought a new standard super T-10 and had my contact swap the tail section for an atlas clock ring and ordered a 100% billet steel CNC main that's 1 1/4 " in dia. Rated at 1250 lb. of tork, and is less than 1/2 as long as the stock, &merging into an atlas transfer case also 1250 lb. of tork rating, 1350 U joint's, (dooly size)

A 2.77 1st 2.20 2nd 1.50 3rd1 to 1, 4th quick shift kit. A racing 4 speed and 4 WD. I have never seen another one.

We give you a list of 80% of cool name brands, briefly discussed drive train, paint, suspension, but the real value was in the master craftsman of build. It takes a very grounded expert with vast knowledge and experience in the area of Hot Rod's, Classic's, Collectables, understanding the quality on eccentric levels to recognize a master piece by another master craftsman.

There are so many things and so much to list; I can't possibly list it all.

The build of this jeep exceeded $120,000

Crawling Moab in the 2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk [w/video]

Thu, Apr 9 2015

The funny thing about the Renegade Trailhawk is that Jeep still feels the need to defend it. For the past 20 years, automakers have sent emissary vehicles outside the citadel walls surrounding their brand niche. In doing so, these companies found buyers eager to join the cult instead of an angry horde. With the kingdom successfully expanded, automakers had to build new walls to contain this broader identity. This is the story of Jeep's modern expansion, growing with new models while the faithful at the brand's center howl at every quest into broader market segments. Thirteen years after it busted out the Liberty and eight years after birthing the Compass and Patriot, you'd think the resistance to new Jeeps would subside. But no. It's 2015, and while nobody makes the slightest tantrum over BMW's new minivan (except for Sniff Petrol), the Renegade still has to fight its way through pitchforks and torches. Which is a long way of saying that this author is guilty of brand prejudice, too. When the company told us that we'd spend the first day of the Easter Jeep Safari driving seven awesome concepts and the second day driving the Renegade Trailhawk on Dome Point Trail, we could only think, "They giveth excitement, and they taketh it away." Our pessimism was later proven to be incorrect. Sharing the sentiment our colleague Brandon Turkus expressed after his Quick Spin, we found the Renegade to be "in a word, impressive." Dome Point will not trouble a kitted-out Wrangler, but in a compact SUV with on-road tires the rocky sections were chunky enough to require close attention to your lines or use a spotter. As instructed, we put the little 4x4 into the Selec-Terrain's Rock mode, and with common sense plus one eye on the man directing us with hand signals the Renegade climbed over everything with some wheelspin but little fuss. At the first rest point, we turned the car off to wait for vehicles behind. Not realizing that this resets the drive mode to Auto, we crawled through the next two rocky jumbles in the default setting. The result was the same: a bit of wheelspin climbing over thick steps, but an altogether drama-free passage. Auto mode can't use the engine throttle maps unique to each Selec-Terrain setting, but it doesn't hamper the Renegade's capability by much. On a steep bit of trail with a crest capped by stacked stone plinths, it took three tries to find the right line, but that's on us – the Renegade did more than expected.

Toledo continues fight for Jeep Wrangler production, despite mayor's death

Thu, Feb 19 2015

Where will the next-generation Jeep Wrangler be built? That's an open question, but it's one that the city of Toledo, OH desperately wants to be the answer to. The city suffered a major blow, though, with the death of Mayor Michael Collins earlier this month. Collins had been the city's biggest champion during talks with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, before suffering a fatal heart attack on Feb. 6. But Collins' tragic death isn't dampening the city's desire to carry on as the home of the Wrangler. "The mayor's passing is tragic. But on Monday, when I came to work, I knew exactly what I needed to do and exactly what needed to be done," the city's director of development, Matt Sapara, told the Detroit Free Press. According to the Freep, Sapara said Toledo and the state of Ohio have delivered an outline of a development plan that would give FCA the ability to buy an extra 100 acres to expand the factory. This is to help accommodate FCA's targeted output of 300,000 to 350,000 next-generation Wranglers, up from the 240,000 the factory can make now. "Our target in the proposal is to provide a way to increase the production capacity to a number that allows Fiat Chrysler to meet its business model," Sapara told the Freep, adding that the land could be available later this summer. FCA, meanwhile, has shown a somewhat ambivalent attitude towards Toledo production, with CEO Sergio Marchionne openly discussing the pros and cons of continuing to build the Wrangler south of the Michigan border. "We are going to take a very hard look at this without ignoring what these guys have done," Marchionne told the Free Press at last month's Detroit Auto Show, adding that he'd like to keep production there, provided the cost of retooling is comparable to relocating to another facility. 2015 Jeep Renegade to start at $17,995, Trailhawk rings up at $25,995

Thu, Jan 22 2015

Prices for the 2015 Jeep Renegade have leaked onto a enthusiast forum ahead of the official embargo on pricing and driving impressions, which breaks at 12:01 AM Friday. They come from a video interview with Jeep CEO Mike Manley, that was allegedly set live accidentally. It's since been pulled down. At this point, it's unclear if the listed prices include any destination charges, so they could climb slightly higher or lower. In its most basic form, the two-wheel-drive Renegade Sport will go on sale for just $17,995. For that price, you get, um, not a lot. Really. The entry level Renegade doesn't even offer standard air conditioning – it's part of a package that includes heated power mirrors and cruise control. The $21,295 Latitude adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, standard 16-inch wheels, air conditioning, five-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, a six-speaker stereo and USB connectivity. The top-end Renegade Limited, meanwhile, starts at $24,795 and makes standard items of the heated, powered leather seats, dual-zone climate control, seven-inch TFT display in the instrument cluster, auto-dimming mirror and 18-inch wheels. The Limited also adds a number of aesthetic tweaks that spruce up the Renegade's exterior, including brightwork around the grille, mirror caps, taillights and roof rails. The above prices, of course, are only for the front-drive Renegade. Add $2,000 to the above prices for all-wheel drive. You won't need to add that to the all-wheel-drive-only Trailhawk, which starts at $25,995 and comes with a slew of off-road features, including a bespoke front and rear fascia, with the former sporting the world's most adorable pair of red tow hooks. Mechanically, there's an exclusive version of the brand's Active Drive all-wheel-drive system that includes a 20-to-one crawl ratio and a dedicated Rock mode for the Selec-Terrain system and 17-inch wheels. The cabin, meanwhile, is home to Ruby Red accents. While we have basic trim prices, we're still without more specific details, including the cost of marquee options like the My Sky roof, as well as the plethora of options packages that will be available when the CUV arrives in dealers. We'll have our full review of the all-new Renegade available when the embargo on driving impressions breaks Friday. In the meantime, let us know what you think of these prices. Are they where you expected them to be? Higher? Lower? Have your say in Comments. Related Video:
