1978 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade Levi edition. All original, only 36,000 miles. Was used as a plow vehicle in Pa up until 2000 when it was brought to NY and used to put boats in the water. Was last registered in 2009. I put a new solenoid and fuel pump in it and it fired right up. Fuel gauge and temp gauge work. Clutch is 5 years old. Has the straight 6 232 engine and T-18 4 speed with the 6.32-1 granny low first gear and Dana 20 transfer case. Runs and drives but needs a total restoration. Tub is very rusty. it will need extensive repair. A new tub is probably the best option. Frame seems solid. Doors are in nice shape with no rust. Power steering and power brakes. Seats are original Levi but unfortunately mice got to them. Tailgate is nice as is the tire carrier. Levi dash pad also appears to be nice shape. Comes with an original soft top and doors that isn't in the greatest condition. Hard top is crack free but the rear gate has some rust. I have two replacement fenders and a hood I can include if desired. This is an original Renegade with a desirable drive train and Levi interior that is worthy of a restoration. Four Wheeler crowns Ultimate Factory 4x4... who wins?
Thu, 15 Nov 2012Nearly every automaker doing business in the SUV or pickup truck segments offers a package designed to improve the off-road capabilities of its wares. But, of course, not all such factory kits are created equal. How, then, to separate the wheat from the chaff? Gather each of them up and put them through their paces, naturally.
The folks from Four Wheeler and PickupTrucks.com joined forces to run just such a comparison test, with the winner named the Ultimate Factory 4x4. A total of seven vehicles showed up to the fight: the 2012 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, 2012 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X and Xterra PRO-4X, 2012 Ram Power Wagon, and 2012 Toyota 4Runner Trail and Tacoma TRD T|X Baja Series.
With the contestants in place, the whole crew put each vehicle through a battery of tests that included skidpad and acceleration measurements, a hillclimb, a rocky stairstep course and a rock garden. Considering the nature of the beasts, on-road ride and comfort were not part of the routine.

Jeep Wrangler Copper Crawler is our idea of a restrained Mopar shopping spree
Thu, 07 Nov 2013According to a recent report, the Jeep Wrangler is the most popular SUV for customization, and this is backed up by the fact that the iconic off-roader was just named the Hottest 4x4-SUV at SEMA for the fourth year in a row. Looking for ways to keep its customers in-house rather than going aftermarket, Jeep and Mopar are always teaming to offer exciting new parts and pieces for the JK Wrangler.
Compared to most other Wranglers on display at SEMA - as well as other Chrysler Mopar SEMA concepts - the Jeep Wrangler Copper Crawler is surprisingly reserved, but should be no less exciting for owners to give their Wrangler a distinctive look. Starting off with an eye-catching copper paint scheme, the Jeep then goes on a Mopar catalog shopping spree with its matte black grille, black beadlock wheels, two-inch lift, Rubicon bumper (with a winch and aero end caps up front) and rocker panel and taillight guards.
Jeep also upgraded the Wrangler's transfer case for low-speed rock crawling (hence the vehicle's name) and cold-air intake for extra measure.
