Loaded 2001 JEEP Grand Cherokee Limited SUV 4x4 with power everything including power windows, mirrors and door locks, power sunroof, alarm system with automatic key, wood grained interior trim package with leather bucket seats (with butt warmers) and leather fold-down rear bench seat, V-8 engine with automatic transmission, two station air conditioning, AM/FM multi-disk changer sound system, tinted side and rear windows, luggage rack, spare and jack, carpeted rear storage areas and retractable vinyl security cover. Only used the 4x4 transmission option once to get un-stuck from some mud and it worked great. This JEEP is a smooth ride and as solid as a tank. No dents or rust, just some minor scratches here and there, normal for its age. Those are the good things.

Now, for the bad: The automatic transmission slips and makes a grinding noise something awful, but not all the time and I've been informed it's a tranny pump issue. There's a missing hub cap cover, there's a small worn tear on the driver's leather seat, one seat's butt warmer does not work, passenger AC control is not working (no big deal), needs tires and shocks, rear lift hatch needs new lifters. Has over 200K miles but still looks and runs good (with the exception of the current transmission issue). Please note: the personal contents shown in some of the photos are not included with the sale of this jeep.

We have no need for a 4x4 SUV and wish to down-size our ride. If you're in the market for an SUV and have always wanted a JEEP, now's your chance to get one cheap, even after some transmission work. Call me at 904 343-2711 and make arrangements to come see it before it's gone.

China-FCA merger could be a win-win for everyone but politicians

Tue, Aug 15 2017

NEW YORK — Fiat Chrysler boss Sergio Marchionne has said the car industry needs to come together, cut costs and stop incinerating capital. So far, his words have mostly fallen on deaf ears among competitors in Europe and North America. But it appears Marchionne has finally found a receptive audience — in China. FCA shares soared Monday after trade publication Automotive News reported the $18 billion Italian-American conglomerate controlled by the Agnelli family rebuffed a takeover from an unidentified carmaker from the Chinese mainland. As ugly as the politics of such a combination may appear at first blush, a transaction could stack up industrially, and perhaps even financially. A Sino-U.S.-European merger would create the first truly global auto group. That could push consolidation to the next level elsewhere. Moreover, China is the world's top market for the SUVs that Jeep effectively invented, so it might benefit FCA financially. A combo would certainly help upgrade the domestic manufacturer; Chinese carmakers have gotten better at making cars, but struggle to build global brands, and they need to develop export markets. Though frivolous overseas shopping excursions by Chinese enterprises are being reined in by Beijing, acquisitions that support the modernization and transformation of strategic industries still receive support, and the government considers the automotive industry to be strategic. A purchase of FCA by Guangzhou Automobile, Great Wall or Dongfeng Motors would probably get the same stamp of approval ChemChina was given for its $43 billion takeover of Syngenta. What's standing in the way? Apart from price (Automotive News said FCA's board deemed the offer insufficient) there's the not-insignificant matter of politics. Even as FCA shares soared, President Donald Trump interrupted his vacation to instruct the U.S. Trade Representative to look into whether to investigate China's trade policies on intellectual property. Seeing storied Detroit brands like Jeep, Chrysler, Ram and Dodge handed off to a Chinese company would provoke howls among Trump's economic-nationalist supporters. It might not play well in Italy, either, to see Alfa Romeo and Maserati answering to Wuhan instead of Turin — though Automotive News said they might be spun off separately. Yet, as Morgan Stanley observes, "cars don't ship across oceans easily," and political considerations increasingly demand local manufacture of valuable products.

Jeep launches new ad with unreleased Michael Jackson track

Fri, 09 May 2014

We've recently heard much about how Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne plans to pump up the volume on Jeep sales, inaugurating new models and global dealerships. But that's the stuff outlined in five-year plans; right now, advertising and special editions are at the fore, and the late Michael Jackson, too. Jeep has begun airing two commercials to push its Altitude Editions, Call of Summer and Lovers of the Game, that feature the song "Love Never Felt So Good" from Jackson's upcoming album of new music.
A little more star power - and timely, too - comes from Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving. While Call of Summer features a few short shots of the former Rookie of the Year and two-time NBA All-Star, Lovers of the Game is all about his white Wrangler Altitude Edition and wrangling shots. You can watch both spots below, and if you want to hear the rest of the music track before the album hits, you can download it from iTunes.
