I drive this almost everyday."

Started out as a 1991 Comanche Eliminator 4x4 short bed, which is a rare find by itself. This is a California truck with absolutely no RUST. This is the first year of the high output motor, better cooling system, better EFI system, etc...SPECS: 1997+ front end.Desert tan (Almond satin) paint job(looks great), no clear coat, easy touch up for brush scratches. body is striaght. 4.0ho engine from 1994 cherokee with 140,000. motor runs great, I use Rotella t6 oil. the instrument cluster was replaced 2 times by previous owners( due to mechanical issues with the tachometer, which I fixed). so the exact mileage is hard to determine, but from what the previous owners have stated, the jeep should be around 150,000 miles, and the jeeps condition shows this as well . Has polyurethane Browndog motor mounts, 63mm throttle body(great throttle response/Low end/smog legal), flowmaster 44, new catalytic converter, mechanical coolant gauge. optima red top battery. Will pass smog. Clutch was replaced when engine was replaced. still feels like new. ax-15 5 speed that works great. np231 transfer case, no issues.HP Dana 30 (abs model/thicker shafts) with lower control arm skids, raised sway bar mounts, NEW polyurethane upper control arm bushings, NEW 4.88s gears. open diff.Dana 44 rear raised shock mounts, NEW 4.88s with limited slip, ruffstuff cover. Hannemann fiberglass front fenders and bedsides.roll on bed liner in good shape. 36x12.5x15 super swamper radial tsl's with less than 500miles on them. 15x10 black steel rims. $1600 new, and they are basicly still new. Sleeved tie rod, steering is fairly tight(drives GOOD AT 65). Steering box brace.Rustys long arms. pro-comp shocks-mid level. 6-7" Rusty's springs. Extended-brake lines, spring over in rear with longer shackle, not sure if oem leafs or not. JKS sway bar disconnects. I actually run without a sway bar around town as it is pretty stable with out one.Big drop pitman arm. Corbeau GT-7 seats, pretty nice for a jeep. nice deck, crappy speakers. New carpet kit and insulation. Bed liner material on center console, I like it. No headliner. Brakes have a ton of life left.Nice custom rear bumper with receiver. I have a TON of time and money into this thing. it needs nothing and turns heads and recieves thumbs up every time i drive it. Selling due to being unemployed and needing to sell the toys.. I have MANY pictures of this thing. let me know what you want pictures of. You will never see another truck like this anywhere. I am a mechanic by trade, and I have kept up on maintenance very well, ALL fluids have been changed recently. This truck was not beat on, just mainly a errand truck for around town and I took it out to a off-road park a couple times to check the suspension. . I would really like to keep the truck, but the bills are piling up.

FCA and UAW deal could mean huge production shakeups

Thu, Sep 17 2015

The big labor contract between Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the United Auto Workers is likely to lead to some very serious production shakeups across the company's North American manufacturing operations. That's according to a new report from Automotive News, which details the sweeping changes at no fewer than five production facilities in Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Mexico, and Poland. So without further ado, here's what's going where, presented in easy to digest bullet form. Ram 1500 production would move from Warren, MI to Sterling Heights, MI Warren, MI would be retooled for unibody production and would handle the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and could potentially build Grand Cherokees to ease the strain on Detroit's Jefferson North factory Chrysler 200 production would move from Sterling Heights, MI to Toluca, Mexico Dodge Dart production would move from Belvidere, IL to Toluca, Mexic Fiat 500 production, which is currently handled by Toluca, would be concentrated in Poland, where the Euro-spec Cinquecento is built Jeep Cherokee production would move from Toledo, OH to Belvidere, IL to make room for Wrangler and Wrangler Pickup production Like we said, those are some big changes. But, as FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne said in an earlier interview with Automotive News, this kind of shakeup would make a lot of sense. In that August interview the exec said that automakers moved truck production to Mexico because they were "threatened" by the UAW. "The only thing [the UAW] want is to move the truck back. Which is right. If you move the truck back here, which is [the UAW's] domain, [and move] all the cars that we get killed on somewhere else, we could actually make sense of this bloody industry and actually increase the number of people employed in this country and really share wealth because we are making money," Marchionne told AN. 2015 Jeep Renegade Sport 4x4 Quick Spin [w/video]

Tue, Jun 23 2015

Which is the most entertaining Jeep Renegade you can get? While one might make an argument for the Trailhawk model and its accompanying off-road hardware and consequential go-anywhere ability, that car comes with one glaring flaw – its 2.4-liter engine and nine-speed automatic transmission just aren't very entertaining. Instead, I submit the turbocharged, 1.4-liter base engine and its accompanying six-speed manual, a position that was reinforced after a recent stint behind the wheel of a very basic Sport 4x4. Not only do you get a fair amount of the Trailhawk's off-road ability – the Selec-Terrain system and a 4WD Lock mode are standard, but you'll be without the 20:1 crawl ratio and Rock off-road mode – you'll also enjoy a more dynamically interesting powertrain. Read on to see why the force-induced Renegade might just be the way to go. Driving Notes My first date with the Renegade was on the mostly empty, winding roads of northern California. There, the 1.4-liter turbocharged inline-four with 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque felt fine – with no traffic and few stoplights along the drive route, it was easy to keep the engine on boil. But this engine isn't as enjoyable in day-to-day suburban traffic. Power arrives suddenly – peak torque comes between 2,500 and 4,000 rpm – and if you don't use it, you lose it. There's not much oomph in the higher end of the rev range. With such a peaky powerband, it's easy to get caught flat-footed if you're not paying attention. Thankfully the manual transmission makes it simple to stay engaged and in the correct gear. The stick-shift is enjoyable to use, with a firm clutch that's easy to modulate and shift action that isn't sloppy or vague. The 1.4-liter engine sounds good. Turn down the stereo, stomp on the throttle, and you'll be treated to a delicious turbo whistle and a smooth exhaust note. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I want Mopar to offer the Fiat 500 Abarth's exhaust on the Renegade. It'd be fun. If you do prefer the stereo, know that the Renegade's standard four-speaker unit is weak. Base models don't offer Bluetooth or satellite radio, but you can add both of those luxuries, two extra speakers, and a five-inch touchscreen for just $695. Not a bad bargain. The Koni frequency selective dampers do an excellent job of managing both small, frequent imperfections (like freeway expansion joints), and the bigger potholes that still haven't been fixed after the havoc of Detroit's winter.
