2000 JEEP CHEROKEE SPORT 4X4

CRAGAR GLOSS BLACK WHEELS

1-OWNER, 41K ORIGINAL MILES

FOREST GREEN METALLIC

NO RESERVE!!

This is the one you’ve been waiting for:

- 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4x4, 1-owner with only 41k original miles in excellent condition.

- Forest Green Metallic exterior is complemented perfectly by the gloss black Cragar wheels and Cragar chrome center caps along with the dark black trim around the vehicle. The Jeep really looks great in person.

- If you’re looking at this auction you already know how reliable these Cherokees are. They simply don’t make vehicles like this anymore. This XJ Cherokee with the 4.0L motor is going to go down in history as one of the most reliable 4x4 SUVs ever produced.

- 1-Owner, accident-free Carfax report is provided at the end of the auction.

- Please take your time. I’ve included a lot of high-definition pictures of the Cherokee so please allow enough time for everything to load.

- XJ Cherokee Sport is a modern classic.

- 4.0L Inline 6 cylinder is bullet proof. You will see 300K+ miles with this motor. No heating issues and great oil pressure. With only 41k miles, this Cherokee is going to last the next owner a lifetime.

- Automatic transmission shifts smoothly through all gears.

- 4x4 system engages smoothly in high and low gears. No driveline noise.

- Brakes, exhaust and suspension are all excellent.

- Aftermarket kill-switch alarm! That is the switch that is pictured next to the hood release; turn it on, take the key with you and no one can steal the vehicle!

- Power windows, mirrors, locks all operate 100%.

- Forest Green Metallic exterior looks awesome. Very straight. No clear coat blemishes. A few chips around the vehicle, and the driver side glass rubber trim is missing in two minor spots (as seen in the photos). These may not be seen in the photos, but we want to be as thorough and fair as possible and provide as much information to all potential bidders. Overall, the Cherokee looks a few years old tops and the exterior really shines beautifully.

- Exterior is very straight. Black trim is solid black and looks great, NOT FADED BY THE SUN!!

- Green exterior goes perfectly with the solid black trim and the gloss black Cragar wheels with matching chrome center caps. Really great eye appeal.

- Interior is gray cloth and is in great shape. No rips, tears or stains in the seats or carpets. Headliner looks great as well. There is a small, repaired crack in the center console dash bezel (right below the center a/c vents). Otherwise, the dash is in great shape and shines beautifully.

- NON-SMOKER VEHICLE. No burns or any odor in the truck.

- Tow hitch and luggage-rack equipped!!

- Factory Jeep radio. Audio sounds great.

- A/C blows cold and heat blows hot.

- Rust-free!!! Body and undercarraige are in amazing condition. Take a look at the underbody pictures, frame and undercarriage/suspension components are extremely clean. It’s hard to find SUVs just a few years old without considerable rust issues. And it’s nearly impossible to find low-mileage XJ Cherokees that aren’t rusted out. This is a very rare find!!

- This has to be the nicest, lowest-mileage, 1-owner XJ Cherokee on the market and the ONLY ONE BEING SOLD AT NO RESERVE!!

- These XJ Cherokees are getting harder to find, this is a perfect reliable driver for someone to enjoy for years to come.

- Pick up the Cherokee and drive it cross-country with no issues.

- A 1-owner vehicle is very important. The original owner paid full sticker price for this vehicle and maintained his vehicle accordingly to protect his investment.

- It’s a great time to buy a 4x4. In a few months, prices will be significantly higher with increased demand heading into winter.

- This is really a rare find: 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4x4, 1-owner with only 41k original miles in excellent condition with the bulletproof 4.0L inline-6 motor, Cragar wheels, forest green metallic exterior and being sold at NO RESERVE!!

Key-swapping thieves steal Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT from FL dealer

Sat, 09 Nov 2013

Just a few weeks back, we reported on the theft of an Audi RS5 by a pair of creative thieves who managed to swipe the car's keys when the salesperson stepped away from their desk. Now, a Florida dealership is missing a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 after some crooks switched the Jeep's keys with an identical, non-functioning set.
According to the report from local NBC affiliate WPTV, the men went in and spoke to a dealer about the Jeep. They walked outside, took a look at it, started it up and in the process managed to switch out the fobs. After doing their time with the salesperson, the thieves walked back out to the car, got in and drove away.
"I mean obviously, the way it was done, I think that they were professionals and they knew what they were doing," said Arrigo Jeep General Manager Joe Tufo. "The fact that they did it in broad daylight and switched the key fob and it was like it was nothing. That's what makes it unique," he added.

Bring back the Bronco! Trademarks we hope are actually (someday) future car names

Tue, Mar 17 2015

Trademark filings are the tea leaves of the auto industry. Read them carefully – and interpret them correctly – and you might be previewing an automaker's future product plans. Yes, they're routinely filed to maintain the rights to an iconic name. And sometimes they're only for toys and clothing. But not always. Sometimes, the truth is right in front of us. The trademark is required because a company actually wants to use the name on a new car. With that in mind, here's a list of intriguing trademark filings we want to see go from paperwork to production reality. Trademark: Bronco Company: Ford Previous Use: The Bronco was a long-running SUV that lived from 1966-1996. It's one of America's original SUVs and was responsible for the increased popularity of the segment. Still, it's best known as O.J. Simpson's would-be getaway car. We think: The Bronco was an icon. Everyone seems to want a Wrangler-fighter – Ford used to have a good one. Enough time has passed that the O.J. police chase isn't the immediate image conjured by the Bronco anymore. Even if we're doing a wish list in no particular order, the Bronco still finds its way to the top. For now (unfortunately), it's just federal paperwork. Rumors on this one can get especially heated. The official word from a Ford spokesman is: "Companies renew trademark filings to maintain ownership and control of the mark, even if it is not currently used. Ford values the iconic Bronco name and history." Trademarks: Aviator, AV8R Company: Ford Previous Use: The Aviator was one of the shortest-run Lincolns ever, lasting for the 2003-2005 model years. It never found the sales success of the Ford Explorer, with which it shared a platform. We Think: The Aviator name no longer fits with Lincoln's naming nomenclature. Too bad, it's better than any other name Lincoln currently uses, save for its former big brother, the Navigator. Perhaps we're barking up the wrong tree, though. Ford has made several customized, aviation themed-Mustangs in the past, including one called the Mustang AV8R in 2008, which had cues from the US Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter jet. It sold for $500,000 at auction, and the glass roof – which is reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit – helped Ford popularize the feature. Trademark: EcoBeast Company: Ford Previous Use: None by major carmakers.

Jeep in St. Louis hacked from Pittsburgh

Tue, Jul 21 2015

One of America's most popular vehicles contains a security flaw that allows hackers to remotely commandeer it from anywhere on the planet. Cyber-security researchers Chris Valasek and Charlie Miller say they've accessed critical vehicle controls on a 2014 Jeep Cherokee that allowed them to remotely control critical vehicle functions like braking, transmission function, and steering. Automakers have downplayed the possibility a car could be remotely compromised, but the significance of the findings detailed Tuesday could cause them to reevaluate the threats posed to hundreds of thousands of vehicles already on the road. A key finding – the pair needed no physical access to the Jeep to pull off the attack. Valasek and Miller accessed the controls via a security hole in the Sprint cellular connection to Chrysler's UConnect infotainment system. In the course of their research, Valasek sat in his Pittsburgh home and remotely manipulated Miller's Jeep as he drove along a highway outside St. Louis. If you know a car's IP address, they say, a hacker could control it from anywhere. "We didn't add anything, didn't touch it," Valasek told Autoblog. "A customer could drive one of these things off a lot, and they'd have no clue it had these open attack surfaces." Remotely, he disabled brakes, turned the radio volume up, engaged windshield wipers and tampered with the transmission. Further, they could conduct surveillance on the Jeep, measuring its speed and tracking its whereabouts. They conducted the experiments over multiple breaches. They made their findings public on the same day the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the federal agency in charge of vehicle safety, released its latest report on the readiness of government and automakers to fend off these sorts of cyber attacks. Later today, two US Senators are expected to introduce legislation that would help consumers better understand the potential risks of car hacking. In the early stages of their research, Valasek and Miller found a security flaw in the car's wi-fi that allowed them to remotely manipulate controls from a range of about three feet. But in recent months, they found another vulnerability in the Sprint cellular connection in the UConnect system. That was a key breakthrough. "Lo and behold, we found we could communicate with this thing using cellular, and then more research, and 'Holy cow,' we're using the Sprint network to communicate with these vehicles," Valasek said.
