66k Actual Miles 1990 Jeep Cherokee Limited Sport Utility 4-door 4.0l on 2040-cars
Grand Junction, Colorado, United States
Selling no reserve. This was until just after thanksgiving one of the nicest 1990 cherokee's in the country. We are the second owners. During the first major Colorado snowstorm we hit some black ice, slid off the road and struck a light pole. I spent unlimited funds making this jeep as close to perfect as possible. Everything worked down to the power antenna, the original stereo, ABS system, and AC. I listed it for sale and it sold on Ebay several months ago to a bum bidder who stiffed me on payment, so we kept on driving it. So if it looks familiar, that is the reason. This was absolutely beautiful and completely rust free. I will include some before pics. We only had liability since it rarely ever left the garage, hind sight is a mother. The title is clean, there was no insurance claim. Even after the accident, it has been stored indoors. There doesn't appear to be any frame damage and the engine was running after the impact, we actually drove it to a near by overpass. There is coolant leaking and the airbox is destroyed. My family will never get in this Jeep again after my brutal miscalculation of how slick the roads were that night. If it were up to me, I'd spend all the money to put it back the way it was but my dreams were squashed by the boss. There are priceless hard to find parts on this jeep if that's all your after. The entire headliner and interior are in unbelievable condition. All my friends were blown away when they had seen the condition of the leather. Never been smoked in, ever. All the glass is in tact, not sure how that happened but its all there. From what I can see is both front fenders, flares, inner wheel housing on the drivers side and hood will need replaced, the entire core support and radiator, most likely the fan and housing, the air box, front bumper, grill and misc front end odds and ends. Like I'd mentioned, we drove it after the impact. I'm sure there will be many questions, please feel free to ask and I'll try to answer them the best I can. The Yakima Basket on the luggage rack is NOT included in the sale. NO Reserve, high bidder takes it. As a true Jeep fanatic, I really hope someone puts humpty back together again.

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee pricing leaks out
Thu, 24 Jan 2013With our deep dive and auto show coverage of the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee revealed at the Detroit Auto Show, we brought you as much information as Chrysler would allow us to, but one thing we're still left in the dark about was the pricing. It would seem that Jeep Garage might have the answer for that. The Jeep enthusiast forum claims to have gotten its hands on the ordering and pricing breakdown for the updated Grand Cherokee, and while a Jeep representative has yet to get back to us as to the validity of the site's claim, these preliminary numbers look pretty kosher to us.
In base form, the two-wheel-drive Laredo will reportedly start at $28,795, which is a $1,100 increase over the 2013 model year, and the new Grand Cherokee Summit trim level starts at $47,995 for 4x2 models and $50,995 for the 4x4. Waiting for the new diesel engine? The torquey new 3.0-liter oil-burner will be a $4,500 option on Limited, Overland and Summit 4x4 models, but 4x2 pricing (and availability) are not known. As for the range-topping Grand Cherokee SRT (no longer called the SRT8), this added performance could run you an extra $2,700 with a new starting price of $62,995. More importantly, loaded to the gills with all available options, the 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT will top out at around $72,400 - or around $6,000 more than a fully loaded 2013 GC SRT8.
We'll let you know if the gang over at Jeep get back to us with any confirmation, but until then, head over to Jeep Garage to see the pricing details it has listed.
FCA fibbed on sales according to internal report
Mon, Jul 25 2016Following last week's news that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is under investigation by the Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission for allegedly fudging sales figures, a new report in Automotive News says an internal investigation at FCA uncovered misreported sales. According to the AN story, 5,000 to 6,000 vehicles from various FCA brands were reported sold by dealers, but no customers existed for those cars. FCA sales chief Reid Bigland has already put a stop to the practice. One potential reason for the practice was to maintain the company's month-to-month sales increase streak, currently at 75 months. In April, FCA added a lengthy disclaimer to its sales announcements: "FCA US reported vehicle sales represent sales of its vehicles to retail and fleet customers, as well as limited deliveries of vehicles to its officers, directors, employees and retirees. Sales from dealers to customers are reported to FCA US by dealers as sales are made on an ongoing basis through a new vehicle delivery reporting system that then compiles the reported data as of the end of each month. "Sales through dealers do not necessarily correspond to reported revenues, which are based on the sale and delivery of vehicles to the dealers. In certain limited circumstances where sales are made directly by FCA US, such sales are reported through its management reporting system." FCA did not provide comment to Automotive News. NHTSA closes investigation on 4.7M FCA power modules, no recall
Thu, Jul 30 2015FCA US hasn't had the best time with recalls as of late. Not only did the company recently agree to greater safety oversight and paid $105 million to the government, that came just days after hacking fears prompted a 1.4-million model recall campaign. However, a recent decision to close an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration means that the automaker doesn't have to worry about another major recall possibly affecting 4.7 million vehicles, according to the agency's report (as a PDF). Last September, the Center for Auto Safety petitioned NHTSA to investigate an alleged problem with the totally integrated power module (TIPM) on these FCA US models. The group claimed that a fault with the component could cause a variety of maladies, including stalls, not starting, catching fire, unintended acceleration, and airbag non-deployment. At the time, it also submitted 70 cases where this had reportedly happened. According to NHTSA, "no valid evidence was presented in support of claims related to airbag non-deployment, unintended acceleration, or fire resulting from TIPM faults and these claims were found to be wholly without merit based on review of the field data and design of the relevant systems and components." The agency did find signs of an issue with the fuel pump relay in some Jeep Grand Cherokees and Dodge Durangos, but FCA US issued recalls for the problem in September 2014 and February 2015. Without anything else to go on, the Feds don't think it's worth investigating this topic any more.
