2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4x4 NO RESERVE!!

You are looking at a VERY nice example of a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport. The perfect compromise of on/off-road capability, low maintenance cost, "bulletproof" reliability, and good looks. I've owned this vehicle since 2010 and have loved every minute of it. The only reason I'm selling is because we have too many cars and this one doesn't get the attention it deserves.

If you are looking for a well-maintained, excellent running start for a radical off-road project, or just looking for a very capable daily driver, you are looking at the right auction.

Let's start with the positives:

  • Low Miles: Just over 105k (Still driven occasionally so it will be between 105k and 106k), less than 9k per year
  • Nicely factory optioned including power doors, windows, cruise, AC (Needs Charged), Automatic Transmission, cloth interior, roof rack, flat folding rear cargo area, full size spare looks like it's never been used
  • Lightly customized including 2" lift kit, oversized wheels and tires (New 11/2011), upgraded headlights and heavy wattage wiring (from dim sealed beams to ULTRA BRIGHT 100W H4 11/2010), Tinted Glass, In-channel Weathertech Vent Visors, Keyless entry with remote start (11/2010), heavy-duty Bilstein Shocks (11/2011), brand new brake rotors, calipers, and drums (11-12/2011), driver's hood latch replaced, BRAND NEW Driver's power-window regulator mechanism -- Receipts available for upgrades, and most maintenance.
  • Maintenance: Since i've owned it has only had FULL synthetic oil changes (most recently 09/2013), Cooling system and Radiator flush/fill (12/2012), Transmission service flush and fill (12/2012).
  • Sale includes an extra full set of used LT 235 75 "15 BF Goodrich T/A KO tires mounted on American Racing aluminum wheels. (Excellent spares, see photo)
  • Vehicle starts and drives like a champ, runs smoothly and needs nothing to be driven daily. Automatic shifts smoothy, brakes well, heater works well.
  • Watch a video of me starting up and walking around here: http://s871.photobucket.com/user/MagicMack/media/PB090030_zps95e619e5.mp4.html (if the link doesn't work please copy and paste into your browser)
  • I have attached a Kelley Blue Book Private Party valuation screen shot (see photo) of the vehicle in only FAIR condition showing $6096.00, but I feel that with the upgrades and extras it is worth even more. My starting price is 33% less than in even fair condition.

Negatives that I know about:

  • Small split in the side vinyl of the driver's seat - does not go through to the padding, only the vinyl (see photo)
  • Salt-stained carpeting at the driver's position - Common for Northeastern Ohio but not horrible
  • Liftgate pistons get weak when it's cold - Available on Amazon for under $18.00 each
  • Small amount of corrosion (see photos) - Nothing horrible, and I believe repairable - in common areas - above windshield, near rear side glass, bottoms of doors
  • Small hole in the plastic interior trim around the liftgate - Broke a small piece off while loading a sod-cutter I rented into the back - Available from Jeep for $68.54
  • Normal scratches, dings etc...(see photos), but in excellent condition for being 12+ years old
  • Decals on rear glass and sticker are high-quality vinyl and can be easily removed without leaving a residue.
  •

Vehicle being sold as-is no warranty implied or provided.
I've done my VERY best to describe the vehicle and both its positives and negatives. If there is something I haven't addressed, or you would like a photo of please reach out via the Contact Seller link and I'll be happy to oblige. If you would like to see the vehicle in person and/or take a test drive, please send me a message so we can set up a time/place that works for both of us. I'm in Cuyahoga Falls, and will only accept cash, or a cashiers check for final payment. Please notice that the vehicle is for sale locally, and the auction could end at any time. No trades will be accepted. I have the clear title in-hand and ready for sale.

2015 Jeep Renegade brings the cute

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

The jig is up, the noose is out, we finally found it: the Renegade that Jeep has made, retrieved for a bounty.
Okay, enough of that. Meet the Renegade - Jeep's cute little compact crossover that makes its official debut here at the Geneva Motor Show. We recently brought you a massive Deep Dive into what makes the Renegade tick, and we're now getting our first live look at the tiny Jeep, live from its coming out party in Switzerland.
With the exception of associate editor Jonathon Ramsey, who doesn't know what he's talking about, we at Autoblog are kind of smitten with the little Jeep - it's a really unique package, featuring details that really make it kind of special (notice that jerry can pattern in the taillights, for example). Jeep will offer the Renegade with either a 1.4-liter turbo-four (from the Fiat 500L) or a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four (from the Dodge Dart), with either a six-speed manual transmission or a nine-speed automatic. There will even be a Trailhawk version with four-wheel drive - properly trail-rated, to boot. The Renegade also features a nifty new My Sky removable roof panel system, giving this little cutie sort of a baby Wrangler feel.

Chrysler expecting up to 200,000 9-speed transmissions for 3 models this year

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

Striving for improved fuel economy, we already knew that Chrysler will begin using a nine-speed automatic transmission in some of its new products this year, but what we haven't known is that volume at which this gearbox will be used. According to Bloomberg, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has been quoted as saying that the automaker expects to sell close to 200,000 units equipped with this new transmission in 2013. Those gear-rich trannies will be spread out across three models, consisting of the redesigned Chrysler 200, the still-unnamed Jeep Liberty replacement and the Dodge Dart.
This transmission should play a pivotal role in making Chrysler vehicles more competitive in their respective segments. Just for comparison, one of the Dart's key competitors, the Toyota Corolla, still uses a four-speed automatic, and a previous report indicates that the next-generation 200 could get up to 38 miles per gallon on the highway, which is better than most non-hybrid midsize sedans on the market. Marchionne says that the new Jeep model is expected during the second quarter of this year, but there is no word as to when the new 200 or nine-speed Dart will debut, but clearly Dodge would like to have the transmission in its compact yesterday. As for that volume figure, it definitely doesn't seem out of reach since the Dart, Liberty and 200 combined for a total of more than 225,000 units in 2012.
How many more gears can we expect in future cars? Probably not many more, since the CEO of transmission-builder ZF, Stefan Sommer, previously stated that nine speeds was the "natural limit" for transmissions.

2020 Land Rover Defender vs. 2020 Jeep Wrangler: How they compare on paper

Tue, Sep 10 2019

For ages, the Jeep Wrangler has had the serious off-road SUV market in America all to itself, especially when it comes to two-door variants. But competition is coming, and the first on its way is the 2020 Land Rover Defender, which was just revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Each packages retro looks and impressive off-road capability, but does one have an advantage? We decided to take a look into each SUV's specifications and compare them on their engines, drivetrains, interior space and towing among other things, to see how they stack up. Since both SUVs are offered in two-door and four-door versions, we've made sure to feature both versions. You can find all the vital stats in the chart below, followed by more in-depth analysis. Engines and drivetrains The Land Rover is the clear high-performance option of these two SUVs. Its base turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, offered only in the four-door Defender 110, is more powerful than either of the gas engines offered on the Jeep Wrangler. The Wrangler's four-cylinder matches it on torque, at least. The optional turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six in the Defender makes over 100 more horsepower and pound-feet of torque than either Jeep gas engine. But if you're looking for diesel propulsion, along with its associated torque and fuel economy, the Wrangler will be your only option. Final specs haven't been released, but in the Ram 1500, the same engine makes 260 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy hasn't been announced for the Land Rover or the diesel Wrangler. But if fuel economy is a concern, the four-cylinder Wrangler is the most frugal of the SUVs we have numbers on. As for transmissions, the Wrangler is your only choice if you have to have a manual. It's available on both the two-door and four-door models, but only with the V6 engine. If you don't mind an automatic transmission, both SUVs come with variations on the ZF eight-speed auto. Getting the power to the wheels is another area where these two SUVs diverge. The Jeep is very traditional with a standard selectable four-wheel-drive system with two-wheel drive, and low- and high-range four-wheel drive modes. On the Sahara, there's an available full-time four-wheel drive mode, but the other modes are still available. On the Land Rover, you get full-time four-wheel drive, the same kind used on the Land Rover Range Rover.
