This is a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4X4.  It is in great shape and runs excellent.  Clean title, no accidents originally from Washington state, never seen snow, very clean underneath.  It is titled in Wisconsin now but I moved to Lancaster, PA and that is where the vehicle is.   It has the 4.0 Liter inline six engine and AW4 automatic with the New Process 231 transfer case and 3.55 gears.  Drive train works excellent, no noises or issues.  Shifts great, and the four-wheel-drive works as it should.  The heat and Air Conditioning both work well.  The interior is in good shape, It has the wood grain dash in it.  It also has an after market Alpine stereo/CD player in it that has an auxiliary cord so you can plug in your phone.  The headliner is in decent shape and is not sagging.  All the power windows, power locks, and power mirrors work.  The tires are in good shape, I would say about 70% tread left.   The roof has some chipping paint (see photos).  Other than the roof the paint is in decent shape.  The airbag light is always on and the horn doesn't work, but this does not throw any codes and the check engine light is not on.  Look at all the pictures, any questions just ask.. If you are local and want to come test drive it and look at it before you bid, I am fine with that please email me beforehand.  If you are not local and bid on it and win it and then come to pick it up and feel that it does not meet this ad or your expectations you do NOT have to buy it.  Cash in Person or Paypal works for payment.  If you cannot pick it up within 7 days after the auction ends email me first or do NOT bid. I do not want to hold this vehicle for you forever.  Look at my feedback, I am an honest seller, and I don’t want people to waste my time so I will not waste yours.

Australian Jeep marketing stunt goes awry [w/video]

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

Jeep fans in Australia are none too happy with the off-road brand following a contest that saw ten new Cherokees sold for just $10,000 Australian (about $9,400), roughly a quarter of the vehicle's price Down Under.
The contest, called the "World's Most Remote Dealership," gave Aussies the chance to snag an ultra-affordable Cherokee Longitude (analogous to the US-spec Latitude trim), provided they could get to a secret dealership in the remote wilderness of western New South Wales, near the border with the state of South Australia.
In order to get the exact location of the dealership, though, potential customers needed to download an app, which would release a phone number 9:00 AM AEST on Thursday (7:00 PM EDT, Wednesday night). The first ten people who could call in and prove they could afford to finance $10,000 and get to the remote dealership, were given the location of the remote dealership.

Car Club USA: Moab Jeep Jamboree

Thu, Jan 22 2015

Today Autoblog is excited to premiere its latest original video series, Car Club USA. Car Club USA's debut episode features the Just Jeeps club of Omaha, including a father-son duo traveling to Moab, UT to brave the treacherous trails. Brian is behind the wheel, as his father guides him through the most dangerous geographical features Moab's red desert has to offer. Joining them are Gene and Jean, an older married couple from Minnesota whose modified Jeep Wrangler – like its owners – knows no bounds. "We're in our seventies now," explained Jean. "We could be sitting at home in a rocking chair watching TV, but we'd rather do this." Also hitting the trails is Matt, a Californian who looks to pay homage to his father by exploring southern Utah in a World War II-era Jeep Willys. "This was our stomping ground," said Matt. "That's why I chose to come to Utah for my big vacation this year, in his memory, to see some of the places we used to go together, and have fun and do some Jeeping." Each Car Club USA episode features a different car club or event from across the US, where passionate owner communities gather to share automotive experiences and embark on incredible adventures. From Main Street cruises to off-road trails, catch all the latest car club activity on Autoblog. Jeep SUV Off-Road Vehicles Car Club USA Videos

Jeep idles second shift it hired a month ago for 2014 Cherokee

Tue, 24 Sep 2013

In an unusual move, Chrysler is idling its recently hired second shift of 2014 Jeep Cherokee builders because, Chrysler spokeswoman Jodi Tinson said in a statement, it already has built the "critical number of vehicles we need to stock dealerships once containment is released," Automotive News reports.
After the "critical" 9,430 Cherokees were built, the layoff was enacted so as not to strain the automaker's logistics partners before the Cherokee is actually released. Chrysler says the temporary layoff will last about two weeks, with 500 workers out of work and another 600 reassigned at the Toledo Assembly Complex where the sports utility vehicle was being built. The second-shift workers were hired on August 19.
Chrysler previously insisted that it would release the Cherokee to dealerships by the end of the third quarter, and it initially planned to start selling the SUVs in mid-August. Apparently the Cherokee needed a software fix before hitting showrooms, which is how Chrysler explains why the release schedule is out of whack. We're thinking that this software fix addresses the "powertrain calibration" issue that delayed the first media test drives of the model. According to the Toledo Blade, Chrysler has admitted it is doing "extended quality validation testing" but refused to provide more information.
