2001 Jeep Cherokee Rhd 4x4 on 2040-cars
Conklin, Michigan, United States
2001 Jeep Cherokee Factory RHD, 4x4 Four Door. Power Window, Power Locks. 189,700 miles. Re-built transmission at 177,650 miles. I have owned this Jeep since approx. 135k miles. I am the second owner. Well maintained since I have owned it and many new parts put in. When first purchased in March of 2011- Tie rods, track bar, upper and lower ball joints, right window regulator, turn signal flasher, front axle u-joints, transmission mount, rear hatch latch. 2012- Valve cover set, oil seal, shocks, e-brake cables, harmonic balancer.
2013- Transmission rebuilt at 177,650. Idler pulley. 2014- Alternator, repaired wiring in right front door that controlled all of the power windows. Front Right axle u-joint, Right and Left front wheel bearings, new drilled and slotted rotors, new calipers, and new pads. The tires have good tread of them. I also have a second set of rims. I had summer and winter tires the extra rims made it easy to switch out. There is some rust on the bottom of the doors and rocker panels but no rust through that I can see. I took it to a guy and had them sand it and put rhino liner on those parts to try to slow down the rust but that is coming off so it needs to be done again. There is some rust through on the left rear wheel well. The rest of the wheel wells are just some rust but no rust through that I can see. The passenger side door (left) armrest that goes up around the window controls is cracked. The bezel that goes around the shifter is broken. It was that way when I bought it and I have taken it apart a couple of times and re-glued it. The light works and you can see what gear your in, it just sits a little crocked. You might be able to order a new one through Jeep. To my knowledge everything else works. I always replaced things as they were needed so it should be good to go. It has an after market radio so you have a CD player. I also have a set of boards that if you take all of the passenger seats out completely, the boards go in to make the entire inside a flat surface for delivering mail. I have described this to the best of my ability. The Jeep is sold As Is Where Is. No warranty expressed or implied. No returns. Please ask all question before bidding. I will answer to the best of my ability. If you need extra pics to see something that is not already pictured please ask. I will be glad to take more pics to answer any questions you may have about the condition of this Jeep. I reserve the right to end this listing at anytime due to it being listed locally. A $500 paypal deposit is required at end of auction. The remaining balance is due within 7 days in the form of certified bank money order or cash if you are picking it up. If you need it shipped then shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer. If having it shipped, all funds will need to be cleared before it will be released for shipping. This can take 7-14 days so plan according. Thank you for looking! |

Jeep Wrangler's shift to aluminum could see production leave Toledo
Mon, 06 Oct 2014The Jeep Wrangler may be a timeless design, but sooner or later, time will run out and Chrysler will have to replace it with a newer model more friendly towards the earth it's designed to traverse. That will, it seems, mean a shift to aluminum construction (whether just for the body or for the entire structure) - but what will that mean for the Wrangler's long-time home of Toledo, OH?
According to the latest pronouncements from Fiat Chrysler chief Sergio Marchionne, the shift to an aluminum Wrangler would likely mean moving production out of Toledo. "If the solution is aluminum," Marchionne told Automotive News, "then I think unfortunately Toledo is the wrong place, the wrong setup to try and build a Wrangler, because it requires a complete reconfiguring of the assets that would be cost-prohibitive."
Marchionne also indicated that, were Wrangler production to move elsewhere, it would find another line to take its place in Ohio. "One of the thing that we are dealing with now is what else we do with Toledo that fulfills our commitment to the city and to Ohio. I don't have a doubt that there will be zero impact on head count and employment levels and anything else." Jeep has built the Wrangler in Toledo since World War II, with the exception of six years starting in 1986 when it was built in Brampton, Ontario. The complex dates back to 1910 and currently produces the Wrangler and Cherokee. Past products have included the Wagoneer and Commanche as well as the Dodge Dakota and Nitro.
Watch a Cayenne Turbo S, Range Rover SVR, and Cherokee SRT drag race
Thu, Mar 17 2016We live in a weird world where high-performance SUVs could win a 60-mile-per-hour sprint against sports cars from just a few years ago. Here, Top Gear sets up a three-way drag race against the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR, and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, and the results show just how quickly these high-riding models can cross the quarter mile. The Cherokee SRT is the patriotic choice among the three, but it's down on power in this fight. Meanwhile, the Range Rover's menacing growl sounds the best, and the Cayenne Turbo S has the most horsepower. You'll have to watch the video to see which SUV will win this battle. Related Video:
Chrysler recalling 630k Jeep models worldwide
Thu, 06 Jun 2013Despite its refusal to recall 2.7 million Jeep Grand Cherokee and Liberty models this week over a gas tank fire risk, Chrysler will be recalling 630,000 Jeep Compass (pictured), Patriot and Wrangler vehicles around the globe for a pair of entirely different reasons.
The affected Compass and Patriot models are all from the 2010 to 2012 model years - 254,000 in the United States, 45,400 in Canada and 109,000 elsewhere in the world. In these models, a software error may result in the late deployment of the side airbags and seatbelt tensioners. In the event of a crash, failure of these systems could result in more serious injuries for the vehicle's occupants.
Jeep's go-anywhere Wrangler also faces a separate recall due to power steering fluid lines that can possibly wear a hole in the transmission oil cooler line. According to Chrysler, the vehicles could then leak fluid, possibly damaging the transmissions. Roughly 221,100 Wrangler models are being recalled because of this issue, all of which are fitted with Jeep's 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. In the US, 181,000 vehicles are affected, with an additional 18,400 in Canada and 21,700 additional units worldwide. A Chrysler spokesperson said that no crashes or injuries have been reported with either case, according to the Associated Press.
