I am offering my 2001 Jeep Cherokee for sale. I am the second owner of this Jeep. It has a 4.5 in. Rubicon Express lift. I put the kit on it to lower the front arms and make it ride better (I hope I explained that correctly) and it rides very nice for a lifted vehicle. It was just inspected in December passed without a problem. Inspection is good until December 2014 in PA. It has the 4.0L 6 cylinder, automatic, and 42,141 original miles. Looks like new. There are no dings or dents. I only drive it on nice days. It has seen snow only a handful of times and I rarely drove it in the rain (only when I have to). The original owner used Mobil 1 fully synthetic motor oil and that is all I have used in the Jeep. There is no rust on the Jeep at all. There is a small area of clear coat that peeled right above the middle tailgate light on the roof (you can't see it unless your looking at the Jeep from above. It was like this when I purchased the Jeep, it hasn't gotten any worse (I can get a picture if anyone would like to see this). It has Wrangler Rubicon rims on it, which I had painted. The Jeep does not have an SYE. I bought it with 27K on it and I drove it 15K without any problems. It also has a cowl induction hood and a JetChip in it. With the JetChip you are suppose to run mid grade octane, which I always have. This can easily be removed. I had Rubicon Express Monotube Shock put on it 1-2 years ago. The front tires are basically brand new. The rear tires are fair. The spare tire is also a Wrangler Rubicon Rim, which I believe is also painted (I don't have the Jeep at my place right now so I can't check), with the same size tire as all of the others on the Jeep. I forgot to take pictures of the hatch area inside the Jeep. It is clean, just like the pictures of the interior that are posted. I can send pictures of this if desired, just let me know. I was told when I purchased the Jeep it had an aftermarket exhaust manifold on it, I never checked it out. I just assumed it was true. I had the battery disconnect and I just re-connected it. The check engine light was on it, but it is not now. I had it checked out and the TPS sensor is bad. It does not affect the drivability of the Jeep. If the light comes on again I will replace it before I sell the Jeep. The Jeep has only been off-road once and it was a dirt road with a couple very small rocks. I also take it hunting about twice a year. This Jeep hasn't been wheeled (in my opinion) and I don't know if it would need anything to perform flawlessly off-road. I am willing to ship the Jeep anywhere in the United States, but I will not release the Jeep to anyone until the correct funds have been transferred into my account. I'm not worried about a deposit or anything like that. If it will take a few days or a week for someone to put the cash together, I'm ok with that. I will not use PayPal. Please bid to own, even though there is a reserve on the Jeep. I will probably sell it, even if the reserve isn't met. I put the reserve on the Jeep in case it doesn't bring anywhere close to where I think it should be. I have tried to describe this Jeep to the best of my ability.I will take a check or cash for the Jeep. I'm not trying to hide anything so if there are any questions please ask. Thanks.

Australian Jeep marketing stunt goes awry [w/video]

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

Jeep fans in Australia are none too happy with the off-road brand following a contest that saw ten new Cherokees sold for just $10,000 Australian (about $9,400), roughly a quarter of the vehicle's price Down Under.
The contest, called the "World's Most Remote Dealership," gave Aussies the chance to snag an ultra-affordable Cherokee Longitude (analogous to the US-spec Latitude trim), provided they could get to a secret dealership in the remote wilderness of western New South Wales, near the border with the state of South Australia.
In order to get the exact location of the dealership, though, potential customers needed to download an app, which would release a phone number 9:00 AM AEST on Thursday (7:00 PM EDT, Wednesday night). The first ten people who could call in and prove they could afford to finance $10,000 and get to the remote dealership, were given the location of the remote dealership.

Jeep driver nearly gets washed away by fast moving river

Wed, May 11 2016

Just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should. For example, you should never attempt to cross a fast-moving river in a bone stock Grand Cherokee no matter how shallow the river looks. Especially if you don't know what you're doing. A video posted recently to the Facebook group Jeep EXPERIENCE, shows an inexperienced jeep driver learning that lesson the hard way. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. The video starts innocently enough, with a group of off-roaders watching one of their friends attempt to ford a shallow looking river. Things quickly go sideways however, when the driver of the silver Grand Cherokee just plunges right in and quickly gets in over his head. The river is moving faster than the driver thinks it is, the driver panics, makes some bad decisions, then the jeep is turned over and swept downstream. Eventually, the jeep is hauled out by a Land Rover after a long comedy of errors that involves one guy losing his trousers to the current and the Cherokee ingesting untold gallons of water. What went wrong here? Well, It's pretty obvious from the video that the Cherokee driver didn't have a clear idea of where he was going or about the condition of the riverbed. He chickened out halfway across the river, and in what appears to be a misguided attempt at turning back, he reverses, digs himself deeper in the riverbed, then turned broadside on into the current. When he changes his mind again and decides to just gun it for the opposite shore, he drives directly into a deep water hazard that would have been obvious to an experienced off-roader. At that point the jeep and the driver were doomed. Hopefully the driver learned a lesson here, and hopefully he didn't pollute that river too much with the jeep's fluids. Weekly Recap: Matthew McConaughey's star shines brightly for Lincoln

Sat, Jan 3 2015

The commercials were a little strange at first, but the ensuing spoofs were hilarious. And all jokes aside, Matthew McConaughey has made a difference for Lincoln. Advertisements starring the Oscar winner launched in September, and the results have been impressive. The number of customers clicking on Lincoln.com to check out the MKC – the crossover McConaughey pitched – has tripled since the ads began airing, a spokesman told Autoblog. They also generated 4.4 million views on YouTube and spawned parodies by Ellen DeGeneres, Conan O'Brien, South Park and Jim Carrey on Saturday Night Live, which racked up another 15 million views. Most importantly, Lincoln's sales have increased 15 percent through November, helped significantly by the strong launch of the MKC. Without the addition of the MKC, Lincoln's sales would have been essentially flat last year. The MKC has received solid reviews from consumers and the press, though it has had several recalls. "The overwhelming response to the MKC campaign sparked truly great awareness for Lincoln," Andrew Frick, Lincoln group marketing manager, said in a statement. Now Lincoln has launched another round of spots, which kicked off New Year's Day during college football bowl games. This time, McConaughey is hawking the MKZ sedan and its hybrid sibling. The spots, called Diner and Balance, use the same artistic formula as the earlier ads, with McConaughey intoning seriously about the cars in dramatic settings. They were shot over two days in Los Angeles and were directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, a Danish filmmaker who directed the 2011 move, Drive. The ads continue Lincoln's multiyear deal with McConaughey, who has said he's been long been interested in the brand. He starred in the 2011 thriller, The Lincoln Lawyer, as a defense attorney who worked out of a Town Car, though that was before his deal with Lincoln. In one of the earlier ads, McConaughey claims: "I've been driving a Lincoln since long before anybody paid me to drive one. I didn't do it to be cool. I didn't to it to make a statement. I just liked it." That sentiment appears to have worked for the MKC's launch, and with this new advertising blitz, Lincoln hopes it carries over to the MKZ.
