Auction is for a 1999 jeep cherokee sport 4x4 with a 4.0 engine and auto transmission. There is no under body rust that I could spot, even in the usual problem areas. According to the previous owner it had a crate motor put in at 168k miles. A few days ago it rolled 200k and now it sits at 200,100 miles. That would put about 32k on the motor. Normally I'd be skeptical, but if you know jeeps, you know the light clicking lifter sound that they all have. This does NOT have that so I'm actually a believer that this is a new engine, however, don't take this for fact. I'm not sure how much it's lifted if any, however it is fitting 31x10.50x15's without rubbing and that is something I have never been able to manage on any of my other stock Cherokee's.The tires have minor cupping which causes a very slight vibration at certain speeds. (Double checked that this was the cause by driving with my my friend's tires on it. No vibration at all)The previous owner had this since 06' I believe (could be wrong) and they told me they didn't know if the 4x4 worked or not because they had never even tried to engage it. I tried it the other day just to make sure it worked and it engaged in both high and low perfectly. The drivers window does not work. It needs a regulator and motor. It has the window wedged up currently. A/C and heat both work great. Other than the driver window, the power windows all work perfectly, as well as door locks and radio. It has an aftermarket cd player that I'm not a huge fan of. It has an aux. hookup in the back (great design eh?) and is wired for subs. The only issues are the window, a crack in the windshield (only reason I haven't fixed it is that it doesn't obstruct drivers view according to inspection station so it's pointless to fix it), needs rear hatch shocks (they seem to hold up on warm days but not on cold days), and the headliner has lots of pins holding it up. Other than that, it's in good shape. It has two small rips in the drivers seat. one on the side of the seat bottom, other on the ride side of the back rest. other than that they are in pretty good shape. Jeep also has roof racks. Jeep has never been used to tow anything and still doesn't have a hitch installed.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and a Final Four of automakers | Autoblog Podcast #723
Fri, Apr 1 2022In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski. We start out with news on the Lotus Eletre and Ferrari Purosangue. These two high-end crossovers are followed by discussions about the new inline-six engines from Stellantis and an overabundance of Hummer EV orders. Next we try something we've never tried before: ranking automaker blue bloods. We took inspiration from the current NCAA tournament, which features Duke, North Carolina, Villanova and Kansas — very much traditional blue-blood basketball programs — to name our Final Four automakers. Let us know if you agree or disagree with our picks and what your definition of a blue blood car brand is. We wrap up with a discussion about the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk that Jeremy's been driving all week. Send us your questions for the Mailbag and Spend My Money at: Podcast@Autoblog.com. Chrysler adding 200 jobs at Ohio Jeep Wrangler plant
Fri, 15 Mar 2013Chrysler is betting that the Jeep Wrangler will continue its strong sales surge as it continues to push the legendary brand out across the globe. The Auburn Hills automaker is reportedly adding 200 workers at the Toledo, Ohio plant that builds the Wrangler. What's more, those new hires will be at their posts quickly - they'll be on the job by April 1. Of those 200 workers, 130 employees will be there to relieve those who need breaks.
Why do they need so many relief workers? The Toledo Jeep Complex is currently working at a torrid pace with two ten-hour shifts. A third shift has been ruled out for the moment because of a production botttleneck - the plant's paint shop is already maxed out. According to Reuters, Wrangler production in 2012 cleared 200,000 units, and US sales were up by 16 percent.
Another part of the Toledo plant is presently down as Chrysler retools the line to build Jeep's divisively styled Liberty replacement, the Cherokee (seen in our gallery below). Production for the new model is scheduled to begin toward the end of May.
Jeep mulling power top for next Wrangler
Fri, 07 Mar 2014Jeep is hard at work on the next-generation Wrangler, though the truck is still a few years from hitting the trails. The new model will still be aimed at off-roaders, but rumors suggest it will be a little more comfortable than previous versions to appeal to more people.
According to Road and Track, Jeep is developing a power-retractable top as an expensive option for the Wrangler. There is no word if the top in question is a sliding canvas rollback like the ones found on many European vehicles or a full convertible hardtop or softtop, nor do we know whether it would be made available on two- or four-door models. It might be a nice feature for some buyers but would certainly add complexity to a truck already known for its ruggedness. We asked Jeep for confirmation, but Jeep spokesperson Todd Goyer could only remind us that the company "can't comment about future products."
In news that is likely to irk the faithful, R&T reports the next model may also ditch its folding windshield for improved safety and possibly even get rid of its rear-mounted, full-size spare tire. The new Wrangler won't go completely soft, though, and will reportedly still feature removable doors and solid axles.
