Up for sale is a highly modified, professionally built 2 Door XJ Cherokee. I am listing and selling this Jeep for a friend of a fallen comrade in our wheeling group.
Specs: 1998 Jeep XJ Cherokee 2 Door Sport Mileage: 154,xxx Engine/Trans: 4.0L Six Cylinder & Automatic Transmission This Jeep has it all. A fully built, professionally equipped rig that is extremely capable and offered at a fraction of what it would cost to replicate. Mechanical: Grade 8/10 Starting with the drivetrain. The Jeep retains its original 4.0L Six Cylinder engine and trans. These motors carry a great reputation throughout the Jeep community as being "bulletproof" and have more than enough torque and power to turn the 35" tires. Engine runs and drives strong with plenty of life left. - D30 front axle with D44 Rear Axle - Disc brakes all the way around - 4.56 Gears - ARB Air lockers front and rear. (currently the ARB compressor is out of the truck, and it will need a new compressor or air source for the lockers). Chrysler recalling hundreds of thousands of Jeep Grand Cherokee and Commander SUVs
Wed, 23 Jul 2014The public might associated ignition switch recalls with General Motors - and with good cause - but that's not the only automaker calling its vehicles back in to fix that sort of issue.
Last month we reported that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration was investigating an array of Chrysler Group vehicles for electrical-related safety issues. The administration and Chrysler subsequently issued a recall for 700,000 Dodge Journey crossovers, Dodge Grand Caravan minivans and Chrysler Town & Country minivans. But while the Jeeps that were also under investigation were not covered in that recall, they are being addressed in a separate one now.
Although Chrysler reports that it is only aware of a single accident stemming from this issue, it is "committing now to conduct a recall out of an abundance of caution." The recall affects the 2006-2007 Jeep Commander and 2005-2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, of which it reports there are 792,300 on the road: 649,900 in the United States, 28,800 in Canada, 12,800 in Mexico and a further 100,800 outside of North America.

Jeep going bigger with new Grand Wagoneer, smaller with sub-Renegade?
Tue, 11 Mar 2014The headlines are still rolling in for the new Renegade that Jeep unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show last week, but already reports are surfacing, citing sources within the company, about what Chrysler's iconic off-road brand will do next.
Speaking with Auto Express (whose reports we tend to take with a grain of salt or two), Jeep chief Mike Manley suggested that two courses of action are currently under consideration at Auburn Hills to develop two very different new models - one smaller and one larger than anything Jeep currently makes.
One plan would be to make an SUV or crossover even smaller than the new Renegade, although it isn't immediately clear what platform it would take. The Renegade (pictured above in Trailhawk spec) will be built in Italy alongside Fiat's upcoming 500X, but uses a heavily modified platform. We figure the smaller model, if approved, could base itself on the new Fiat Panda Cross.
