RUST FREE  1998 Jeep Cherokee RARE 2 DOOR.  Great for First Car, Commuter or RV Tow.

This Jeep  has been in South Georgia and Alabama all its life. I bought it from the daughter of the original owner. so it is really a two owner vehicle. Non-Smoker. It is clean for the age and miles. The interior is as nice as you'll find for the age.  I intentionally did not "over-detail" for the photos so that the true condition is depicted.

ICE COLD AC; Cruise Control; Tilt Wheel; Power Mirrors; Manual Windows; 5 Speed , It has new carpet, Sony aftermarket CD with MP3 input. Everything  works as it should.  Drivers sun visor does have sun damage.

Engine has plenty of power (for 2.5L); Transmission and Clutch operate smoothly; has new Harmonic Balancer and Timing Chain Tensioner. Brakes, Shocks and Springs are fine. Steering does have some play, but it drives well and handles safely for a vehicle with highway miles. As expected,  It does have normal rattles and squeaks. Has stock sized highway tires. Probably 50% or less.

The body shows normal wear for the age and mileage, but no signs of abuse. It does have some normal parking lot dings, rock chips and minor stains, mostly tree sap.  The doors are tight and do not sag at all.

Please see photos and feel free to ask any questions.

Bid with Confidence... To confirm the sale, a $500 deposit via PayPal is due at the end of auction. Balance is due within 7 days. It must be picked up within 14 days. Upon high bidder's personal inspection, if vehicle is not accurately described, high bidder may walk away from sale with deposit refunded. Please do not bid if you do not have PayPal or can't pay the deposit.

I can arrange delivery within 300 Miles for a flat $300.

Jeep follows up Super Bowl spot with call to help the USO

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

Once again, Chrysler had one of the most talked about Super Bowl commercials with its two-minute Whole Again Jeep spot, which was used to highlight its Operation SAFE Return program for US military personnel returning home from active duty. As part of this campaign, Jeep announced today that it will be donating up to $300,000 to the United Services Organizations (USO), and you can help.
Simply tweet using the #joinOSR hashtag on Twitter, visit the Yahoo! homepage or go to the Jeep Operation SAFE Return website, and Jeep will donate $1 to a fund that provides returning troops things like employment assistance and incentives to buy new vehicles. Jeep is also donating to this charity to the tune of $250 for each Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited (including the Freedom Edition model) and Jeep Patriot Freedom Edition model sold.

Gilles defends 2014 Jeep Cherokee design as "very contemporary"

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Following the forced-hand introduction of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, there has definitely been a mix of responses revolving around everything from its design to the return of the legendary nameplate. As evidence of this, just check out the 1,000+ comments in our article last week and some of the many opinions that were voiced. Following this not-too-warm reception, Ward's Auto had a chance to talk to Chrysler designer chief - and SRT president - Ralph Gilles, who shed a little more light on the styling direction of the new Cherokee.
Rather than looking to previous models for inspiration, Gilles says that the Cherokee has been designed to be more contemporary, with Mark Allen, head of Jeep design, adding that a main goal was to make sure the design still looks modern five years from now. Interestingly, Gilles does point out that one of the design elements incorporated on the new Cherokee that pays homage to past Jeeps is the sharply downward angle for the leading edge of the beltline, which he notes is meant to mimic the look of the old YJ and TJ Wrangler models fitted with half doors. Of course, the squared-off wheel openings - a signature Jeep cue - are still used.
This is probably a design that will need to be seen on the street in actual daylight to properly assess, but in the meantime, we'll bring you full images and impressions when the Cherokee debuts at next month's New York Auto Show.

YouTube tallies votes for this year's top five Super Bowl spots [w/video]

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

When we asked you to tell us which of this year's 16 car-themed Super Bowl commercials you liked best, you chose the Farmer commercial from Chrysler Group, advertising the Ram trucks, over Audi's Prom commercial in second place. Turns out the voters in YouTube's Ad Blitz poll agreed, voting the same commercial to the number one spot from among the field commercials in every category.
From there, however, they went in a totally different direction. Budweiser's The Clydesdales spot came second, Samsung's The Next Big Thing took third. The Jeep Whole Again ad scored fourth in the YouTube poll, fifth in our poll of auto commercials, and the Hyundai Team spot got fifth from the YouTubers, but ninth in our poll.
The voting results don't match up with the viewing numbers, though - while Farmer has more than 13 million views, The Next Big Thing is well beyond 21 million. You can read the press release below and see all five spots, lined up for you, one more time.
