I'm selling a 1996 cherokee with only 122,000 miles which is low for a 1996 and these cars regularly go over 200,000 miles. 4.0 h/o engine is known for its reliability and it starts right up and runs very well. automatic transmission shifts smoothly and never has given me a problem. four wheel drive works well and was great in the snow last winter. the vehicle was previously owned by a emergency services unit in new jersey and was maintained regularly. now i'll list the vehicles imperfections as it is over 16 years old. first like i said it was an e.m.t. vehicle and it had the emergency apparatus removed. the emergency lights on the top of the vehicle had been removed and you can see where they were mounted. there is no leaking from the removal  of the lights. you can see the pictures. the controls for the lights were below the shifter console and have been removed, leaving a hole in the console which is only plastic and can be found in the junkyard. you can see the pics. all the power windows and doors work from the driver control but the passenger front panel doesn't work to control the window or open the power door locks. the seats can use a cleaning and the driver seat has a small tear on the side of it. the headliner has a gash in it that i made with a piece of wood i loaded in the car. the car also has a class 2 hitch.

overall it is a dependable car that never let me down. the body is straight and has the usual nicks and scratches of a 1996 jeep and has very little light rust here and there which hardly shows in the pics.please keep in mind that you are not bidding on a new car but a used reliable 1996 vehicle and i'm just trying to give an accurate description of the vehicle.
feel free to ask any questions before bidding! paypal or cash payment only! no checks, money orders or any other scam out there! the vehicle is in the poconos, pennsylvania and i will do my best to show the vehicle by appointment. i work in new york city and can show the vehicle there as well. just ask ahead of time so arrangements can be made. i can drop off the vehicle within 200 miles but only if my return trip is paid for with prior arrangement! otherwise local pickup only and dont ask to borrow the plates, its not worth my risk! also vehicle is being sold locally and auction can be ended at any time!
thanks for looking!   good luck bidding!

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:
