Video at bottom

Up for sale is my 1995 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4x4 with the great 4.0L I6 engine. The jeep is in pretty good shape. It has 142k miles and and runs like new. The jeep has no leaks of any kind. I have less than 3000 miles on new tires that just cost $780.00 The A/C hasn't been charged since I bought it and it still blows cold. I installed a reese hitch on it about 6 months ago, so it hasn't really done any towing yet. The body is in good shape, and the paint isn't perfect, but it's good. The only major clearcoat issue is on the front right fender just below the hood. I got a close up of it in a picture, and on the video. I removed the end caps off of the bumpers, because I don't believe plastic has any place on the bumper of a jeep. I do still have them and they are included. On the back lift gate where it says jeep, it's missing a J. I have a few of them from the junk yard that I can put on if it's a big deal. Less than 2 weeks ago I installed 2 new kenwood 6.5s in the front and put a new head unit in with a CD player and AUX input. Sounds much better than the stock 1995 audio system did. I also moved the soundbar up a couple feet to give a louder and fuller sound to the passengers.
The engine and transmission are both very strong, and leak no fluids of any kind. All my friends drive cherokees and they all have mentioned how much better mine rides than theirs because mine has NEVER been off-roaded or abused. The upholstery is in pretty good condition. The  headliner is in very good condition, and I don't currently have sun visors installed. If you want some on I'll install them. I got a newer headliner and just never put them back on. The rear seats fold flat so you can fit quite a bit of cargo back there if you only have two passengers. The jeep will be getting a brand new cat back exhaust from the best muffler shop in eastern north carolina, with all joints welded before pickup. Since I'm already having an exhaust put on, the winner will be given the choice of mufflers if there is multiple choices. I will pay for basic muffler, aftermarket mufflers will be at buyers expense. (Most of the money is the work so I doubt they differ $50 between the cheapest and most expensive.) Any potential bidders are encouraged to come out and test drive the jeep. It really runs like new!
Nothing that is not part of the jeep that you see in the picture or video will be included. I have a dual battery setup in the back cargo area with 0 gauge wire running back to it, with a 3000watt max power inverter that I used to run 110v power tools when I was working construction recently. I will leave that setup in there for an extra $200, otherwise it will be removed, and a single battery will be placed in the front. Under the stuff in the back there is a rubber mat which is included (never seen anyone else with one), and underneith the carpet looks new. The car is also currently wired for a 4000 watt rms audio system. If you want, I'll leave all the wires in for $40, if not I'll remove them and you will never know they were there. No holes were drilled during the installation, all wires were run through existing rubber grommets in the fire wall.

If you would like schedule a test drive or ask any questions, please call or text (252)342-2494

Terms: Vehicle is sold as is where is, and I have done my best to describe the item as accurately as possible. A $500.00 deposit is due 24 hours after the auction end, and the rest will be due within 7 days. I tried to answer any questions that I would have asked as a buyer, however if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or text me. Thanks

Jeep mulling power top for next Wrangler

Fri, 07 Mar 2014

Jeep is hard at work on the next-generation Wrangler, though the truck is still a few years from hitting the trails. The new model will still be aimed at off-roaders, but rumors suggest it will be a little more comfortable than previous versions to appeal to more people.
According to Road and Track, Jeep is developing a power-retractable top as an expensive option for the Wrangler. There is no word if the top in question is a sliding canvas rollback like the ones found on many European vehicles or a full convertible hardtop or softtop, nor do we know whether it would be made available on two- or four-door models. It might be a nice feature for some buyers but would certainly add complexity to a truck already known for its ruggedness. We asked Jeep for confirmation, but Jeep spokesperson Todd Goyer could only remind us that the company "can't comment about future products."
In news that is likely to irk the faithful, R&T reports the next model may also ditch its folding windshield for improved safety and possibly even get rid of its rear-mounted, full-size spare tire. The new Wrangler won't go completely soft, though, and will reportedly still feature removable doors and solid axles.

Watch this R/C Jeep Wrangler plow snow

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

There's no denying the fact that the Jeep Wrangler is one tough and rugged vehicle, and there is apparently little lost when the SUV is shrunk down for a 1:10th scale radio-controlled version. Proving that the Axial SCX10 Jeep Wrangler is not your run-of-the-mill R/C car, YouTube user Andrew Dykiel posted a pair of videos showing it clear about an inch of snow from his sidewalk and driveway during a snow storm last month.
Starting at $379.99, the Axial SCX10 costs more than most budget snowblowers, but other than paying a neighbor kid to shovel your snow, this might be the best way for a car guy to clear snow without the need for hot chocolate and ibuprofen. Better yet, it's electric, so it's zero-emission answer to snow removal! Scroll down to see how this R/C Jeep can help "shovel" snow from the warmth of your sofa. We've also thrown in a bonus video showing the mini Jeep negotiating the Rubicon Trail.

Gilles defends 2014 Jeep Cherokee design as "very contemporary"

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Following the forced-hand introduction of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, there has definitely been a mix of responses revolving around everything from its design to the return of the legendary nameplate. As evidence of this, just check out the 1,000+ comments in our article last week and some of the many opinions that were voiced. Following this not-too-warm reception, Ward's Auto had a chance to talk to Chrysler designer chief - and SRT president - Ralph Gilles, who shed a little more light on the styling direction of the new Cherokee.
Rather than looking to previous models for inspiration, Gilles says that the Cherokee has been designed to be more contemporary, with Mark Allen, head of Jeep design, adding that a main goal was to make sure the design still looks modern five years from now. Interestingly, Gilles does point out that one of the design elements incorporated on the new Cherokee that pays homage to past Jeeps is the sharply downward angle for the leading edge of the beltline, which he notes is meant to mimic the look of the old YJ and TJ Wrangler models fitted with half doors. Of course, the squared-off wheel openings - a signature Jeep cue - are still used.
This is probably a design that will need to be seen on the street in actual daylight to properly assess, but in the meantime, we'll bring you full images and impressions when the Cherokee debuts at next month's New York Auto Show.
