The Goods:

  • This Jeep will go anywhere you point it. Professionally built with no expenses spared. Woman owned and daily driven.
  • Gets 16mpg
  • VERY flexy offroad
  • Interior is in VERY good condition
  • Jeep is VERY solid and VERY clean for age.

The Bads:

  • Needs a starter. 9 out of 10 times it starts without issues. The 10th time if you wack the starter with a hammer she'll fire right up. We decided to just replace it. We have a NEW IN BOX starter that will be included with the purchase of this Jeep. We simply have not had the time to have it installed yet.
  • Does have a few dings/dents. The front driver fender has a dent. The lower rocker on the passenger side has a golf-ball sized dent (thanks rock!). The factory rear bumper is missing the end-cap on the driver side and the bumper is slightly bent.
  • Does have a few rust spots. The lower section of the front doors on each side has some surface rust (not through). It is the DOORS ONLY, the rockers are solid. The rear lower quarters behind the tires right beside the fender flare also have rust. We had planned on simply just doing the "cut-n-fold" to them but never got around to it.
  • The Neutral Saftey Switch (NSS) does sometimes act up. If you put it in (N) it'll start up just fine. It's never left us hanging and we've never got around to cleaning it. There are lots of write-ups online about how to clean them vs. replacing them. Like we said, it'll start if you put it in (N) without issues.
  • The headliner fabric is off. The backing is still there and installed.
  • The Jeep is VERY SOLID but we wanted to be upfront about the few small issues.

We are in the middle of renovations to a 140yr/old building in our historic downtown and simply need additional funding to finish the project. This is the ONLY reason we are selling this vehicle. Hate to see it go, as my wife really enjoys driving and wheeling this Jeep.

This incredibly detailed toy Jeep will set you back $2,300 [w/video]

Wed, Dec 30 2015

When I was a kid, I desperately wanted one of those Power Wheels Ford-badged Big Foot impersonators. They were far cooler than my lousy, plastic Big Wheel trike. This 1/8-scale electric Jeep takes the Power Wheels idea to a fanatical level. For one, the Capo Racing Jeep is as true to the real Wrangler as is possible in a 1/8-scale vehicle. Everything works, from the three-speed automatic transmission to the transfer case to the locking differentials. It uses a body-on-frame design with a real, metal multi-link suspension. In the cabin, the seats recline and the instruments light up. It has to be one of the most remarkable miniatures we've ever laid eyes on. Of course, that all comes at a price. As our chums at Jalopnik point out, for $2,300 you could pick up a full-size Wrangler. It'd be battered, sure, but it'd be something you could take on actual roads. Check out the fully gallery of images and official details over on the Capo Racing website. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. How to update and secure a vulnerable Chrysler Uconnect system

Sat, Jul 25 2015

If you own one of the 1.4 million vehicles affected by the recent Chrysler software recall, you may want to watch this video. In it, we explain how to get the latest infotainment software loaded onto the 8.4-inch Uconnect system. The recall was a response to the findings of researchers who were able to hack into and remotely control a 2014 Jeep Cherokee through its cellular connection. Although Fiat Chrysler has worked with Sprint to plug most of the holes on the carrier side, there are still some vulnerabilities that only this latest software version can patch. Owners have three options to get the update: download it now, wait for a USB stick in the mail, or take the vehicle to an FCA dealer. Chrysler will be sending USB sticks loaded with the software update to customers. Anyone with an internet connection and a USB stick of their own with at least 4 GB capacity can speed things up by downloading the patch from the Uconnect website. We cover that process from start to finish in the video, with the final portion still applicable to those using the FCA-supplied USB stick. If after watching this you still don't want to tackle the patch yourself, you can take your vehicle to the dealer to have it done. Also note that this process is the same for all Uconnect updates, not just the one patching the exploits. Our demonstrator vehicle is a 2015 Ram 1500 pickup. The procedure should be very similar on other products with the 8.4-inch Uconnect system, with only the location of the USB port varying. Once you have the USB stick with the software on it – either after having downloaded it yourself or receiving it in the mail from Chrysler – the installation process is relatively simple. It takes about 15 minutes to perform the update; we edited out the wait in the video. To check whether or not your car's 8.4-inch Uconnect system is running the latest software, go to System Information on the touch screen's Settings page and look at Software Version. The update related to the recall is version 15.17.5. Related Video: Recalls Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Safety Technology Infotainment Videos Original Video hacking

Jeep Renegade's development a template for new Fiat Chrysler Auto

Wed, 24 Sep 2014

"We figured we'd take the best of both worlds." - Ralph Gilles.
The international makeup of the 2015 Jeep Renegade will serve as a template for cooperation within the newly formed Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Senior Vice President of Product Design Ralph Gilles said.
