ONE FAMILY OWNED SINCE NEW. CALIFORNIA JEEP CHEROKEE CHIEF S. ITS WELL OPTIONED WITH TILT, CRUISE, AC, PS AND PDB. HAS NOT BEEN ON THE ROAD IN OVER 12 YEARS, LAST REGISTERED IN 2002. ORIGINAL OWNER HAD A NEW 360 INSTALLED IN 2000 THEN PASSED AWAY BEFORE IT WAS COMPLETED. KIDS GOT THE VEHICLE AND IT HAS SAT THE LAST 12 YEARS. THEY DECIDED TO GET IT GOING LAST YEAR, HAD THE 4" ROUGH COUNTRY LIFT INSTALLED ALONG WITH NEW 33X12.5X15 FALKENS ALONG WITH NEW NEW RIMS. THEY NEVER COULD GET IT RUNNING RIGHT AFTER THIS AND GAVE UP ON IT AGAIN. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION APPEARS THE TIMING CHAIN WAS INSTALLED OFF THE MARK AS THE MOTOR CANNOT BE TIMED. JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING ON THE MOTOR IS NEW. BUY IT WITH THE ASSUMPTION THAT THE MOTOR WILL NEED WORK TO RUN CORRECTLY. RUNS WELL ENOUGH TO SHIP IT NO PROBLEM. INTERIOR IS VERY GOOD FOR ORIGINAL CONDITION WITH JUST A FEW TEARS IN THE FRONT SEATS. DASH, DOOR PANELS AND REAR SEAT ARE GOOD. REAR CARPET HAS BEEN REMOVED. EXTERIOR IS ALL ORIGINAL PAINT AND IN GOOD SHAPE. ONLY RUST IS THE VERY LOWER EDGE OF THE TWO REAR WHEEL FLARES. GLASS IS ALL GOOD. MILES APPEAR TO BE ORIGINAL AT JUST OVER 106K. AMC is long dead, but for its latest peek in the archives, MotorWeek winds back the clock to somewhat happier times. Take a look at the entire AMC lineup from 1983, including its models from Jeep and Renault. The Jeeps, and to a lesser extent, the AMC Eagle, enjoy a cult following today, but it's amazing how many of these other vehicles are now practically forgotten. Even the big debut in '83 of the Renault Alliance is largely ignored. Although with a ludicrous amount of body roll and a 55-horsepower 1.4-liter engine, it's probably rightly buried. Key-swapping thieves steal Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT from FL dealer
Sat, 09 Nov 2013Just a few weeks back, we reported on the theft of an Audi RS5 by a pair of creative thieves who managed to swipe the car's keys when the salesperson stepped away from their desk. Now, a Florida dealership is missing a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 after some crooks switched the Jeep's keys with an identical, non-functioning set.
According to the report from local NBC affiliate WPTV, the men went in and spoke to a dealer about the Jeep. They walked outside, took a look at it, started it up and in the process managed to switch out the fobs. After doing their time with the salesperson, the thieves walked back out to the car, got in and drove away.
"I mean obviously, the way it was done, I think that they were professionals and they knew what they were doing," said Arrigo Jeep General Manager Joe Tufo. "The fact that they did it in broad daylight and switched the key fob and it was like it was nothing. That's what makes it unique," he added.
Stellantis and Foxconn's new joint venture will focus on connectivity
Wed, May 19 2021MILAN — Carmaker Stellantis and TaiwanÂ’s Foxconn announced plans to develop a jointly operated automotive supplier focusing on technology to make vehicles more connected, including artificial intelligence-based applications and 5G communications. Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said the services that will be developed through the tie-up “will mark the next great evolution of our industry,” alongside fully electrified and hybrid powertrains. The deal brings together Stellantis, the worldÂ’s 4th-largest automaker formed this year by the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and PSA Peugeot, and Foxconn, a major supplier of iPhones. The companies said the venture would focus on such services as infotainment, the integration of telecommunications and computer systems, artificial intelligence-based applications, 5G communications, e-commerce channels and smart cockpit integration. The companies announced a non-binding memorandum of understanding to form a 50-50 joint venture called Mobile Drive, which will be based in the Netherlands and function as an automotive supplier also to other carmakers.
