I'm the third owner of the Jeep. I've owned it for a little over a year, but Im now looking for something different that is why I'm selling it. this jeep is 100% original. it is originally an Arizona car so there is NO RUST. the previous owner bought it front the original owner and shipped it up to Oregon. the car sat for over 20 years so he restored the whole vehicle. the engine, transmission, axles, brakes, etc. were all brought back to working order at 34,000 miles (the year 2003). the original fan for the heater still works great and so does the heater itself.

what is original ( I will only list off a few, too much to list)

original paint, original seats, #'s matching engine, transmission, transfer case, axles etc. I have the original owner's manual and warranty sheet and the original rims and tires from 1973 (still in great condition), 39,220 ORIGINAL MILES

what was replaced (last 3000 miles)

original radiator (replaced with copper radiator), ball joints, front drums with disc brake conversion, shocks (replaced with Rancho RS5000 last 400 miles)

the only major damage to the car is in the paint on the passenger quarter panel, there is a battery acid stain that happened years ago. otherwise there is no other damage to the car or paint besides slight wear around the door sills and trunk area in the paint.

Total auto recalls already on record pace in 2014

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

If you've noticed that there have been more recalls than usual this year, you may be on to something. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the US market is on pace to break a record for recalls. In 2013, 22 million cars were recalled. We're only a third of the way through 2014, though, and we've already halved that figure, with 11 million units recalled. That's wild.
Considering the past few months, it shouldn't be a surprise that General Motors is leading the charge, with six million of the 11 million units recalled coming from one of the General's four brands. Between truck recalls, CUV recalls and the ignition switch recall, 2014 hasn't been a great year for GM.
Other recall leaders include Nissan (one million Sentra and Altima sedans), Honda (900,000 Odyssey minivans), Toyota (over one million units in a few recalls), Volkswagen (150,000 Passat sedans), Chrysler (644,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs) and most recently, Ford (434,000 units, the bulk of which were early Ford Escape CUVs). So while it's been a bad year for GM so far, its competitors aren't doing too well, either.

Chrysler taking big risk snubbing NHTSA

Maker Insists Feds Overstate Risk Of Fires With Grand Cherokee, Liberty Models
It's not often that recall stories make it above the fold, in that old newspaper parlance, but when one shows up as the lead story on the network evening news programs, you know it's something big.
And so it is with Chrysler snubbing its nose at a request by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to recall 2.7 million Jeeps the feds insist are at risk of potentially catastrophic fuel tank fires in a rear-end collision.

Chrysler set to make $266M-investment into 8-speed transmission production

Wed, Dec 10 2014

Chrysler will shortly make a significant $266-million investment into its Kokomo, IN transmission factory in a bid to expand production of its eight-speed automatic transmissions. The gearboxes, which are built under license from Germany's ZF Friedrichshafen, have been well received by customers and critics, and according to an SEC filing obtained by Automotive News, the transmissions will eventually find their way to all of Chrysler's rear-drive offerings (Viper and heavy-duty Ram models, aside). According to AN, a Chrysler spokesman says the investment has not been confirmed, but once it is, it'll mark the company's latest in a growing line of investments at the facility. Chrysler has poured $1.5 billion into Kokomo since 2009.
