I have 1976 Jeep Cj7 for sale. I bought this vehicle while stationed in Alabama, and by the lack of rust I believe it spent all of it's life in the South. The Jeep is almost completely original with the AMC 304 V8 under the hood attached to the original three speed transmission as well. Blinkers and brake lights work. In the pics you will see the original air filter and most of the EGR system in tact. The gentleman I bought it from was a helicopter mechanic and did an excellent job replacing the floor boards, this Jeep is solid. If you're looking for an old Cj with minimal body work this one is for you. The engine runs strong. Some of the discrepancies. I would replace the front fenders which are readily available, looks like someone stood on them at one time, rear view mirror is missing, the side running lights are missing but easily rewired. If you look at the pics you will see original paint under the hood and inside as well, along with the original seats. Here is a Jeep you can put on the road today and make improvements while you enjoy driving in it. And if you're like me you'll appreciate the original hard top as well, especially with our winters. If you have any questions please send me a message and I will respond. Thanks for looking.

You mentioned very little rust. Where is the rust and how bad is it? Is there any way you can send pics of the rust spots? Thanks, Keith

Hey Keith, I will send all the pictures you want. Well the rust... the floor has been completely replaced and rear tailgate is diamond plate. The little rust I speak of is the rest of the body, the corners are solid, windshield. There is some rust on the bottom of the doors, but not much. I am speaking relatively to any other old Cj I've seen. The last one I rebuilt I had to replace the tub, this one you would not. What is your email? I'm at my limit of pictures on here. I do see it allows me to add photos on here as well. Or please call me at 309 912 6187. John

Can you tell me the condition of Engine( smoke, oil usage) Trans condition and 4x4....Front end condition for as handling...Does the jeep have heat....Thanks

Engine compression is from 119 on the lowest to 135 on the highest. They average out at 129. There is smoke smoke at start up which I believe to be coming from the valve stem seals. But once it's running I'm not seeing any smoke. As far as the front end it does not have power steering or brakes. It seems fine to me, I've driven down the highway up to 80 mph. I live 15 minutes out of town. It shifts through all of the gears smoothly and the 4 wheel drive works. I can tell you it all works. If you have any questions or would like more pictures leave me your email. I can be reached at 309 912 6187. John

Consumer Reports says these are the worst new cars of 2014

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

Consumer Reports has announced its annual list of worst vehicles, a cringe-inducing contrast to its list of top vehicles. Ignominiously leading the way in 2014 is Chrysler, which has a staggering seven models listed.
Jeep nearly sweeps the small SUV segment by itself, with its Compass, Patriot and 2.4-liter version of the new Cherokee, while the only midsize sedans listed by CR were the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. The new Dodge Dart and the Dodge Journey round out CR's condemnation of Chrysler.
Ford is taking heat as well, with the Taurus, Edge and their counterparts from Lincoln all listed as the worst vehicles in their respective segments. Toyota doesn't fare much better, with its Lexus IS, Scion iQ and tC also making the list.

2015 Jeep Renegade brings the cute

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

The jig is up, the noose is out, we finally found it: the Renegade that Jeep has made, retrieved for a bounty.
Okay, enough of that. Meet the Renegade - Jeep's cute little compact crossover that makes its official debut here at the Geneva Motor Show. We recently brought you a massive Deep Dive into what makes the Renegade tick, and we're now getting our first live look at the tiny Jeep, live from its coming out party in Switzerland.
With the exception of associate editor Jonathon Ramsey, who doesn't know what he's talking about, we at Autoblog are kind of smitten with the little Jeep - it's a really unique package, featuring details that really make it kind of special (notice that jerry can pattern in the taillights, for example). Jeep will offer the Renegade with either a 1.4-liter turbo-four (from the Fiat 500L) or a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four (from the Dodge Dart), with either a six-speed manual transmission or a nine-speed automatic. There will even be a Trailhawk version with four-wheel drive - properly trail-rated, to boot. The Renegade also features a nifty new My Sky removable roof panel system, giving this little cutie sort of a baby Wrangler feel.

Work at a Chrysler dealership, get free college education

Mon, May 4 2015

The cost of a college education in the US can put a student tens (hundreds, in some cases) of thousands of dollars into debt. FCA US wants to give its dealership employees a leg up, though, and the automaker is now offering a completely free education to them through a partnership with Strayer University. The workers can take any of the college's classes online or on campus through program called Degrees@Work. Currently, the offer is only available to employees Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram and Fiat dealers in the automaker's Southeast region, which includes Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee. However, a national expansion will happen before the end of the year, Strayer spokesperson Cristina Henley tells Autoblog. The program will cover all of the students' expenses, including their books, according to Henley. FCA US sees this partnership as a way to improve the talent of its workforce, retain employees longer and possibly attract people wanting to take advantage of this free education. "Many of our dealers have expressed concern over the availability of talent to fill open positions due to business growth and turnover in their stores, especially in metro markets," Al Gardner, the company's Head of Dealer Network Development, said in the Degrees@Work announcement. Strayer has about 40 programs available, including in business administration, accounting, marketing, and more, and the university offers associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees. It will also give FCA US employees credit for their work experience to get them a diploma even more quickly. FCA US Dealers to Offer Employees No-Cost, No-Debt College Education FCA US teams with Strayer University to develop first-of-its-kind dealer program Degrees@Work program open to all employees of participating dealerships Employees can earn no-cost, no-debt degree through Strayer University All Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge, Ram and FIAT dealerships may participate First phase of program rollout begins with dealers in the FCA US Southeast Business Center National rollout expected later this year May 4, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Employees of Chrysler, JeepĀ®, Dodge, Ram and FIAT dealerships will have the unique opportunity to earn a no-cost, no-debt college degree through Strayer University's Degrees@Work program, developed in collaboration with FCA US LLC. FCA US is the only company in the automotive industry to offer the program.
