For Sale! RARE 1982 Horton Ambulance All-Terrain-Medic Unit. One of only 10 units ever built. In the early 1980's Horton built many different specialty ambulances and the Jeep ATM unit was probably the most interesting. The passenger front seat was turned backward behind the driver facing rearward and a Ferno 107-C stretcher was loaded feet first through the back door allowing full patient care in a small but well equipped area. The unit was designed as a backup unit and for off road rescue applications. Due to their high cost they never caught on.
My ATM was acquired in 1992 in Beckley, WVA and I am the only owner to date. It's time to pass the vehicle on. The unit is listed for sale on other sites and locally, so it may be gone early. I reserve that right. FOR EBAY PURPOSES, THE UNIT IS NOT EQUIPPED WITH WORKING LIGHTS AND SIREN. |

Here's why you shouldn't try to drift a Jeep Cherokee

There are many reasons why an XJ-generation (or really any other) Jeep Cherokee doesn't make for a good drift machine. It's tall, it's four-wheel-drive... it's a Jeep, okay? But someone apparently forgot to tell that to this guy. Uploaded to LiveLeak, this video shows some poor schmuck who took his Cherokee to a (mostly) empty parking lot and tried to drift it. Needless to say, things didn't go quite as he planned, but they probably went exactly as you might have expected. Thankfully, nobody appears to have been hurt. Or at least, we assume so, since the guy apparently survived to put the video up online.

AMC is long dead, but for its latest peek in the archives, MotorWeek winds back the clock to somewhat happier times. Take a look at the entire AMC lineup from 1983, including its models from Jeep and Renault. The Jeeps, and to a lesser extent, the AMC Eagle, enjoy a cult following today, but it's amazing how many of these other vehicles are now practically forgotten. Even the big debut in '83 of the Renault Alliance is largely ignored. Although with a ludicrous amount of body roll and a 55-horsepower 1.4-liter engine, it's probably rightly buried.
