Fully Restored, Everything Rebuilt, Original Patina On Original Body Paint on 2040-cars
Hernando, Mississippi, United States
1964 cj5 Tuxedo Park Mark IV. Tuxedo Park is a trim package in the eary 60's which included chrome bumpers, which are almost impossible to find (these have a $2000 re-chrome job), chrome column gear shifter, 60/40 splint front bench seat. Almost every nut bolt and washer has been replaced with either stainless steel or hardened on the whole jeep (motor, transmission, transfer case, chassis, and body) looks really neat. Everything has been rebuilt, replaced, cleaned and painted except the red body paint which has a great patina. Anybody can put on a shiny new tub but this thing has character. Could have it clear coated but I just keep thick coat of wax applied. Body does have some rust - in front of door openings as seen in pic. Floor pan has some holes - but cleaned and painted, see pic. Looks like someone hit the spare tire carrier and tried to patch, see pic. It took 50 years to get this way - should last a lot longer now that it's all painted. Very good condition for an original unmolested jeep. Front fenders have a little denting - rumor has it that it hit a cow. Lived it's life in North Mississippi and Alabama. Axles, frame, and drive shafts cleaned and painted. Transmission blasted painted and rebuilt. Transfer case blasted and painted and new seals. Motor not rebuilt but runs good except a little exhaust valve leak - no oil leaks, blasted and painted. New water pump, oil lines, alternator, battery. Rebuilt steering box and new tie rod ends. All new brake system. New exhaust system which is ceramic coated. Tires are not new, ok but some cracking. No parking brake. Finally found a NOS speedometer (after a year of looking) can buy a new version but it doesn't look like the original. Gauges and speedo works (reads a little fast) with new speedo cable. NOS Sparton self canceling turn signal switch. New windshield frame and gasket. All new springs, bushing, and shackles. New upholstery, floor mats, new steering wheel, horn button, and horn. Stainless rear view mirror and tail lights. Heater and windshield wipers are not installed - I do have them. No top, or spare tire. Great looking - everyone has to comment on it. Call, text or email with any questions 901 483 3395. Thanks, Bill. For sale locally, reserve the right to end early. May add more if I thing of anything. Mileage is inaccurate - old speedo was working showing 64k but title listed as mileage unknown.

Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango to lose color options temporarily
Wed, 19 Nov 2014In the market for a Jeep Grand Cherokee or Dodge Durango? Well, if you fancy a more expressive color for your new SUV, you'd better get your order in, or plan on waiting until well into 2015.
The SUVs will be limited to just four monochromatic shades - black, white, silver and gray - until at least February, thanks to an upgrade to the paint shop at the two vehicles' Jefferson North factory. For the Grand Cherokee, that means it's losing more than half its color palette while the Durango is dropping two-thirds of its color catalog.
The loss of colors is inconvenient, but the upgrade will have a slightly bigger effect on the overall supply of SUVs, as Chrysler will need to end its relentless build pace at the factory for a three-week shutdown starting on December 22. The good news for fans of the SUVs is that once the work is completed, we should see a gradual expansion of the color palettes for both the Durango and Grand Cherokee, beyond even what's offered now.
Fiat-based baby Jeep spotted testing in US and Europe
Thu, 03 Oct 2013Details remain scarce, but our spy photographers have managed to capture the upcoming Jeep B-segment crossover for the first time, testing in both the Alps and in the US. Shown here as a cobbled-together Fiat 500L mule, the new Jeep model is expected to arrive for the 2015 model year and act as a replacement for the current Compass and Patriot models.
According to our shooter, the new "baby Jeep" will share a platform with the Fiat 500X, and both models will be built on the same assembly line in Turin, Italy. We can't tell much from these images, but the added length apparent on this 500L mule would seem to dispel the recent speculation that the new entry-level Jeep model would be sized closer to the Ford Fiesta - since the 500L is already considerably larger than the Fiesta. Powertrain options will likely mirror other Fiat/Chrysler collaborative vehicles like the Dodge Dart, but this Jeep will also try to live up to its off-road roots with an optional all-wheel-drive system.
Jeep reveals Grand Cherokee SRT Night, Wrangler Backcountry
Thu, Nov 12 2015Another major car show is almost upon us, and you know what that means. That's right, boys and girls – another pair of custom Jeeps. Far be it from us to complain, though, especially when the pair of SUVs debuting at the LA Auto Show this month aren't just for show. These will actually be offered to the public as new special editions. In one corner we have the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night edition, with all the brightwork replaced with black. The roof, rear spoiler, front grille bezels, pillars, and window surrounds are all done up in gloss black, while the wheels – custom 20-inch jobs – as well as the front applique and badging have all been given a satin black treatment. The interior, as you might have guessed, is also predominantly black, with black leather, black chrome bezels, and silver stitching. Buyers will be able to choose between deep red, silver, or dark gray exterior colors, but either way they'll be getting the same 6.4-liter V8 – all 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of it. In the other corner is the Jeep Wrangler Backcountry. This one's based on the Wrangler Sahara and features a special off-road front bumper, powder-coated rear bumper, and the 17-inch wheels and rock rails from the Wrangler Rubicon. The interior features piano-black trim, leather and mesh seats, vinyl accents, nine-speaker Alpine sound system, and more. It'll be available in five colors – blue, black, white, gray or purple – with special graphics (because nothing says "backcountry" quite like neon pink decals on a purple Jeep) and a standard black (or optional body-colored) hardtop. The Wrangler Backcountry will be reaching dealers around the same time as its live debut towards the end of this month. Don't expect to see the GC Night edition on the streets until early next year, though. Pricing for either has yet to be announced, but you can scope out the details of both in the press release below.
