Up for auction is a custom built Jeep CJ5. This Jeep was built built for trail riding with mild street use. With a little work like sway bar and alignment it could probably be driven on the street. The rear end is fully locked so it is a little rough on the street. This Jeep has a 97 Jeep wrangler engine 4.0 with Borla header, and a power aid throttle body spacer. Its wicked for a 6cyl to say the least. It has a 94 Jeep YJ wiring harness and pcm for simplicity. New alternator. Painless wiring harness for the rest of the Jeep. Stainless backing plates for brake discs. Stainless lines throughout. One piece axle upgrade. Front is dana 30 rear is amc 20. The ax15 5spd was adapted to a dana 300 with twin sick shifter. This Jeep was basically rebuilt from frame up. It was stripped and pressure washed. Sanded and primed. The frame has a light textured spray bedliner. Clean durable and easy to work on. Not all gooped up. The body is satin tan. Inside is spraybedliner. Has a new stereo with all the latest hookups for ipod, droid and phone connect with bluetooth and a microphone. Speakers are not the greatest. The Jeep has not had any real miles put on it since being rebuilt due to a driveline vibration. It has a pretty short driveshaft with the double cardigan joint. All the joints seem smooth out of the Jeep but when in it vibrates. Im out of time and money to work on it any longer and willing to sell at a discounted price. I would reccomend towing this Jeep and going over it or having a shop go over it before taking of down the highway or trail. It runs and drives as is just vibrates.  I dont want to mislead anyone on this Jeep. Its very strong and reliable. it was not slapped together. I do not know any miles on any part of it. i know the engine is smooth with no noises and no smoke. all lights and gauges work. wipers work. Jeep is geared 4.56 and has 35"x12.50"x15 tires. There is no top. Grade 8 bolts throughout frame. New ubolts. Shocks feel a little weak. All and all this is a killer jeep with an awesome look. I'd say one weekend in the garage and get the driveshaft figured out and you would be ready to hit the trails. The jeep is title as a 1973. Great for areas with emissions. I will not give out the reserve. There is no warranty. No refunds of any kind. Please ask all questions before bidding. Deposit with 24 hours of auction end. 3 days to have paid in full. and 5 days to have it picked up. I can help with shipping at your expense.

Texas student drives Barbie Jeep to school after DWI

Fri, Sep 4 2015

A Texas college student who lost her license when she was charged with a DWI this spring found a creative way of getting around campus. Tara Monroe, 20, is a student at the University of Texas at Austin. She had her driver's license automatically suspended when she refused a breathalyzer test after leaving a Waka Flocka concert on March 4. He dad took her car away and left her with a bike. But that just wasn't classy enough for Monroe. "Riding a bike around campus sucks," she told MySA.com. "Like really sucks." She searched Craigslist to find an alternative and settled on a bright pink Fisher-Price Barbie Jeep Power Wheel toy to help lug her stuff around campus. She named it after the original owner, a little girl named Charlene. The unorthodox ride has turned Monroe into a minor celebrity. Pictures of her slowly making her way around campus in the toy car have been popping up on social media. "This is the best way I could have gotten my 15 minutes of fame," she said. "Basically, it was the best decision I've made in college, yet..." The Barbie Jeep has a 12-volt battery and only goes about five miles per hour. Monroe says she loves the attention she is getting from her immature hijinks. Toyota, Lexus dominate KBB's Best Resale Value Awards

Tue, 19 Nov 2013

Toyota and Lexus stormed the 2014 Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Awards, winning a combined 18 categories including best brand and best luxury brand. This marks the third year in a row that both automakers have won the Brand and Luxury Brand resale value awards. In all, Toyota won 11 categories and Lexus won seven.
Honda made a good showing, as well, winning two segments (Accord Plug-In Hybrid and Civic Si) and putting one car on the top-10 Best Resale Value list (CR-V). Chevrolet did even better, winning two segments (with the V6 Camaro and the Corvette) and placing three cars on the top-10-overall list (again, the Camaro and Corvette, plus the Silverado 1500).
The other winners came from Jeep, Dodge, Infiniti, Subaru and Audi. To give you a clearer picture of the Toyota and Lexus domination, their 18 mentions represents more than half of the 34 awards (including the top-10-overall list).

Daily Driver: 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X Edition

Thu, Apr 9 2015

Daily Driver videos are micro-reviews of vehicles in the Autoblog press fleet, reviewed by the staffers that drive them every day. Today's Daily Driver features the 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X Edition, reviewed by Adam Morath. You can watch the video above or read a transcript below. Watch more Autoblog videos at /videos. VIDEO TRANSCRIPT Hi, I'm Adam Morath for Autoblog. Now, undoubtedly, one of the coolest things about this job is that you're in and out of so many different vehicles, but, I'll be honest, there are times where, if you're in very similar vehicles, they can start to run together a little bit. That's why I love getting into a car like this that just snaps you right out of it because it's so unique and so different from anything else on the market. Of course I'm talking about the Jeep Wrangler. I'm in a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. This is the X Edition, which stands for X Games. Jeep is a big title sponsor of the 2015 Aspen X Games and you can see that all over this vehicle. You have white, glossy accent plastic in the interior; mountain graphics throughout the interior and exterior of the vehicle – a nod, obviously, to the winter sports and skiing that you would do out in Aspen. And then in keeping with that mountainous theme, you have an Alpine nine-stereo speaker system. I'll be honest, though, that some of it feels a little overdone to me. For instance, there's a power-bulge in the hood. Credit to Jeep: the vents are actually functional, but this is not the trim I would go for, just personally. It's one of those vehicles that people are always wondering, "I really like the look of it [and] I like the capability, but could I live with a Wrangler?" It's the same sort of question you'll get from people who are looking at a sports car, "could I actually live with this is my daily driver?" And I have to say, Jeep has come a long way – Wrangler, in particular, has come a long way – in terms of driving comfort. Of course, don't expect "Lexus quiet." You can probably hear it's a big noisy in the cabin. It's a bit of a bumpy ride. There are things about this vehicle that I could see being annoying in your day-to-day life. For instance, the door: it's essentially an external hinge on the door, but it doesn't stay open for you. So, if you're on any sort of a tilt, the door will come back in and you have to just prop it open with your leg. Little things like that.
