This good looking jeep is golden eagle with the factory chrome package nose, tac, clock, and a working factory 8,000 pound AMC Warn winch. I had it professionally painted Hummer Desert Sunset orange. It has the stock AMC 304 V8 matched to the stock turbo400 automatic trans. It has stock power steering and brakes, hard top and doors. It has a class 4 tow hitch in back and comes with a tow bar for the front. Pretty much everything is new inside and out..tires, seats, 21 gallon stainless steel gas tank, CD player, and more. The only mod to the engine is Doug Thorley headers to duel flow master exhaust. It sounds great. There is one small rust spot on passenger side front panel and a one inch tear in the drivers seat but that's it. I am 51 years old and I have babied this jeep. You won't find a nicer CJ. It looks, runs and sounds great. You'll love this jeep."

I am selling one of the nicest Jeeps in the Southwest.  I am 51 years old and have babied and cherried this Jeep.  It's a 1978 CJ 7 Golden Eagle with the factory chrome front grill, nose and hood supports.  It also has a working factory AMC Warn 8000 pound winch on the front.  It has the original AMC 304 V8 mated to the stock turbo 400 automatic transmission.  The trans was recently professionally rebuilt and runs like a top with no leaks.  The engine is stock with the exception of Doug Thorley headers mated to duel flow masters.  It sounds excellent.  It has matching front and rear 1970s era bullet proof Reese bumpers.  I have a detachable tow bar in the front and a class 4 hitch on the rear.  I added a stainless steel 21 gallon fuel tank.  Power steering and brakes. Tilt steering wheel. New interior, CD player with removable face, tumbling rear seat, rhino lining on top and underside of tub. Even the horn is new.  Removable hard top and doors.  Tires have less than 5000 miles, new mile marker hubs.  This Jeep is a looker and it runs nice.  I am getting ready to retire and down sizing.  You won't find a nicer looking, running and sounding stock Jeep in addition to the factory goodies on board.  This is a gem.

Ram, Jeep redesigns on hold, Alfa Romeo models may come sooner

Wed, Jun 3 2015

Last summer, FCA outlined an ambitious five-year plan that sketched out the company's product intentions for each of its brands through the end of 2018. However, even the best strategies sometimes need tweaking. According to Reuters after speaking with unnamed people at auto suppliers, FCA is now possibly delaying at least a dozen projects in North America for a variety of reasons. From vehicle to vehicle, these postponements allegedly last anywhere from just a few months to over a year. The sources from the suppliers claim that in some cases these tweaks are for engineering and design changes. The next-gen Ram 1500 reportedly has among the shorter delays and is being pushed from mid-2017 to November 2017, according to Reuters. Also, the much-discussed future Jeep Wrangler is allegedly moving a little later to July 2017. Among the vehicles purportedly seeing longer delays, the next-gen Grand Cherokee could get pushed back about a year to 2018. That then forces the launch of the three-row, luxury Grand Wagoneer to be even further away. Jeep's upcoming C-segment CUV and the all-new Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and Challenger might also see postponements. The one brand allegedly seeing an accelerated plan is Alfa Romeo. Without going into detail, the sources from these suppliers claim that the Italian automaker is getting even more vehicles for its lineup and could get them even faster than planned. "Those plans need to be flexible and fluid, with the potential to add some vehicles, pull some forward and extend the life cycle of others," FCA said to Reuters about all of these allegations. "We look at these programs on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis." Investment in the auto industry has been a major topic for FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne as of late. He believes consolidation is necessary so that companies aren't burning money on the same projects. NHTSA closes book on Jeep 'trailer hitch' recall after all

Mon, 20 Jan 2014

After much debating and hand-wringing, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration now says it has "no reservations" with Chrysler's plan to recall certain Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee models over concerns that their fuel tanks, which are located behind the rear axle, could rupture or leak in the event of a rear impact. The longstanding argument between the two entities saw Chrysler openly defy the Feds after a request to recall 2.7 million units back in June.
Chrysler's "voluntary campaign" will instead see it recall 1.56-million 1993-2004 model year Grand Cherokee SUVs, along with 2002-2007 Liberty models. Affected vehicles will get a trailer hitch installed free of charge, which Chrysler says will provide an additional degree of protection for the fuel tanks in the event of a crash. Jeeps with Mopar-branded hitches or hitches that were installed at the factory aren't affected by this recall.
Chrysler's argument throughout this battle has been that the Jeeps in question are no more susceptible to fires than comparable vehicles from the same time period, a position that NHTSA has seemingly arrived at as well. "Those vehicles performed at a rate similar to their peers. That is the keystone analysis as to whether something poses an unreasonable risk to safety," said outgoing NHTSA boss David Strickland during an interview with the The Associated Press.

Jeep Cherokee sales rival Wrangler after two months

Sun, 29 Dec 2013

In our First Drive article on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee we said, "our informal and thoroughly unscientific opinion is they're going to sell tons of them. Why? Because it is very good." So far, it appears the public concurs. Of course, it's very early - the new compact utility has logged just one month of confirmed sales, but Larry Vellequette at Automotive News says dealers have told him that the second month of sales will be even better, a message that mirrors what we've heard from company execs.
In its first, severely truncated month on sale, the Cherokee sold 579 units. With all of November to play with, though, dealers moved 10,169 of them - compared to 11,753 Wranglers and 14,798 Grand Cherokees. That helped propel Jeep to a 30-percent year-on-year improvement for the month, Chrysler Group to a 16-percent improvement and the group's 44th consecutive month of sales growth, exceeding analyst expectations in posting its best November numbers since 2007.
If it can just keep replicating the its first month of sales, the finalist in North American Truck of the Year voting will smoke the trade done by the outgoing Liberty, which didn't break 7,900 units in a month in the last four years of its life (and normally didn't get close to even that). In March this year, Chrysler said it wants to build 250,000 Cherokees in its Toledo assembly plant for global sales. It's early yet, but with second-month sales quoted as being as "strong as death," the bookies might be resetting the odds.
