If you have been looking for a CJ-7 you have found your Jeep. 1986 was the last year of the CJ's and it was the best year made. This Jeep came from the factory with a Hardtop and Hard Doors (which are included in the sale), a 4.2 L/258 cu in Inline 6, Dana 44 Rear Axle and Dana 30 Front Axle. I purchased this Jeep as the third owner in 2001 and completely rebuilt the Jeep. I have only put 25,000 miles on the Jeep and believe there is no significant mechanical portion of the Jeep that has not been rebuilt or replaced. This Jeep comes with 3 tops (Hardtop/Hard Doors, Besttop Softtop and Soft Doors, & Bikini Top.) The interior is Rhinolined and it has Wet Okole neoprene seat covers front and rear. The rear seat is factory original, the fronts are Besttop high back seat. The jeep is the original metal tub and associated parts (windshield, hood, etc.) and there is no active rust or perforation issues. The Jeep was repainted in 2001 and is garage kept. The mechanical goodies are listed below and pay special attention to the custom bumper and features associated with that. Also, look at the spare parts that come with the Jeep, tow strap, fuel and water cans, ammo cans to hold parts/gear, fire extinguishers, etc., you are ready to go on an extended woods trip the day you buy the Jeep. Chrysler highlights Mopar lineup for SEMA
Wed, 30 Oct 2013SEMA is all about aftermarket parts, and in Auburn Hills that all comes down to one name: Mopar. After having previewed its lineup for this year's Vegas tuner expo earlier this month, Chrysler has now revealed what may not quite be its full dossier of modified show cars, but a good portion of them.
All told Mopar is preparing 20 vehicles for display at SEMA this year. Among them you'll find the Ram Sun Chaser, a 1500 Quad Cab show truck kitted out in two-tone orange and black paint, a roof rack for surfboards, onboard shower and convertible tailgate. The white Fiat 500L is called the Adventurer and is modified for a more rugged look that could hint at the upcoming crossover version. The Jeep Cherokee Trail Carver upgrades on the Trailhawk package with everything from roof basket to rock rails. To counterbalance the off-roaders, there's also a modified Chrysler 300S with a deep black paint job, special grille, Varvatos-edition wheels and more.
All four concepts details so far have Katzkin interiors as well, and there's also an unspecified Dodge Durango with a storm-trooper look in the gallery above. But for more details on what Mopar has installed on the Ram, 500L, Cherokee and 300, you'll want to delve into the press release below.
Fiat-based baby Jeep spotted testing in US and Europe
Thu, 03 Oct 2013Details remain scarce, but our spy photographers have managed to capture the upcoming Jeep B-segment crossover for the first time, testing in both the Alps and in the US. Shown here as a cobbled-together Fiat 500L mule, the new Jeep model is expected to arrive for the 2015 model year and act as a replacement for the current Compass and Patriot models.
According to our shooter, the new "baby Jeep" will share a platform with the Fiat 500X, and both models will be built on the same assembly line in Turin, Italy. We can't tell much from these images, but the added length apparent on this 500L mule would seem to dispel the recent speculation that the new entry-level Jeep model would be sized closer to the Ford Fiesta - since the 500L is already considerably larger than the Fiesta. Powertrain options will likely mirror other Fiat/Chrysler collaborative vehicles like the Dodge Dart, but this Jeep will also try to live up to its off-road roots with an optional all-wheel-drive system.

Tue, 14 May 2013Hennessey Performance Engineering has created an HPE650 package for the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT fitted with the 6.4-liter Hemi engine. When it leaves the showroom floor it has 470 horsepower and gets from 0-60 miles per hour in 4.8 seconds. When it leaves Hennessey's garage floor after the upgrade it has 650 horsepower - 530 hp at the wheels, according to Hennessey - and gets to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds on its way to running the quarter-mile in 12.6 seconds.
There's more than just a Roots-type supercharger bolt-on, with ported cylinder heads and high-flow headers among the many changes made to the engine. You can watch this pre-2014 facelift silver model prove its spec sheet on the drag strip in the video below.
