1985 Jeep CJ7 Renegade 79k Original Miles

This Jeep CJ7 is a beautiful classic that gets a lot of attention when driving around town.  Yesterday I drove it to the mountains twice, once without the hardtop and once with it.  The Jeep drives great, no vibrations or shimmy and has no problems keeping up with traffic in town, on the highway or in the mountains.

Engine:
258 4.2L 6cylinder motor that runs great, is very peppy and runs good.  Overall the motor runs great, I don't notice any leaks on the ground after driving and it does not smoke.  The carburetor needs some adjustment.  When driving the rpms are a little high at stop signs almost as if the choke is not opening.  The Valve cover gasket has the classic leak and the exhaust muffler/tail pipe could use replacing.

Transmission/Transfer Case:
5spd T5 Manual Transmission that shifts perfect, no play in the transmission and no grinding or crunching.  The Clutch is very tight and does not slip.  The transfer case shifts easily in and out of 4x4.  It is a Dana 300.

Drivetrain/suspension:
The Jeep drives excellent and has that soft tight stock suspension.  There aren't any loud clunks or noises, it is very smooth.  The drivetrain and suspension are completely stock.  The power steering is super sensitive and the power brakes stop the jeep easily.

Interior Controls/Switches:
Everything in the interior works including the gauges, speedometer, odometer, wipers, blinkers, horn, cig lighter and heater.  The heater cranks and blows hot.

Paint/Body/Rust:
The paint is Garnet Red Exterior with Renegade Striping.  It appears that at one point it had been resprayed and the renegade decals were not installed at that point. The front driver fender needs fixing or replacement.  The paint is beautiful and very reflective, shiny and lots of luster.  The front grill/fenders and windshield frame have many sand chips.  The body has rust spots on both rear quarters, both are a little larger then a silver dollar and there are a couple small blister spots under the decals.  The body mounts are all very solid and not rusted thru.  Overall very clean, the rear of the jeep does not show any rust near the tailgate or body mounts.

Interior:
The interior is beautiful, the Garnet Red interior is in excellent shape.  The seats are incredibly clean and do not have any significant rips, tears or seem separations.  The rear seat on the top has some small cuts.  The carpet is in excellent condition, very clean without any stains or rips/tears.  The drivers side floor under the carpet is rusted thru and will need to be cut out and a new floor installed or covered up.  The interior paint is in great condition otherwise.  The dash pad does have a few cuts in it too.  The radio works and has the stock speakers behind the dash.

Hardtop/Doors:
The black hardtop has not been refinished and is the original.  It is in great shape and could use a fresh coat of paint at some point.  The doors do not have any rust, the windows roll up and down very easily and the locks work from the inside.  Unfortunately I do not have a key for the doors, it disappeared.  The wing windows open and close with ease and the seal tight.

Overall:
This is a beautiful Jeep and ready to go.  With a little bit of TLC you could have a rare classic to enjoy for many years to come.  The CJ7 is used and 29 years old it may have blemishes I didn't capture on my camera.  I do my best to illustrate the condition, I may have missed something so be sure to ask all questions you have prior to bidding or winning the Jeep.  The Jeep is being sold as is, where is, without warranty or guarantees.  I am not required for your state emission or safety inspections including Colorado.

Conclusion:
A $500 non refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the conclusion of the auction via paypal.  All sales are final.  The final payment must be received within 7 days of auction end time.  Payment options include cash upon pickup, Electronic Bank Transfer or Wire Transfer.  I have sold multiple cars on ebay and can provide references if necessary.  I reserve the right to remove the auction at anytime as this Jeep is listed for sale locally as well.

You probably won't see FCA's famous Easter eggs on an Alfa Romeo

Thu, Nov 17 2016

They started in Jeeps, with images of seven-slot grilles showing up on windshield edges, the text "SINCE 1941" appearing in the clear plastic of headlight units, and a relief map of Moab engraved into a rubber cubby liner. Then a Chrysler got a map of Detroit and the outline of Laguna Seca materialized near the Viper's window switch. We've come to call them Easter eggs, but Klaus Busse points out that they were never really meant to be secrets, just ways to dress up what he calls "dead plastic." He's nevertheless cool with the phrase being applied and likes the enthusiastic response these design details get. Busse is intimately familiar with many of them, having signed off on many of them in his time as head interior designer for FCA's US operations. He recently moved to Europe to lead Alfa Romeo, Maserati, and Fiat design there, so when I caught up with him next to the new Stelvio crossover at the Alfa stand in LA, I had to ask: Are we going to see any of those neat design details in Alfas or Maseratis anytime soon? The short answer is no. But he didn't say it's out of the question. Busse said if, for example, a designer wanted to put an Italian phrase somewhere on a car that was in keeping with the brand, he would allow it. Although he didn't come out and say it, it seems like he might feel this type of fun design element isn't necessarily appropriate for a higher-end brand like Alfa. And I get that. But I'm still going to check all the compartments of that new Alfa crossover for a map of the Stelvio Pass. Stellantis and Foxconn's new joint venture will focus on connectivity

Wed, May 19 2021

MILAN — Carmaker Stellantis and TaiwanÂ’s Foxconn announced plans to develop a jointly operated automotive supplier focusing on technology to make vehicles more connected, including artificial intelligence-based applications and 5G communications. Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said the services that will be developed through the tie-up “will mark the next great evolution of our industry,” alongside fully electrified and hybrid powertrains. The deal brings together Stellantis, the worldÂ’s 4th-largest automaker formed this year by the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and PSA Peugeot, and Foxconn, a major supplier of iPhones. The companies said the venture would focus on such services as infotainment, the integration of telecommunications and computer systems, artificial intelligence-based applications, 5G communications, e-commerce channels and smart cockpit integration. The companies announced a non-binding memorandum of understanding to form a 50-50 joint venture called Mobile Drive, which will be based in the Netherlands and function as an automotive supplier also to other carmakers. The new venture will combine advanced consumer electronics, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) to create new services “that will exceed customer expectations,” the companies said in a release. “Customers today and, in the future, demand and expect ever-increasing software-driven and creative solutions to connect the drivers and passengers with the vehicle inside and out,Â’Â’ Foxconn Chairman Young Liu. Compact SUV Comparison: Specs, pics and reviews of every brand's crossover

Wed, Jul 25 2018

Honda CR-V vs Toyota RAV4. Chevy Equinox vs Ford Escape. Mazda CX-5 vs Subaru Forester. Whichever combinations of compact crossover SUV you're considering, there's probably a comparison test or chart out there to read. Heck, you can even create a three-car comparison yourself here at Autoblog. However, if you want a bunch of that information all in one convenient place, well, here it is. Our mega comparison of specs, features and photos of compact SUV entries from every mainstream manufacturer that sells them. That includes the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, 2018 Ford Escape, 2018 GMC Terrain, 2018 Honda CR-V, 2018 Hyundai Tucson, 2019 Jeep Cherokee (it's already on sale with notable changes from 2018), 2018 Jeep Compass, 2018 Kia Sportage, 2018 Mazda CX-5, 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross (none of Mitsu's SUVs are perfect fits for this segment, so we deemed the MEC the most competitive fit), 2018 Nissan Rogue, 2018 Subaru Forester, 2018 Toyota RAV4 and 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan. We can update this comparison as more information about 2019 models is released, most notably the Forester and RAV4. Now, there are certainly some models that are smaller (Nissan Rogue Sport) or larger (Kia Sorento) that could also be considered, but we figured it was wise to stick with those in this sweet spot of comparable size and price. We also included links to Autoblog reviews, buying guides and smaller comparisons. Engines and Transmissions With rare exception, this segment features four-cylinder power. Sometimes it's turbocharged, often its not, but standard engine outputs are generally in the same ballpark. Therefore, we'd recommend focusing on torque output, as it's what will make a difference around town or when passing, and weighing that versus fuel economy (the Chevy Equinox, GMC Terrain, Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5 make particularly strong cases in this regard). Many drivers aren't too fond of continuously variable transmissions (CVT), either, so that's another thing to consider and note during a test drive. As you can see, several models are available with performance upgrades. Besides the Jeep Cherokee's available V6, all are more powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engines. The exception to this would be the Honda CR-V and Ford Escape, as their 1.5-liter turbo engines don't prioritize performance. Instead, they serve as overall upgrades to the base naturally aspirated engines standard on only their base trim levels (CR-V LX and Escape S).
