1985 CJ7 Jeep with hard top, hard doors, also have new in the box black bikini top that is included. we have done a lot of improvements since purchasing a year ago including, new paint, new tires, brakes, new bearings, new window seals,  truck bed liner for interior floor pans, new mossy oak seat covers, new tuffy brand metal locking center console, new marine grade cd player mounted in the lock box, new marine speakers, new windshield frame. The jeep is a full fiberglass tub except for the doors and windshield frame. That is why the frame was replaced because I didn't want to paint it with the rust that was on the corners. The previous owners stated that the motor was replaced roughly 35k miles ago and it runs strong, transmission shifts smooth. New 3 inch lift was put on during our restoration. New wiring including a dash mounted kill switch in case you get in too deep of water and don't want to fry the electrical. Also new battery 2 weeks ago. no a/c but the heat works great during the winter. There is a hairline crack about 11 inches in paint on drivers side door not extremely noticeable because it is in the seem where the door dips in at the top. the passenger door paint isn't perfect around the door hinges because we had to adjust them and we waited til after paint to check the fit. we have had them airbrushed around them but it doesn't look perfect. Decided to just reduce the price to account for it as opposed to fixing it because the doors stay in storage 90% of the time anyways. Other than the small issues with the paint on the doors the paint is great only about 6 months old. if you have any questions you can call me at 256-458-1662

Jeep Cherokee won't get diesel until sales of oil-burning Grand Cherokee improve

Tue, 01 Jul 2014

Okay Jeep fans, you want more diesel options? Time to step up and prove it. The only way Jeep will offer a diesel powerplant in the Cherokee, according to brand head Mike Manley, is if sales of the Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel nearly double.
Currently, about eight percent of the Grand Cherokees sold feature the 3.0-liter, EcoDiesel V6. That's simply not enough to warrant the bringing an oil-burning Cherokee to the US market, despite the vehicle's presence in Europe, where it's sold with a 2.8-liter diesel V6.
"Cherokee is slightly different because of its weight and size. When I think about bringing Cherokee diesel here, I would like to see Grand Cherokee diesel get much higher than eight percent," Manley told Automotive News. "It would have to be in mid-double digits."

FCA plotting larger Jeep Renegade, Fiat 500XL

Mon, Mar 23 2015

The joint development of the new Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X goes to show what the combined efforts of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles group can yield. But don't expect the Italian-American automaker to stop there. According to Autocar, the company is planning to base another pair of larger SUVs on the same platform. The Jeep version would take the place of the previous Compass and Patriot, slotting in between the Renegade and Cherokee. Meanwhile, the Fiat version would further bolster the Cinquecento lineup to sit alongside the 500 hatchback, 500L minivan and 500X crossover. Details remain few and far between at the moment, but they wouldn't be the extent of the growth plans for either brand. Jeep is reportedly zeroing in on a decision on the long-rumored sub-Renegade model, while also preparing to expand up-market with the return of the Grand Wagoneer. Fiat is reportedly abandoning the prospect of offering a full model line as it once did. While the 500 range will continue to form a vital part of the brand's business, it's also tipped to be going after the no-frills, bare-bones market dominated by Renault's Dacia brand. To that end, it would seek to build upon the Panda by offering a larger, but still low-cost hatchback to rival the Ford Focus and VW Golf, and succeed the discontinued Fiat Bravo, but based on the 500L's platform and built in Turkey to keep costs down. This second pillar of the Fiat brand wouldn't likely be offered in the US, however, where we'd expect the 500 line to continue representing the Italian automaker. Related Video:

100,000 Jeep Cherokee models subject to further 9-speed recalibration

Thu, 29 May 2014

It seems that the software problems with the nine-speed automatic gearbox in the Jeep Cherokee continue to mount. The programming already caused multiple development delays and even postponed the Cherokee's market launch by roughly two months. Now, Jeep has issued another recalibration to hopefully assuage unhappy drivers.
According to Automotive News, this reflash for the allegedly jerky transmission covers over 100,000 Cherokees built before May 5, but it's not technically a recall. If owners are having problems and complain to the dealer, they get the new software. Otherwise, they continue with the current version. New vehicles on dealer lots also receive the latest revision to the programming. It takes only around five minutes to install, but technicians need to take the Cherokee on a test drive to adapt the gearbox to the changes.
The Cherokee's transmission software has been problematic practically since the beginning. The Jeep plant in Toledo, OH, briefly idled its second-shift workers last year to take care of the issue. Since the launch issues for the crossover, demand has been strong. Jeep added another 1,000 temporary workers to the Toledo factory to keep up, and sales were on par with the Wrangler in just its first two months.
