1982 Jeep CJ7 Renegade. Engine 258cc, 4.2L, inline 6 cylinder, 5 speed manual transmission, NEW Bestop supertop with tinted windows. New American Eagle aluminum radiator, New water pump, New thermostat, and new hoses. Stock plastic valve cover was replaced with New black aluminum cover. Stock brake master cylinder was replaced with New dual diaphragm vacuum powered brake booster and new master cylinder. The Carter BBD carb has been cleaned and rebuilt. The stock air cleaner was replaced with a cold air intake system. Suspension: New body mounts (bolts and bushings).  New sway bar bushings.  New Rough Country 2.5" suspension lift with Nitrogen shocks and shock boots, New front and rear shackles, New rough country heavy duty steering stabilizer. matching tires with good tread. New Starter.  (I have receipts)

This was a true barn find. The jeep was owned by a farmer and was stored inside his metal building.  The tub is in very good condition. There are only a couple spots of minor rust. The floor is solid all the way through. Jeep runs good and is street legal (passes safety inspection) Please remember this is not a new car, but is well on its way towards being a complete restoration. Absolutley no body filler!

It needs:  The exhaust is old and rusty, but not rusted through.  The steering gear has a minor leak.  Guages: Oil psi, voltmeter, water temp, fuel quatity all stopped working at the same time, they worked fine a few months ago. (suspect bad ground?)  Body:  Windshield frame has rust on drivers side, dash has a couple rust holes.  Minor rust on passenger side below hinge (not rusted through, blistering) Antena holes and snap holes.  Small ding in front right fender.  Full steel doors have been primered, glass and registers are in good shape, I have all the hardware.  The body is a diamond in the rough.  This is the original paint and has very minor rust.  Will not take much to complete this restoration.

I welcome any serious bidders to come see the vehicle before bidding.  Vehicle is sold "as is" without any warranty expressed or implied.

Jeep launches new ad with unreleased Michael Jackson track

Fri, 09 May 2014

We've recently heard much about how Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne plans to pump up the volume on Jeep sales, inaugurating new models and global dealerships. But that's the stuff outlined in five-year plans; right now, advertising and special editions are at the fore, and the late Michael Jackson, too. Jeep has begun airing two commercials to push its Altitude Editions, Call of Summer and Lovers of the Game, that feature the song "Love Never Felt So Good" from Jackson's upcoming album of new music.
A little more star power - and timely, too - comes from Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving. While Call of Summer features a few short shots of the former Rookie of the Year and two-time NBA All-Star, Lovers of the Game is all about his white Wrangler Altitude Edition and wrangling shots. You can watch both spots below, and if you want to hear the rest of the music track before the album hits, you can download it from iTunes.

Jeep Wrangler likely to get aluminum body, will stay in Toledo

Mon, 27 Oct 2014

Perhaps more than any other vehicle currently for sale in the United States, the Jeep Wrangler is viewed by purist fans as a vehicle that simply must maintain the status quo. In this case, that means a body-on-frame design, solid axles, a relatively large engine sitting up front and a removable top. It's always been that way, and it always will be.
Maybe.
According to the most recent reports, the next-generation Jeep will continue to soldier forth with a full steel chassis underneath its stamped bodywork. The biggest change, reports Automotive News, will be that said panels will be hewn from aluminum instead of steel, a seismic shift of a transition not unlike what's happened with the new Ford F-150. Because it won't be a unibody, the SUV will likely continue to be assembled in Toledo, OH as it (almost) always has been - the latter has been a source of heartburn in recent weeks for the Northwestern city in the Buckeye State.

GMC boss wants a Jeep Wrangler rival

Wed, 12 Nov 2014

Challengers come and challengers go, but the Jeep Wrangler continues to push forward even after vehicles like the Toyota FJ Cruiser and the entire Hummer brand have been shut down. Now GMC reportedly wants to take a stab at the quintessential Jeep, as well.
The news comes directly from Buick-GMC vice president Duncan Aldred, speaking with our compatriots over at Edmunds. Although Aldred said there are no plans currently on the table to expand GMC's lineup beyond the current range, "there is plenty of room everywhere in the hierarchy."
That could include a rival to the Wrangler, as well as a flagship luxury SUV positioned above the current Yukon Denali (pictured above). Just when (or for that matter, if) such models might come into fruition remains a big question mark, but it's certainly interesting to see what GM's dedicated truck brand has on the drawing board.
