Houston, Texas, United States
- This jeep was built in 2007 by a jeep rebuilder here in Houston . It's owner purchased a 1982 jeep as a donor. The only thing that remains from the 82 is the doors, frame, guages , xfer case and ofcourse title . The previous owner has spent a total of 27k building this jeep. It was driven 600 miles and placed in the garage to be driven the next weekend and it didn't start. That was 7 yrs ago. This jeep now has 7yrs of dust caked on from sitting in the garage . I have pictures . - the owner, after watching it sit for numerous years reluctantly decided to sell it as a non running vehicle . This is where I came in. I took it on as a gamble / project and had it towed to my house . I found out what caused it to not start and after having the carberator rebuilt it started great!!! Here are the specs-- - complete fiberglass tub - fiberglass front clip - fiberglass top - newer jeep seats - b&m transmission - 350 crate engine (displays edlebrock ) - 4barrell webber/ edlebrock carb ( I just had it rebuilt ) - frame was sandblasted and coated - electronic water pump - electric fuel pump -centerline wheels -power steering -power brakes -roll bars front and rear - step bars -undercariage skid plates NEVER OFF ROAD -Mickey Thompson tires ( only 600 miles on them) - I forgot what brand the hubs are - gm steering column with tilt It's obvious that someone spent there bank roll on this truck and I spent a week tinkering with it. It's a supernice toy or daily driver . It's well built and it shows . I have a clear title in hand and would like to sell this soon so I can buy my next toy wrangler |

Jeep Wrangler Polar Edition coming to America
Wed, 23 Oct 2013Jeep originally took the wraps off its Polar Edition Wrangler at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, and at the time, we figured this would be a Europe-only affair. (Perfectly fine, since we US customers haven't exactly been lacking special edition Wrangler models over the years.) But now, and as Jeep says, just in time for winter, the automaker has announced that the ice cold Wrangler will be hitting North American showrooms in November.
Based on the Wrangler Sahara model, the Polar Edition can be had in either two- or four-door body styles, with a unique Hydro Blue paint job as the featured color. (Buyers can also opt for less-special Billet Silver and Bright White hues.) Other exterior enhancements include a body-colored hardtop, 18-inch gloss black wheels, the Powerdome (power bulge) hood, and unique decals all around the body.
But the Polar Edition isn't just about some paint and stickers. Jeep has fitted this Wrangler with a Dana 30 front axle and Dan 44 rear axle, as well as the Trac-Lok anti-spin electronic rear differential. Like all US-spec Wranglers, the Polar Edition uses Jeep's 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, producing 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Both a six-speed manual and five-speed automatic transmission are available.
Federal grand jury issues subpoenas to U.S. FCA dealers
Wed, Jul 27 2016Despite an attempt to clarify and backtrack, it seems the investigation into Fiat Chrysler Automobile's false sales reporting is picking up steam. According to Automotive News, FCA dealers and regional offices have received subpoenas ordering them to supply documents and testimony to a grand jury in Detroit. Of course, the dealers are objecting to the request. They claim the subpoenas are too broad and would require them to hand over too much personal information, like personal phone numbers of dealer employees going back years. The group wants to make it clear that FCA has clarified its sales reporting and that the issue is with the manufacturer, not dealers. The dealers say that FCA employee records and testimony should be enough. It's rumored that a dealer group is the one that sparked the investigation in the first place. FCA confirmed on July 18 that it indeed was under investigation by a number of federal agencies. Although they've clarified their position regarding sales reporting, the fraud investigation continues full steam. Related Video:
FCA to appeal reduced judgment in Georgia Jeep case
Thu, Aug 13 2015FCA is appealing the $40 million verdict against it in a case in Georgia where a four-year-old boy died in a fire in a Jeep Grand Cherokee, according to The Detroit News. The jury originally awarded the child's family $150 million, but the judge decided to significantly to reduce the amount based on other precedents. The automaker has been considering further legal options since the decision was announced in July. The boy's death happened in 2012 when he was riding in a Grand Cherokee. The vehicle was rear-ended, and the fuel tank burst, causing a fire. This is the same issue that led to a recall of millions of the SUVs and a recent agreement with the US government from FCA to pay to get them fixed. In the original ruling, the jury said that the automaker was 99 percent responsible for the fatality and didn't adequately warn owners. It asked the company to pay $120 million for wrongful death and $30 million for his pain and suffering. FCA countered that the Jeeps met the safety standards of the time they were made. FCA requested that the jury's award be reduced in May calling the amount "grossly excessive." If the family didn't agree to a lower amount, the company also threatened to seek a new trial. Among the arguments was that $30 million was too much for the child's one minute of suffering. The parents did accept the judge's adjusted figure, though.
