My 1981 Jeep CJ5 is in excellent shape. It runs very well. The engine purrs like a kitten. It doesn't smoke or use oil between changes. The transmission shifts very smooth. The Jeep has no fluid leaks of any kind. I would drive it across country without hesitation. The fuel, engine temperature, battery voltage, and oil pressure gauges all work properly. The frame is very clean, rust free, and solid. This Jeep has never been in an accident. I drives very straight and true. It has always been a southern Jeep. Always adult owned and driven. Never off-road. It belonged to different members of the same family in Louisana who only used it for occasional weekend pleasure riding. I purchased it and now have it in Mississippi. It has never been exposed to road salt. If you want to fly in, I will pick you up at airports PIB, GPT, or JAN. I will also work with your shipping company to get it shipped to you.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ photo jeepadd_zpsd77157a7.png--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Please call me at 601-408-7717 before 7pm Central time to talk to me about it.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- photo 7_zpsf20d6492.jpg photo 6_zps44c272bd.jpg photo 5_zps1cf7d235.jpg photo 4_zps590d2e6f.jpg photo 3_zpsb7974dd5.jpg photo 2_zps745a6107.jpg photo 1_zps3d84b4c5.jpg photo dash_zps74fe14aa.jpg photo poweroutlet_zps5955560a.jpg photo batteryswitch_zps543b40b8.jpg photo 20eastrear_zps295e6a69.jpg photo 19frame1_zpsaccebc72.jpg photo 16backseat_zps52a4d2b4.jpg photo 15seats_zpsf7edfdf0.jpg photo 14engine_zps587460bd.jpg photo 12passengerfloor_zpsb901c5b2.jpg photo 801c2259-15d9-41ef-aed0-a6351c95840b_zps5c155221.jpg photo MVC-041S_zps88dda379.jpg photo MVC-033S_zpsa897c6cb.jpg photo MVC-030S_zps0a12947d.jpg photo MVC-026S_zps57474982.jpg photo MVC-024S_zps1edb8122.jpg photo MVC-021S_zpsd95360a0.jpg photo MVC-020S_zps969134a6.jpg photo MVC-019S_zpsfea370a6.jpg

Stellantis will enter joint venture with Samsung SDI for EV batteries

Tue, Oct 19 2021

SEOUL — South Korean battery maker Samsung SDI Co Ltd and global automaker Stellantis NV have agreed to jointly produce electric vehicle (EV) batteries for the North American market, a person familiar with the matter said on Tuesday. Samsung SDI, an affiliate of South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics, already has EV battery plants in South Korea, China and Hungary, which supply customers such as BMW and Ford. "The two companies (Samsung SDI and Stellantis) have struck a MOU (memorandum of understanding) to produce EV batteries for North America," the person with knowledge of the matter told Reuters. The source spoke of condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter. The person said the location of the battery joint venture is under review and will be announced later. In July, Reuters reported that Samsung SDI may build a battery plant in the United States, citing a company source. South Korea's Yonhap news agency earlier reported the two companies plan to build a factory in the United States, citing industry sources. Samsung SDI and Stellantis did not have immediate comment when reached by Reuters. Stellantis on Monday struck a preliminary deal with battery maker South Korea's LG Energy Solution (LGES) to produce battery cells and modules for North America. Shares of Samsung SDI were up 2.6% as of 0300 GMT, versus a 0.6% rise in the KOSPI benchmark index. Stellantis and Foxconn's new joint venture will focus on connectivity

Wed, May 19 2021

MILAN — Carmaker Stellantis and TaiwanÂ’s Foxconn announced plans to develop a jointly operated automotive supplier focusing on technology to make vehicles more connected, including artificial intelligence-based applications and 5G communications. Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said the services that will be developed through the tie-up “will mark the next great evolution of our industry,” alongside fully electrified and hybrid powertrains. The deal brings together Stellantis, the worldÂ’s 4th-largest automaker formed this year by the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and PSA Peugeot, and Foxconn, a major supplier of iPhones. The companies said the venture would focus on such services as infotainment, the integration of telecommunications and computer systems, artificial intelligence-based applications, 5G communications, e-commerce channels and smart cockpit integration. The companies announced a non-binding memorandum of understanding to form a 50-50 joint venture called Mobile Drive, which will be based in the Netherlands and function as an automotive supplier also to other carmakers. The new venture will combine advanced consumer electronics, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) to create new services “that will exceed customer expectations,” the companies said in a release. “Customers today and, in the future, demand and expect ever-increasing software-driven and creative solutions to connect the drivers and passengers with the vehicle inside and out,Â’Â’ Foxconn Chairman Young Liu. Total auto recalls already on record pace in 2014

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

If you've noticed that there have been more recalls than usual this year, you may be on to something. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the US market is on pace to break a record for recalls. In 2013, 22 million cars were recalled. We're only a third of the way through 2014, though, and we've already halved that figure, with 11 million units recalled. That's wild.
Considering the past few months, it shouldn't be a surprise that General Motors is leading the charge, with six million of the 11 million units recalled coming from one of the General's four brands. Between truck recalls, CUV recalls and the ignition switch recall, 2014 hasn't been a great year for GM.
Other recall leaders include Nissan (one million Sentra and Altima sedans), Honda (900,000 Odyssey minivans), Toyota (over one million units in a few recalls), Volkswagen (150,000 Passat sedans), Chrysler (644,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs) and most recently, Ford (434,000 units, the bulk of which were early Ford Escape CUVs). So while it's been a bad year for GM so far, its competitors aren't doing too well, either.
