Jeep is 95%. Runs, drives, stops fine. Needs some small things like horn not working, tail light out, and parking lights not working. The heater box is out of it, but I have it. There is no soft top for it. I do have a Steel Horse hard top that I bought. Needs cleaned up and I assume it will fit, as it's for a CJ5. I can include that for what I paid, $275.00. I can tow this for free up to 50 miles so it's no problem getting it home to you. I can tow it for $1 per mile, up to 150 miles. This Jeep is a pretty good Jeep for the price I'm asking. The tub is fiberglass, so no rust!!!!!. The front end is metal with no rust. I bought the Jeep like this. Hood and fenders look to have been new. Windshield is good with one rust spot. No cracks in windshield. Inside of tub has herculiner. Paint looks pretty good, but is not perfect. There is a run on the hood. The front of the hood and fenders has some type of black liner on it. There is a few normal paint chips. Some how there is some black paint overspray in it. If I have a chance, I will get that off. Overall, I think the paint does look okay. In the engine compartment, Jeep has a new aluminum radiator, power steering, power brakes, and a nice clean 258 6cyl. I just put a $300 carter 2bbl carb on it, so the engines idles and runs fine. When sitting, there is a puff of smoke upon startup. New exhaust with glass pack. Frame has no rust. I did not paint it red, but it's easy to see how clean this Jeep is. Hard to find a frame with no rust. Jeep has disk brakes in front with new pads. Drum brakes in back with new shoes and hardware. All new brake lines and hoses. New gas tank and fuel gauge works. Jeep has the HD T18 4 speed with granny gear. Dana 20 transfer case. 4wd works good with no noises. Not sure on the lift, but it has Buckshot 33 x 12.5 x 15 tires on wagon wheels. Tread depth is 8 to 10/32's, bought half tread. Interior has low back bucket seats, lap belts, non-working clock, working factory tachometer, fuel gauge, temp gauge, and speedometer. Jeep is located in Coopersburg PA 18036. Call to look at Jeep. |

Fiat 500X poised for Paris catwalk
Wed, 05 Feb 2014We've known for some time that the new, Fiat-based baby Jeep (which may or may not be called the Jeepster) is set to arrive at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. What we weren't sure of was whether its platform mate, the so-called Fiat 500X, would be doing so alongside or at a later date. Well, according to Reuters, we'll get to see the first all-wheel-drive 500 later this year in the City of Lights.
Yes, we can expect the 500X to arrive at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, according to an official with an Italian trade union. The unnamed source cited retooling at Fiat's Melfi factory, in southern Italy, which currently produces the Grande Punto. It's expected that the newest member of the growing 500 family will replace the Suzuki SX4-based Fiat Sedici, although when the X will go on sale remains an open question.
According to Reuters, both the Jeepster and 500X will be built alongside each other in Italy. Whether the 500X will cross the pond with it's slat-grilled cousin, though, remains to be seen (we're leaning towards yes).
Chrysler investigating complaints of vehicles with faulty power modules
Sun, 24 Aug 2014Chrysler owners are hopping mad after experiencing a series of electrical gremlins in some of the company's vehicles. Issues range from mere annoyances - windows rolling down and radios turning off of their own accord - to serious safety issues, with headlights that randomly shut off at night and cars that stall and refuse to start.
The issues are being blamed on the total integrated power module, which can cost up to $1,000 for customers to replace. This, of course, has led to a hefty batch of complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, with 240 owners expressing their displeasure so far. Another site, CarComplaints.com, has registered over 300 complaints relating to the 2010 to 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango, alone, according to The New York Times.
Chrysler has acknowledged that it's investigating the complaints and is analyzing the faulty TIPMs, but that isn't quite enough for customers of the affected vehicles. The newspaper has snagged a few of the more harrowing tales with the electrically challenged Chrysler products, culled from the NHTSA complaints.
Chrysler taking big risk snubbing NHTSA
Wed, 05 Jun 2013Maker Insists Feds Overstate Risk Of Fires With Grand Cherokee, Liberty Models
It's not often that recall stories make it above the fold, in that old newspaper parlance, but when one shows up as the lead story on the network evening news programs, you know it's something big.
And so it is with Chrysler snubbing its nose at a request by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to recall 2.7 million Jeeps the feds insist are at risk of potentially catastrophic fuel tank fires in a rear-end collision.
