1979 JEEP CJ5 V8 304 4SPEED T-18. JEEP RUNS AND DRIVES VERY GOOD.  I AM THE THIRD OWNER OF THIS JEEP. I KNOW THE GUY WHO PURCHASED THIS

JEEP IN 1979 NEW. HE HAD IT UNTIL ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO.  A FRIEND OF MINE HAD IT FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS AND THEN I PURCHASED IT.

ALL THIS STUFF LISTED IS WHAT I HAVE DONE TO IT MYSELF. I WAS LUCKY TO ALREADY HAVE A 1977 CJ5 WITH THE FACTORY

T-18 4 SPEED, BUT MY BODY WAS REALLY BAD.  SO I SWAPPED ALL FACTORY PARTS FROM THE 1977 INTO THIS 1979 CJ5.

IT MAKES AN AWESOME JEEP.  WITH THE FACTORY 304 AND THE NEW 4 SPEED, CRAWLING IN THE MOUNTAINS WAS EXCELLENT.

I HAD THE LOW 4 SPEED FOR CRAWLING BUT NICE HIGHWAY RIDING WITHOUT WINDING MOTOR UP HIGH. GREAT COMBO.

THE MILES ON THE MOTOR I TRULY BELIEVE TO BE ORIGINAL, BECAUSE I KNOW THE ORIGINAL OWNER PERSONALLY.

IT HAS HAD 1 RE-PAINT. 2 SMALL RUST SPOTS IN THE BACK . SEE PICS. OTHER THAN THAT THE FLOOR PANS ARE ORIGINAL AND IN EXCELLENT SHAPE.

HAS SMALL DENT  PASSENGER SIDE FRONT FENDER. REAR AXLE SEAL DRIVER SIDE LEAKS.  BUT I HAVE A DANA 44 JEEP AXLE THAT I WAS

GONNA REPLACE THE AMC 20 WITH, BUT IT NEEDS RING AND PINION GEAR TO MATCH FRONT.  I TRIED TO KEEP AS MUCH ORIGINAL AS I COULD.

MY RESERVE IS LOW FOR HOW MUCH JEEP YOU ARE GONNA GET.

ANY ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK AND I WILL RESPOND ASAP.

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee probed by NHTSA for brake problems

Sun, Jun 7 2015

Remember how Toyota got in all kinds of trouble over unintended acceleration? Well, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating Jeep over unintended braking. NHTSA has announced a probe of 20,000 Grand Cherokee SUVs from model year 2014. Nine complaints have been received, with owners alleging that their Jeeps have issued brake warnings or gone ahead and applied the brakes when no threat was presented. Each complaint alleges that the vehicles have exhibited this behavior repeatedly, leading to a "sudden reduction in vehicle speed in traffic." So basically, a system designed to prevent accidents could actually increase the odds of a collision happening. Speaking to the Associated Press, Jeep spokesperson Eric Mayne said owners whose vehicles are exhibiting this behavior should report to dealers, while adding that the automatic braking/adaptive cruise control systems can be deactivated. Related Video: Scroll down for the official bulletin on the investigation from NHTSA. Date Investigation Opened: JUN 01, 2015 Date Investigation Closed: Open NHTSA Action Number: PE15021 Component(s): FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Manufacturer: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) SUMMARY: The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received nine complaints alleging inappropriate activations of the autonomous braking system in model year (MY) 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. All nine reports alleged unexpected braking incidents preceded by collision imminent brake warnings and resulting in sudden reduction in vehicle speed in traffic. Two complaints reported autonomous braking incidents with no objects on the road resulting in rapid increase in brake force and anti-lock braking system (ABS) activations. The complaints alleged experiencing multiple events at different locations and road conditions. A Preliminary Evaluation has been opened to assess the frequency, scope and consequences of the alleged defect. Sunday Drive: Taking a gaze into the automotive crystal ball

Sun, Oct 22 2017

Mankind has long been fascinated by the future. So it makes sense that this past week's top stories were all about cars, trucks, and SUVs that won't be hitting the market until the 2019 model year. And right at the top of the list is the Ram 1500. We've come to know Ram as the truck maker that styles its pickups with cues cribbed from big rigs, but that look has slowly evolved over time into something uniquely its own. The next Ram 1500 continues this trend, with a newly refined look that we can't wait to see in person. Up next is the 2019 Chevy Silverado. Pickup trucks have been, continue to be, and will remain the best-selling vehicles in America. And General Motors is a leader in the field, with two distinct offerings with which to entice buyers, one from the bread-and-butter Chevrolet brand and one wearing the slightly more upscale GMC badge. The Chevy looks to get LED lighting elements for 2019, which ought to keep the truck from looking dated when compared to the Ford F-150 and the previously mentioned Ram 1500. From there we move past pickup trucks and into SUVs and sedans. The 2019 Jeep Cherokee looks to get toned down a bit with its next refresh, and the '19 BMW 3 Series continues its slow evolutionary journey at the top of its aspirational sales pedestal. Finally, spy shots give way to official production reveals for the 2019 Audi A7 and Polestar 1. This pair of European luxury cars won't compete with one another – one is a rakish hatchback and the other a sports coupe – any further than for the eyeballs of our readers, but both proved popular enough to merit inclusion in our weekly roundup. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2019 Ram 1500 spotted without the classic crosshairs 2019 Chevy Silverado spied with new LED accents 2019 Jeep Cherokee reveals a much more normal face 2019 BMW 3 Series spy shots reveal production lights, new interior details 2019 Audi A7 revealed: More torque, refined styling Polestar 1 First Look | The 600 horsepower hybrid Scandinavian Green Audi BMW Chevrolet Jeep RAM Volvo Truck Hatchback SUV Future Vehicles Hybrid Luxury Performance Sedan sunday drive polestar 1

Jeep Wrangler likely to get aluminum body, will stay in Toledo

Mon, 27 Oct 2014

Perhaps more than any other vehicle currently for sale in the United States, the Jeep Wrangler is viewed by purist fans as a vehicle that simply must maintain the status quo. In this case, that means a body-on-frame design, solid axles, a relatively large engine sitting up front and a removable top. It's always been that way, and it always will be.
Maybe.
According to the most recent reports, the next-generation Jeep will continue to soldier forth with a full steel chassis underneath its stamped bodywork. The biggest change, reports Automotive News, will be that said panels will be hewn from aluminum instead of steel, a seismic shift of a transition not unlike what's happened with the new Ford F-150. Because it won't be a unibody, the SUV will likely continue to be assembled in Toledo, OH as it (almost) always has been - the latter has been a source of heartburn in recent weeks for the Northwestern city in the Buckeye State.
