1978 Jeep Cj5 Chevy V8 Currie Dana 60 And Ford 9in Custom Frame 37's on 2040-cars
Coopersburg, Pennsylvania, United States
I will be listing this Jeep 1 time. If It does not sell, I will keep it and work on it over the winter. Like most Jeeps, this one needs some minor things to be 100% I just don't have time for the Jeep right now. I own 7 Jeeps. Every Jeep has a story and so does this one. The person that re-built the Jeep was in NY. He sold it to a guy in DE. The Jeep had a Chevy 406 small block with over 500hp. Way too much for a tall CJ5. That person took the 406 out and sold it to me with a Chevy 305 V8. I suggest you look at the Jeep if you are serious and close enough by. It's garage kept in Coopersburg PA 18036. Clear title in my name. Jeep can be shipped. YOU MAKE ALL THE ARRANGEMENTS. There will be a $300 fee on top for shipping. The shipper normally comes on a week day and I need to take off work. Shipper cannot make it to my rural house, so I have to pay someone to rollback it to a shopping center. Jeep is not insured, registered, or inspected. It will pass, except I don't think the horn is hooked up. Now for the Jeep: Had a brand new frame, no rust. Think it's by Advance Frame Works, over 2k Unknown make fiberglass body and front end. Nice paint, except drivers fender needs repaint. Nice Best top soft top and soft doors. Currie built Shaved Ford 9 inch front rear, Detroit Locker, 3.73 gears Currie built Hi Pinion Dana 60, disk brakes, e brake, Detroit Locker, 3.73 gears These rears over 9k for the pair. They look brand new yet. Custom front shaft, CV rear shaft Has stainless hinges and mirrors Custom front bumper with 11k Quadratec Winch and 8 inch Hella lights Custom rear bumper with tire carrier. I have a brand new 37in MTR for it, but no rim. A rim is $70. Bumpers and winch/lights $1500 Oversize 25 gallon fuel tank, custom skid, reverse lights, LED rock lights, sunken rear tail lights, Rocker Gaurds Vanco power brake system, stops awesome with 4 wheel disc, over $500 Aluminum radiator with electric fan, over $700 GM SM465 granny 4 speed trans with adapter to Dana 300 twin sticked, 1k for that setup with adapter New flywheel, Center Force clutch, hedders, nice custom Flow Master exhaust system out the rear Chevy 305. I don't know much about the motor. Motor runs good, has new 327/350hp cam, new oil pan, new holley 600, HEI distributor. Motor actually surprised me with the power, new plugs, MSD wire, cap and rotor. The oil pan is dry and so is the rear main seal. The power steering pump has a leak at the rear connection and I think the valve cover has a leak. Interior has a custom dash, but is missing 2 gauges. Wires are there for the gauges. Needs Volt and temp gauge. Oil pressure is 60 - 80lbs when running. PAINLESS wiring harness Tilt wheel, tuffy steel center console with a CD player and amp. Speakers in dash and on the floor. Seat covers are a little faded, there are harnesses for seatbelts. Has a rear seat Has a full roll cage tied into the frame. The spreader bars are too far in and right over your head. Bars need to be mover toward the outside. Rims are brand new steel $300 Tires are Goodyear MTR. The 4 on the Jeep all have over 1/2 tread and they are radial 37 x 12.5 x 17 spare is Brand New Has a AGR steering box and borgenson steering shaft $500 Dual shocks up front, dual stabilizers Has working heater I'm sure there is more I'm missing. Needs rollbar spreaders moved, some gauges in dash, stereo wires hooked up. Needs battery The AGR box is a quick ratio. I can sit at idle and turn the steering wheel with my pinky and turn the 37's. This makes for some touching steering while going down the road. I would put a stock box in and sell that AGR. I can drive it, I've had over 20 Jeeps. I had a computer alignment and it's right on. Fix the one or two small leaks. Oil pan and rear main is good, don't think intake is leaking. Original owner lifted the Jeep with spring under springs. The pack consists of 12 leafs. Also has about 1 1/2inch body lift. I would take some springs out of the pack or just buy 4 new BDS springs and drop it down a little. That's an honest description of this Jeep. I have 100 percent feedback. The frame and rears are less then the starting bid. Like I said, I will keep it if it doesn't sell and work on it over the winter. I do have a trailer. I can deliver the Jeep, with full payment, up to 150 miles for $2 a loaded mile. Can store, with full payment for up to 2 weeks. |

Marchionne says no offers are on the table for Fiat Chrysler
Sun, Sep 3 2017MONZA, Italy (Reuters) - Fiat Chrysler (FCA) has not received any offer for the company nor is the world's seventh-largest carmaker working on any "big deal", Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne said on Saturday. Speaking on the sidelines of the Italian Formula One Grand Prix, Marchionne said the focus remained on executing the company's business plan to 2018. Asked whether FCA had been approached by someone or whether there was an offer on the table, he simply said: "No." The company's share price jumped to record highs last month after reports of interest for the group or some of its brands from China. China's Great Wall Motor Co Ltd openly said it was interested in FCA, but had not held talks or signed a deal with executives at the Italian-American automaker. The stock move was also helped by expectations that the company might separate from some of its units. Marchionne reiterated on Saturday that FCA was working on a plan to "purify" its portfolio and that units, such as the components businesses, would be separated from the group. He hopes to complete that process by the end of 2018. "There are activities within the group that do not belong to a car manufacturer, for example the components businesses. The group needs to be cleared of those things," he told journalists. Asked whether an announcement could come this year, Marchionne said it was up to the board to decide and that it would next meet at the end of September. He said the time was not right for a spin-off of luxury brand Maserati and premium Alfa Romeo and the two brands needed to become self-sustainable entities first and "have the muscle to stand on their feet, make sufficient cash". "The way we see it now, it's almost impossible, if not impossible, to see a spin-off of Alfa Romeo/Maserati, these are two entities that are immature and in a development phase," he said. "It's the wrong moment, we are not in a condition to do it." He said the concept of separating the two brands from FCA's mass market business made sense and did not rule out this happening in future, but not under his tenure, which lasts until April 2019. "If there is an opportunity in future, it would certainly happen after I'm gone. It won't happen while Marchionne is around," he said.
Autoblog Minute: FCA issues Uconnect software update amid hacking fears
Wed, Jul 29 2015Carjacking has gone wireless, as automakers and Congress scramble for a solution after a disturbing video on Wired showed a pair of researchers controlling a Jeep Cherokee remotely. Autoblog's Adam Morath and David Gluckman report on this edition of Autoblog Minute. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] Carjacking has gone wireless, as automakers and Congress scramble for a solution. I'm Adam Morath and this is your Autoblog Minute. Cars with wireless connections are susceptible to remote hacking, as demonstrated in a disturbing video on Wired.com. The segment showed two researchers remotely controlling a Jeep Cherokee, including running vehicle's the wipers, turning up the music, and ultimately shutting down [00:00:30] the Jeep while it was being driven on the highway by Wired senior writer Andy Greenberg. Washington took note. A press release issued from the desks of senators Ed Markey and Richard Blumenthal introduces legislation protecting drivers from auto security privacy risks. Fiat Chrysler, parent company of Jeep, has a solution for its customers. For more we go to Autoblog's David Gluckman. [GLUCKMAN INTERVIEW] Chrysler has worked with the Uconnect cellular provider Sprint to plug security holes on the carrier side. The vehicles themselves can't be updated wirelessly, so [00:01:00] the remaining changes require physical access. For that, customers have three options: One, download the Uconnect software update to a USB stick and install. Two, wait for FCA to send a USB stick with the latest software that they can install, or third, visit a dealer. Owners should do what they're most comfortable with. I made a video that walks through the whole process from download to install and it took about a half hour. [MORATH] David's full video tutorial of how to install the Uconnect fix can be seen on Autoblog. [00:01:30] It remains to be seen how the rest of the auto industry will respond to these security risks. For Autoblog, I'm Adam Morath. Fiat-based baby Jeep spotted testing in US and Europe
Thu, 03 Oct 2013Details remain scarce, but our spy photographers have managed to capture the upcoming Jeep B-segment crossover for the first time, testing in both the Alps and in the US. Shown here as a cobbled-together Fiat 500L mule, the new Jeep model is expected to arrive for the 2015 model year and act as a replacement for the current Compass and Patriot models.
According to our shooter, the new "baby Jeep" will share a platform with the Fiat 500X, and both models will be built on the same assembly line in Turin, Italy. We can't tell much from these images, but the added length apparent on this 500L mule would seem to dispel the recent speculation that the new entry-level Jeep model would be sized closer to the Ford Fiesta - since the 500L is already considerably larger than the Fiesta. Powertrain options will likely mirror other Fiat/Chrysler collaborative vehicles like the Dodge Dart, but this Jeep will also try to live up to its off-road roots with an optional all-wheel-drive system.
