1978 Jeep Cj-7 Renegade Levi Amc Original 304 V8!!! on 2040-cars
Ashland, Missouri, United States
This is a rust-free, honest, and very original (UN-RESTORED) Jeep Levi edition CJ7. I purchased the Jeep from an individual in Idaho. An older gentleman special ordered this particular Levi Jeep new with the very desirable V8 304 transmission, automatic transmission, and the all popular Firecracker Red AMC paint (See attached picture of ad from 1978)!! The Jeep spent its entire life on a ranch located in Idaho (documented 50k original miles). The original owner noticed a magazine ad and wanted an original Levi edition Jeep like the one advertised (see photographed ad and paperwork- fascinating story). The decals and paint are TOLEDO, OHIO ASSEMBLY PLANT ORIGINAL... not aftermarket or a re-paint (spot welds and dimples are present)! The drive-train, spark plug wires, LEVI seats, and dash are flawless. The undercarriage is nearly as clean as the body and tub. There is no rust-rot anywhere on the jeep. Only surface rust in front passenger's floorboard (see pictures). If you know Jeeps, you know just how rare this vehicle is. If your looking for an original Jeep Levi, this is your Jeep. Please refer to all the pictures for a detailed review of this vehicle. Owners manual and paperwork included. This Jeep drives straight down the roadway without ANY road wonder or steering wheel play. In fact, its the nicest Jeep CJ I have ever driven (and I have driven my fare share). This vehicle is truly a time capsule and gets compliments wherever she goes. It's only original once! It’s a high optioned Jeep CJ Levi Renegade Original factory AMC JEEP radio (working) Power steering Power brakes Tilt wheel Original paint and original factory decals (some sun fading and cracking) Original interior uncut original dash Original white factory spoke 15x8 wheels (repainted and pin-striped). Please call for further details and pictures. Please call before accepting or making an offer. Brad 573-808-2180 |

NHTSA closes investigation on 4.7M FCA power modules, no recall
Thu, Jul 30 2015FCA US hasn't had the best time with recalls as of late. Not only did the company recently agree to greater safety oversight and paid $105 million to the government, that came just days after hacking fears prompted a 1.4-million model recall campaign. However, a recent decision to close an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration means that the automaker doesn't have to worry about another major recall possibly affecting 4.7 million vehicles, according to the agency's report (as a PDF). Last September, the Center for Auto Safety petitioned NHTSA to investigate an alleged problem with the totally integrated power module (TIPM) on these FCA US models. The group claimed that a fault with the component could cause a variety of maladies, including stalls, not starting, catching fire, unintended acceleration, and airbag non-deployment. At the time, it also submitted 70 cases where this had reportedly happened. According to NHTSA, "no valid evidence was presented in support of claims related to airbag non-deployment, unintended acceleration, or fire resulting from TIPM faults and these claims were found to be wholly without merit based on review of the field data and design of the relevant systems and components." The agency did find signs of an issue with the fuel pump relay in some Jeep Grand Cherokees and Dodge Durangos, but FCA US issued recalls for the problem in September 2014 and February 2015. Without anything else to go on, the Feds don't think it's worth investigating this topic any more.
2015 Ford F-150 named Truck of Texas, Lincoln and Jeep also awarded at Truck Rodeo
Tue, 14 Oct 2014The Ford Motor Company has a lot of reasons to celebrate after winning eight categories in this year's Texas Auto Writers Association's annual Truck Rodeo. Most important among them, the Blue Oval's latest 2015 Ford F-150 earned the prestigious Truck of Texas award, ending the Ram 1500's two-year winning streak. The 2015 Lincoln MKC also grabbed the honor as the CUV of Texas, and Ford was named Truck Line of Texas.
FoMoCo even took trophies for best technology with its extensive use of aluminum on its latest F-Series and best commercial vehicle for the new Transit 250. It wasn't a total sweep, though, because the Jeep Grand Cherokee grabbed the title of the SUV of Texas for the fifth straight time.
This year's event put 60 auto writers in 75 pickups, SUVs and crossovers and challenged them to find the best in a plethora of categories. All of the winners are listed below, and scroll down to read the full announcements from the Texas Auto Writers Association and Ford.
YouTube tallies votes for this year's top five Super Bowl spots [w/video]
Tue, 19 Feb 2013When we asked you to tell us which of this year's 16 car-themed Super Bowl commercials you liked best, you chose the Farmer commercial from Chrysler Group, advertising the Ram trucks, over Audi's Prom commercial in second place. Turns out the voters in YouTube's Ad Blitz poll agreed, voting the same commercial to the number one spot from among the field commercials in every category.
From there, however, they went in a totally different direction. Budweiser's The Clydesdales spot came second, Samsung's The Next Big Thing took third. The Jeep Whole Again ad scored fourth in the YouTube poll, fifth in our poll of auto commercials, and the Hyundai Team spot got fifth from the YouTubers, but ninth in our poll.
The voting results don't match up with the viewing numbers, though - while Farmer has more than 13 million views, The Next Big Thing is well beyond 21 million. You can read the press release below and see all five spots, lined up for you, one more time.
