for sale here is charlie our 1975 cj5. i bought this jeep a few years back for weekend outings in the mountains and it has served us well. I have never put a tag on it we always trailer to the camp site and use the jeep from there. this little jeep has a very strong 304 V8 with an AL6 MSD and Billet distributor. the motor also has a edelbrock intake and 4 barrel carburetor. there is a rebuild tag on the block so the motor has been replaced but i didn't do it and don't know who did. the motor doesnt leak or use oil. it has power steering but you have to top it up every once in a while.I put a painless wiring harness in it head light to tail and all electrics work as designed including blinkers and hazards. the speedo doesn't work although i have a new one in the shop i will let go with it.Currently there is a plastic fuel cell in the back for gas but i have a new in the box factory gas tank that goes with it. i also have a few marker light lens and dash label lights and such you can have as well. the frame is solid no issues to note the body has bumps and bruises but isnt a complete rust bucket either. the back floor has been replaced with a sheet of heavy metal and works well for me. the rear axle has a Lincoln locker and for those that don't know what that is you take a Lincoln wielder and wield the spider gears up and it is always locked. it is removable and can be returned to factory with a few new parts. The tires are pretty bad they will hold air all day for riding but a couple might leak down over night. I never put tires on it cause they always worked just fine as much as we drove it. this jeep has a 10,000 lb remote control winch on it that i will sell for $250 over the sell price or take it off and keep it if you don't want it. if you have any questions please feel free to send them. this is a fun little toy full of power and has been very reliable to us. I will assist you in transporting this home either load on your trailer or deliver for fee to be discussed with deal. thanks good luck (the mileage indicated on here is just a number to satisfy ebay the speedo doesn't work and i have no idea how many miles are on it).

Stellantis and LG launch joint venture for North American battery plant

Mon, Oct 18 2021

Stellantis has struck a preliminary deal with battery maker LG Energy Solution (LGES) to produce battery cells and modules for North America, as the world's No. 4 automaker rolls out its 30 billion euro ($35 billion) electrification plan. Global automakers are investing billions of euros to accelerate a transition to low-emission mobility and prepare for a progressive phase-out of internal combustion engines. Stellantis and LGES's joint venture will produce battery cells and modules at a new facility with an annual capacity of 40 gigawatt hours (GWh), the two firms said on Monday. No financial details of the deal were provided. The plant is scheduled to start production by the first quarter of 2024, with groundbreaking expected in the second quarter of 2022, the companies said in their statement. Its location is under review and will be announced later. Stellantis, formed in January from the merger of Italian-American automaker Fiat Chrysler and France's PSA, has said it wants to secure more than 130 GWh of global battery capacity by 2025 and more than 260 GWh by 2030. The batteries produced under the deal will supply Stellantis' U.S., Canadian and Mexican assembly plants for installation in hybrid and fully electric vehicles, supporting its goal of e-vehicles making up more than 40% of its U.S. sales by 2030. The company, whose brands include Peugeot, Fiat, Opel and U.S. best-sellers Jeep and Ram, earlier this year announced it would invest more than 30 billion euros through 2025 on electrifying its vehicle lineup. Stellantis has said it would build three battery plants in Europe and two in North America, including at least one in the United States. Intesa Sanpaolo analyst Monica Bosio said the deal was positive, and a further step ahead in Stellantis' electrification process. It comes weeks after Stellantis and its partner TotalEnergies agreed to open up their battery cell joint venture ACC to Daimler, to expand their European sourcing of battery cells. Stellantis is also targeting more than 70% of sales in Europe to be of low-emission vehicles by 2030, and aims to make the total cost of owning an EV equal to that of a gasoline-powered model by 2026. FCA's Pentastar V6 gets more power, efficiency for 2016

Wed, Sep 2 2015

Already a vital member of FCA's powertrain lineup, the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 is receiving major efficiency improvements for 2016. Thanks to a massive amount of new tech attached to the mill, fuel economy is up six percent, and torque below 3,000 rpm jumps nearly 15 percent. The updates arrive first in the 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but they should proliferate to other models eventually. At least in the Grand Cherokee, the tweaks push power up five horsepower to 295 ponies. FCA's engineers went through the Pentastar from top to bottom to eke out as much efficiency as possible. For example, there's now a two-speed variable-valve lift system that can run in low- or high-lift modes. This upgrade is responsible for 2.7-percent better economy, the company claims. A new intake manifold with longer runners and updated variable-valve times also helps boost the torque output. Further improvements come from pushing the compression ratio to 11.3:1, from 10.2:1 before. Perhaps most impressive is that despite all of the innovations, the latest Pentastar actually weighs four pounds less than the current version. Beyond the Pentastar improvements, all of the FCA US gasoline engines, except for the Viper's 8.4-liter V10, will be E15-compatible for 2016. The company says that it wants to be ready for the higher ethanol content fuel's greater use in the near future.
