1970 Jeep Cj5 on 2040-cars
Brimfield, Massachusetts, United States
This is a rare 1970 Jeep CJ5 built by Kaiser Motors in Toledo Ohio, it has the original Buick Dauntless 225 CID V6. This is a project I started but I have found myself out of work and I need to sell it. It has a Warner T-86AA 3 speed transmission, Dana Spicer 44 rear axle, Dana 27 front axle, Spicer 18 transfer case all of which work perfect, it has 34" tires with a spare included. The tub has been all rebuilt with new steel, undercoated with no rust, runs and drives as it should, and has a working 4 way plow. Many new parts drivers side floor, passenger side floor, rear cargo area floor, and frame supports, new gas tank sending unit and gas gauge, master cylinder all 4 wheel cylinders all new brake lines, new speedometer cable will need a new speedometer, new fuel pump and fuel line, new water pump and hoses, new voltage regulator, new directional switch, new tail and back up lights, and a new heater core. The lights all work, the wipers work, the horn works, the heat works, but it will need a radio. It has a clean Massachusetts title, and will need fenders and an exhaust Y pipe. It comes with a 4 way plow, a hard top with steel doors with roll up windows, and a set of headers if you wish to install them. To finish it up a new Y pipe, speedometer, and fenders will be required, then paint. This is rare and is a beast, I have 3400 dollars invested in parts, my reserve is set at 3000, thanks for looking. It will also come with a bunch of spare parts, and a Chilton repair manual.

Jeep Grand Cherokee in headliner fire probe
Fri, 23 Aug 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching an investigation into 146,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs from the 2012 model year, The Detroit News reports. This comes as the result of the government safety agency receiving three complaints from owners who cited fires inside the Jeep's cabin.
According to the report, NHTSA says:
"The customers reported a burning odor and visible smoke coming from the headliner while the vehicle was being driven. This was followed by flames from the headliner itself. Customers lowered the windows in an effort to clear the smoke but this increased the fire's intensity. All three vehicles had to be extinguished with a fire extinguisher or by the fire department as they continued to burn after the vehicle was turned off."
Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango to lose color options temporarily
Wed, 19 Nov 2014In the market for a Jeep Grand Cherokee or Dodge Durango? Well, if you fancy a more expressive color for your new SUV, you'd better get your order in, or plan on waiting until well into 2015.
The SUVs will be limited to just four monochromatic shades - black, white, silver and gray - until at least February, thanks to an upgrade to the paint shop at the two vehicles' Jefferson North factory. For the Grand Cherokee, that means it's losing more than half its color palette while the Durango is dropping two-thirds of its color catalog.
The loss of colors is inconvenient, but the upgrade will have a slightly bigger effect on the overall supply of SUVs, as Chrysler will need to end its relentless build pace at the factory for a three-week shutdown starting on December 22. The good news for fans of the SUVs is that once the work is completed, we should see a gradual expansion of the color palettes for both the Durango and Grand Cherokee, beyond even what's offered now.
