1970 Cj5 4x4 Fiberglass Body With Plow No Reserve on 2040-cars
Niles, Michigan, United States
No Reserve- highest bid gets it! This is a very good CJ5 that I use strictly for
plowing. It has a rebuilt F-134
4-cylinder engine, although I have no idea when it was rebuilt or how many
miles or hours are on it. It runs very
strong, but does burn some oil. It
starts every time and runs very well. It
has a rebuilt carburetor, new fuel pump, new battery, new plugs, new wires, new
cap, new coil, and has been converted to electronic ignition. The lights work, and so does the heater…
although no top or doors are included. I
only used it for plowing, and have never driven it on the road. It would need some work to be road worthy, so
plan on trailering it home. The brakes
could use some attention, and the
transmission may have a syncro out or something because it only goes into first
and reverse gears. I haven’t looked into
it because I didn’t need 2nd or 3rd gears anyway. I do have another transmission that will go
with the Jeep, however I know nothing about the condition of it. The 4-wheel drive works and I have brand new
Mile Marker hubs for it, only one set is installed. The other lockout on it is the original Warn
and still works just fine. The tires are
newer Bridgestone Blizzak’s and show virtually no wear. The plow is a Western 6’-6” I believe, and
has the cylinders for angling it however they are not hooked up. You have to manually angle the plow right now,
but they could be made to work. I have
some hardware for that. The up and down
cylinder works as it should. The body is
fiberglass, except for the steel hood and windshield frame. The CJ
is pretty in its own way, and gets a lot of attention from the plow guys with
newer trucks. Please ask any questions
before bidding. If you’re local, I
encourage you to come take a look at it.
It’s a plow vehicle and it would need “A LOT” of work to restore it. Clear Michigan title in my name. |

Jeep Wrangler Polar Edition coming to America
Wed, 23 Oct 2013Jeep originally took the wraps off its Polar Edition Wrangler at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, and at the time, we figured this would be a Europe-only affair. (Perfectly fine, since we US customers haven't exactly been lacking special edition Wrangler models over the years.) But now, and as Jeep says, just in time for winter, the automaker has announced that the ice cold Wrangler will be hitting North American showrooms in November.
Based on the Wrangler Sahara model, the Polar Edition can be had in either two- or four-door body styles, with a unique Hydro Blue paint job as the featured color. (Buyers can also opt for less-special Billet Silver and Bright White hues.) Other exterior enhancements include a body-colored hardtop, 18-inch gloss black wheels, the Powerdome (power bulge) hood, and unique decals all around the body.
But the Polar Edition isn't just about some paint and stickers. Jeep has fitted this Wrangler with a Dana 30 front axle and Dan 44 rear axle, as well as the Trac-Lok anti-spin electronic rear differential. Like all US-spec Wranglers, the Polar Edition uses Jeep's 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, producing 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Both a six-speed manual and five-speed automatic transmission are available.
2014 Jeep Cherokee flaunts its new contemporary curves
Wed, 27 Mar 2013
Only slightly more than one month ago, undisguised (and less-than-flattering) shots of the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee were leaked online. Later that day, in an effort to suppress the uprising, Jeep countered with its own official photography offering us much clearer front and three-quarter views. We've been left to digest those pictures for weeks.
Now, mere hours before the fabric comes sliding off its newest mid-size sport-utility at its live reveal at the New York Auto Show, Jeep has released dozens of new images showing all four corners, plus a few interior shots, of its new Cherokee.
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel and SRT climb onto stage
Mon, 14 Jan 2013This is indeed a case of not knowing how much we wanted something until it arrived. We've been big fans of the Jeep Grand Cherokee ever since the new model arrived a couple of years ago, and while the update you see here might seem just a slight refresh, it's actually much more than that.
For starters, the 2014 Grand Cherokee marks the return of a diesel model here in the States, with Chrysler's new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 under the hood, churning out 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Of course, all of the Grand Cherokee's usual off-road goodies are on hand, with moderate tweaks to make it an even more capable vehicle when the going gets rough. Both the gasoline-fed 3.6-liter V6 and 5.7-liter V8 get the new eight-speed auto, as well.
The high-performance Grand Cherokee SRT also trudges on into the new model year, with very subtle tweaks found underneath the aggressive, slightly redesigned sheetmetal. The 6.4-liter Hemi V8 also gets eight-speed gearing, which Chrysler says will improve not only 0-60 times, but mid-range performance as well. Bring it on, we say.
