Selling a 1947 Willys jeep that has been restored. The restoration process was mostly completed but due to back trouble I was unable to complete everything. This was a body off restoration (see photos) and the body and frame were gone over for any repairs or replacement parts. I have two tires that match the front tires in size and will go with the jeep. The two military tires in the photos do not go with this jeep but are available for purchase separately and are brand new. The engine runs great and running gears are good. The clutch  disc is new as well as the solenoid, starter switch, shift knobs, hood latches, tail lights, paint, plug wires, park lights, many bolts and nuts, master brake cylinder, wiring harness, etc. Some of the restoration is not done. There is no glass in the windshield frame. The generator wires not hooked up, some gauges not working, no speedo cable, no e-brake lever (I have), brakes not bled, fuel tank not hooked up, radiator not bolted down, blinkers not hooked up (wiring is there for tank, horn, tail lights, etc. Ignition is wired up and working great. Headlights, tail lights and park lights all working good. As I said, I have back problems and cannot finish the project but it is mostly complete and a lot of work has been done as you can imagine. The Jeep comes with a bill of sale only. Lots of these old jeeps never had titles but they can be had with a little effort. If someone hits the "Buy it Now" the payment in full is due right then. Otherwise, a $500 down payment is due within 24 Hrs of winning the bid. Paypal is the preferred method of payment. Look, ask questions if you want, and bid up this nice, nearly complete restoration of a 1947 Willys Jeep CJ2A. Thanks for looking.

Jeep: Beautiful Lands

Mon, Feb 2 2015

Jeep emphasized the global nature of its all-new Renegade in a 90-second spot during the 2015 Super Bowl. Starting out in America, and with This Land is Your Land playing in the background, the spot splices images of the all-new Renegade with scenery from across the United States. As a global product and the first Jeep built outside the US, though, the spot quickly moves beyond America's borders, showing Renegades, people and scenery from around the globe. As for the Renegade, you can read all about it in our First Drive.

Freak accident during Jeep demonstration turns fatal

Mon, 20 May 2013

A 20-year-old woman was killed in Edmonton, Canada on Satuday, reports CTV News, in a freak accident resulting from a rollover during a Jeep demonstration. As part of a fundraising enthusiast event called "Jeeps Go Topless," the driver of one Jeep Wrangler drove up and onto the top of the tire of another.
CTV reports that the owner of the topmost Jeep then switched the vehicle off, posed for pictures and then dismounted from his vehicle. His movement off of the Jeep apparently caused it to tip over, crushing a woman who was on top of an adjacent vehicle. Edmonton police are currently investigating more fully what caused the parking lot accident to occur. Scroll below to watch the CTV News video report about this tragic incident.

2014 Jeep Cherokee: Fall colors tour [w/video]

Thu, Dec 11 2014

The Trailhawk's rugged good looks were right at home against the backdrop of changing seasons. Regardless of where you choose to call home, you've probably seen, or at least heard, about the Pure Michigan ads, showing off all the splendor that the Mitten State has to offer. You can make fun of them all you want (several spoofs already exist), but as a native, I fully stand behind the idea that Michigan is a truly gorgeous place. The western coast along Lake Michigan and the northern half of the Lower Peninsula are seriously pretty, and vastly different from the southeastern area that houses big cities like Detroit, Ann Arbor, Flint, and so on. Beyond that, the Upper Peninsula is the closest you'll get to seeing vast spoils of untouched wilderness, and trust me – it's truly pretty. I've seen the world, but I still feel all warm and fuzzy every time I venture north to experience all the vistas that my own state has to offer. In the autumn months, the changing leaves in Michigan put on quite a display. Sure, this happens all over the world, but we truly embrace autumn in the Wolverine State, and practically every Detroit-based Autoblog staffer has gone on at least one fall colors tour to the northern Lower Peninsula to take it all in. That's exactly what associate multimedia producer Chris McGraw and I did just over a month ago, behind the wheel of our long-term 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The Trailhawk's rugged good looks were right at home against the backdrop of changing seasons, and we opted to capture the whole experience on video for this latest long-term update. The Tunnel of Trees is a picturesque stretch of Michigan's M-119 highway that starts just northeast of Petoskey. As you can see in the video above, the Tunnel of Trees is a picturesque stretch of Michigan's M-119 highway that starts just northeast of Petoskey and follows Lake Michigan's Little Traverse Bay. This winding road through the woods goes on for nearly 30 miles, largely unobstructed by neighborhoods, fueling stations, shops, or roadside fodder, and spits you out at the famous Legs Inn in Harbor Springs. (Top-notch Polish food, if you're hungry.) From there, you can either continue north toward Mackinac City and the Mackinac Bridge that connects Michigan's lower and upper peninsulas, or you can turn around and take in all the goodness again.
