Jaguar Xk8 Verendum on 2040-cars
Berlin, Maryland, United States
1997 Jaguar XK8 Verendum. This car has been a project of mine for the last year. I build supercars from otherwise normal cars. This Jaguar xk8 has been made to look like a Jaguar no one has ever seen. The body was imported from the UK from a company called Paragon Designs. The body alone costs $6500. I also incorporated the new style tail lights on this build. These are Jag XF lights around the back. The body is made of Fiberglass and it is SOLID! The Lambo doors were added to give it that supercar feel. They are from Vertical Doors and were $1200. The wheels are Lexani Lust 20" with Nitto 555 tires wrapped around them. These wheels cost $3800 with the tires. Lastly we did a custom Plasti Dip Spray on it. It is Copper Pearl with black accents. This product can be removed (like taking off a glove) and you can paint it whatever you want. This is a satin finish and is very durable. Plasti Dip $1000 Total exterior totals $12,500 Moving to the interior I recovered the front seats with original Jag leather $1200. New speakers all around Rockford 6.5" $200 and a DVD multimedia Radio from Power Accustic $150. Total interior $1500 Engine runs perfect on this car. New Battery $125, Plugs, Knock Sensors, Oil Pressure sensor and Updated computer. $ 1800 I cut off the rear most silencer and added 4" tips through the rear defuser to give it that new modern look. Exhaust $300 So there you have it a car that will make your friends envious that you have a ONE OF A KIND. Yes You will have the only one of these cars here in the US. I am the only one that had this body shipped in from the UK. Enjoy! |

Tata confirms JLR is looking at NA for new plant
Thu, Feb 26 2015Despite recent rumors to the contrary, Jaguar Land Rover is considering building a factory in North America, though not necessarily in the United States. The confirmation comes directly from former Tata Motors boss and still chairman emeritus Ratan Tata in a conversation with Automotive News. "The company is indeed looking at North America as a location for another plant. Where they locate that plant, in which country or which state they locate, is something they will need to decide," Tata said to AN. The magnate indicated that he wasn't taking part in the decision, though. Rumors of JLR's plans to open a factory in the US go back to at least to 2014. The automaker was reportedly looking to open a plant in the South to produce around 200,000 vehicles a year, and at the time, South Carolina was considered a possible location. However, later speculation made Georgia a likely contender, especially after the state's governor reportedly flew to the UK to pitch the company on the idea. Recently, the business had allegedly changed its mind and had turned the sights towards Austria or Turkey as potential alternatives. JLR is seemingly on a factory building binge at the moment. It opened a new engine plant in the UK late last year and its first manufacturing center in China at about the same time. The latest Land Rover Discovery Sport will also get assembled in Brazil for the local market. Jaguar launches new classic racing series
Fri, 14 Nov 2014One-make racing series have become all the rage for customers who want to actually race their exotic sports cars (or competition-spec versions of them, anyway). Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Aston Martin all offer such programs, and Porsche supports several. Now Jaguar is getting in on the action as well, but instead of turning one of its production models - we're looking at you, F-Type - into a spec racer, it's launching an historic racing series instead.
The 2015 Jaguar Heritage Challenge will be open to cars made by the Leaping Cat marque before 1966, including the C-Type, D-Type, E-Type and Mk I and MkII sedans. The series, which builds on the success of the previous Jaguar E-Type Challenge, will be administered by the Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC) based at Silverstone and will include four races in the UK and one in Europe, with the exact schedule still to be determined.
The program was announced at the launch of the Jaguar Heritage Driving Experience, where Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations director John Edwards was also named chairman of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, replacing former Jaguar managing director Mike O'Driscoll who chaired the organization for the past five years.
1964 Jaguar XKE slinks into Jay Leno's Garage
Wed, 07 Aug 2013The idea of altering a classic Jaguar E-Type might seem preposterous to some, but Jasen Len of XKs Unlimited managed to create a modified 1964 E-Type that stays true to the Jag's timeless design. Just a few months after Jay Leno featured his own original E-Type on Jay Leno's Garage, Len stopped by to show off his custom Jaguar creation.
Starting out with a rust-ravaged body, Len made the car just the way he wanted it to be. He started off with some minor changes to the car's exterior like the Le Mans-inspired racing lights and handmade front bumpers, handmade sills with integrated exhaust and flared rear fenders. Inside, he dropped the floor to make more interior space and reworked the E-Type's styling for more of a modern look. We have to say, if you're going to mess with a Series 1 E-Type, this is the way to do it.
Sadly, even though Len and Leno spend plenty of time talking about the car's 300-horsepower 3.8-liter inline six-cylinder, we never get to hear the car fire up. Check out the JLG video, which is posted below, and as a bonus, enjoy the gallery from Jaguar showing a 1961 E-Type.
