2007 Jaguar Xk Coupe 13,000 Miles. Super Nice on 2040-cars
Palmyra, Pennsylvania, United States
Absolutely beautiful Jaguar XK with 13,100 miles. Adult owned, cherished and cared for like fine jewelry and complete with the luxury and premium sound package options. Never in an accident, title in hand, smoke free car. Wood steering wheel accents, NAV system, super Alpine stereo with 6 disc in dash CD player, dual control air conditioning etc. This has every cool feature you need or would want as far as creature comforts of this caliber of automobile. Here is your opportunity to own this low mileage exquisite machine for a very fair price. People always stop to talk with me at the car shows or when filling her up and just keep commenting on this beautiful car. I certainly agree, so if you have ever wanted a Jag this is the one. Supercar construction with an all-aluminum body that’s built just like a jet fighter. The exotic construction offers a lightweight, fast GT car that has a body that flows elegantly but is also super stiff making it handle like a true exotic car should. It is impressive to drive, stops as good as it goes fast and is aided with its Computer Active Technology Suspension and traction control to allow for great handling, control and ride. Simply, this is a great supercar that does it all. I have always had it serviced by my local Jaguar dealer with no problems. Never driven in any bad weather and it looks new. The only flaw is some raised leather on the small dash above the speedo and is not visible unless you are looking for it. I must reserve the right to end the auction at any time as this car will be listed locally. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but I will help as much as possible. I will consider delivering as an option. A deposit will be required within 48 hours of close of the successful bidder. My job relocation is the only reason I am willing to part with this fantastic automobile. I do love this car very much but think it is better for someone else to enjoy because it would be dishonorable for such a fine machine to sit in storage until my return. |

Lightweight E-Type to show historic side of Jaguar Special Operations in Monterey
Mon, 11 Aug 2014Jaguar has made a lot of great vehicles over the years, but as far as historians are concerned, it still very much lives in the shadow of the original E-Type, small as it was. In its image, Jaguar has made two generations of XK and the new F-Type, but what we have here is the most faithful continuation of the E-Type heritage yet.
Alongside the Range Rover Sport SVR and the F-Type Project 7 (making its US debut), Jaguar Land Rover and its new Special Operations division will roll into Pebble Beach this year with the continuation Lightweight E-Type. Of the 72,500 E-Types which Jaguar built between 1961 and 1975, only a dozen were Lightweight versions, and they remain the most coveted E-Types of all. It originally planned on building 18 examples, though, and five decades later, it's now committed to completing that original production run in faithful detail.
The Lightweight E-Type was based on the standard roadster and was homologated as such, just with some key upgrades to make it lighter and faster. The biggest change, of course, was the lightweight aluminum bodywork that cut 205 pounds off the curb weight. To replicate it, Jaguar took the last example (the only one made in 1964 after the original eleven were made in '63), scanned half its body surface, mirrored it to ensure symmetry and set about reproducing it with the same standard of materials available in the Sixties (and resisting the urge to go with more modern grades of aluminum). 75 percent of the 230 components are made in-house, with the largest stampings outsourced and built on machinery built to Jaguar's specifications off-site.
Jaguar Land Rover opens first overseas factory in China
Wed, 22 Oct 2014Anyone who's a car fan knows that Jaguar and Land Rover cars and trucks all come from the UK. And while we don't doubt that will remain true for the most part, it won't be an absolute truth for long, as the British automaker has just opened its first factory overseas.
Its new plant in Changshu, China, is the result of a $1.8-billion joint venture between JLR and local automaker Chery. It covers some 4.3-million square feet and will, once at peak capacity, produce 130,000 units specifically for the Chinese market, where JLR sells over 100,000 vehicles each year to make it the company's single largest market worldwide.
Production at what's officially known as the Chery Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Company will start with the Evoque, of which one in five globally are currently sold in China. Production will eventually encompass three models. We already know that the Discovery Sport will be next, but the third model line has yet to be announced. JLR has confirmed, however, that the Changshu plant will produce unique models and derivatives specifically for the Chinese market, so we wouldn't be surprised to see a long-wheelbase version of the forthcoming XE or next-generation XF assembled there to satisfy local tastes.
Jaguar working on lighter F-Type with C-X75's twin-charged engine?
Wed, 09 Jul 2014Every automaker has its own agenda when it comes to concept cars. Some roll them out just to showcase where it's heading. Others create them to gauge public opinion for a potential production model. Still others only showcase a concept car to preview a model that's already well underway. Jaguar is just such a company.
In the last several years, Coventry has only produced a handful of concept cars, and each of them - the C-X16 that foreshadowed the F-Type, the C-X17 that previews the upcoming crossover and Project 7 that is now entering limited production - has led straight to the introduction of a new, commercially available model. Except for one: the C-X75.
The extreme lightweight supercar was set to succeed the XJ220 with a number of advanced technologies, but unfortunately Jaguar ended up pulling the plug to watch from the sidelines as McLaren, Ferrari and Porsche got all the attention for their new hybrid hypercars. But that doesn't mean that some of the technologies initially developed for the C-X75 won't find their way into other Jaguar products.
