2001 Jaguar Xk8 Base Convertible 2-door 4.0l on 2040-cars

Year:2001 Mileage:134000 Color: Overall paint and body in good condition
Location:

Vinton, Virginia, United States

Vinton, Virginia, United States

Selling my 2001 Jaguar XK8 convertible.  This is my daily driver and is a good running and driving car.

Interior: Cream color leather interior in good condition.  One small place on drivers seat which was repaired prior to me purchasing the car two years ago.

Exterior: Overall paint and body in good condition.  No rust and only a few minor scratches and parking lot dings.

Mechanical: Engine runs strong, transmission shifts smooth.  Auto door locks do not work which is coming from the passenger side door.  Internet research suggests it is a microswitch in the door, but I don't leave anything valuable in the car and don't lock the doors. The electric top works with no issues.  No other mechanical or electrical issues that I am aware of.  Tires have less than 6K miles on them.

Overall, this is a 13-year old used car which has been driven daily and is not a show car.  If you want a car that will turn heads, this is it.  I have six vehicles and this is the one that I always get complements on.

Jaguar Land Rover puts the freeze on wounded soldier-athletes [w/video]

Mon, 21 Jul 2014

For athletes, the cold is often a powerful ally in treating injures, with RICE (rest, ice, compression and elevation) a popular means of treating muscle pulls, bruising and other common forms of discomfort. Did you know, though, that frosty temps are also popular tools for simply recovering from a rough training session?
Well, we're guessing Jaguar Land Rover knew that, as the British company was kind enough to loan out its climactic testing chamber to Jaco van Gass and Luke Darlington, a pair of veterans wounded in their service to Queen and Country. Van Gass, a former private in the Royal Army, and Darlington, a Royal Marine, are attempting to earn a spot on the British Armed Forces cycling team for the upcoming Invictus Games.
The Games, inspired by the Warrior Games held in the United States, are a sporting competition reserved for injured servicemen and women, either active duty or veterans, and is slated to take place from September 10 to 14 in London's former Olympic venues. Van Gass lost his left arm below the elbow after getting hit by a rocket-propelled grenade (he also suffered from a collapsed lung, punctured internal organs, severe shrapnel and blast wounds, a broken tibia and a fractured knee). Darlington, meanwhile, suffered a traumatic brain injury during action in Afghanistan, and he now suffers from weakness in his right side and cognitive issues.

Jaguar Land Rover building new R&D center for hybrids, EVs, autonomous cars

Wed, 25 Sep 2013

The success of Jaguar Land Rover in recent years has largely been down to a resurgent product lineup, but a recent move into the research and development will see the British-based, Indian-owned brands take the fight to its German rivals more aggressively than ever before.
JLR is investing 50 million pounds ($80,345,000, as of this writing) in a joint R&D center in central England. The move will more than triple its staff dedicated to research, from 150 to 500, with Wolfgang Epple, JLR's Director of Research and Technology telling Automotive News Europe, "In order to play among the big animals in automotive and to be anchored in the mind of customers you have to have offered something unique, to be first in market. We want to be one of the key premier automotive manufacturers."
Jaguar Land Rover's 50-million-pound contribution represents more than half of the 94-million-pound tab, on the so-called National Automotive Innovation Campus. Based at Warwick University, Tata's European Technical Center, Warwick Manufacturing Group and the Higher Education Funding Council, an agency of the British government, are all chipping in for the facility.

Jaguar bringing all-wheel-drive F-Type to LA Auto Show [w/video]

Thu, 06 Nov 2014

Jaguar's big splash at last year's Los Angeles Auto Show was showing off the slinky F-Type Coupe; perhaps one of the loveliest car shapes on the road today. This year the company won't have a show-stopping new design to offer, but the news that all-wheel drive is coming to the F-Type range is, nevertheless, pretty spectacular.
Mixed in with news about a technical partnership between Jaguar and the Bloodhound SSC World Land Speed Record program, the British brand announced this morning that it will show the first AWD F-Type Coupe at the 2014 LA show later this month.
Jaguar tells us that the sure-footed cat, in AWD F-Type R Coupe form, will run from 0-60 miles per hour in just 3.9 seconds, with a limited top speed of 186 mph.
