For your consideration is a beautiful 1998 Jaguar XK8.  I purchased this car from a dealer in Sarasota, Florida in 2012 basically over the phone after seeing photos as it only had 31K miles on it at the time.  I have driven the car for 1-1/2 years and it now has 43K on the odometer.  At the time of purchase I had the car flat-bedded to Miami and the timing tensioner chains replaced with stainless steel guides.  If you know anything about this model and year range, Jaguar used plastic parts on the timing chains for several years and they had quite a few disintegrate which meant engine failure.  You don’t want to purchase one of these cars if this service has not been completed.  I have all receipts for the work.  The car has just been serviced with an oil change, alignment, tires rotated and new wipers installed.  It is not due for a tune till 60K.

When I was purchasing the car the CarFax and Autocheck reports both showed the vehicle had sat long periods of time between the owner’s visits to Florida…some spans of several years showed the car only being driven 750 miles or 1500 at another time.  Because of that I replaced the tires with Kumho Ecsta in the correct size as they seemed to have some flat spots from sitting so long.  The car is in excellent condition overall for being 15 years old.  The mileage is verifiable with carfaxand  Autocheck.  The only area of visible wear at all is the driver’s seat.  There are no holes or tears only some cracking in the leather.  The passenger and rear seats look as new.  All the other leather/vinyl as in armrest and doors is like new.  No flaw or fading in all the woodwork/dash and it's beautiful burl.  Convertible top is in excellent condition and works flawlessly.  The car has chrome wheels and full sized spare tire in the boot.  The convertible top boot cover is still in the it’s black bag in the trunk and has never been on the car.  The paint looks excellent, there are a couple places it was touched up from June bugs hitting the car on the hood, one scratch on the side and one small door ding in the rear passenger panel otherwise paint is beautiful.  The car is a joy to behold and to drive and is the quietest convertible I’ve ever driven and I’ve owned many in my lifetime.  I searched quite a long time to find this vehicle and saw many during my search.  No smells but a wonderful scent of leather once inside.  Car has never been smoked in and ashtray and lighter unused.  There are no issues with this vehicle and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere.  Auto-climate control and the coldest A/C I’ve ever owned.  Auto Seats, Mirrors and in-dash cassette with 6-cd changer in the boot.  The original Phone from Jaguar is still in the armrest.  The color is Sapphire with Light Ivory Leather.  Convertible top is a matching dark navy blue.  I drive the car daily approximately 12 miles each way from my home in Miami to my office in Aventura, Florida.  The car has a clean title.  Please feel free to ask lots of questions, I'm happy to answer you or photograph anything in particular you'd like to see.

Jaguar Land Rover to skip 2016 Detroit Auto Show

Mon, Nov 23 2015

Jaguar Land Rover won't attend the 2016 Detroit Auto Show in January because the automaker will shift its focus to other international shows instead, the company confirmed to Autoblog. "Following a review of our global consumer engagement program, the decision has been made not to exhibit at the Detroit show in 2016," said a company spokesperson told Autoblog. The story was first reported by Automotive News. JLR will continue to attend other US auto shows in Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles; plus those abroad in Geneva, Frankfurt, Paris, Beijing, and Shanghai. "We recognize that the Detroit show is a world-class Tier 1 auto show, however, we have had to make this decision to sharpen our focus as indicated," the spokesperson said. Detroit Auto Show PR Manager Max Muncey told Autoblog that the organizers already knew JLR wouldn't be there. "We are in discussions with other automakers to fill that spot," he said about using the open space. The show expects 70 percent of the floor plan in 2016 to be different from last year. The automaker used the 2015 Detroit Auto Show to announce diesel versions for several models, and it revealed the name for the Jaguar F-Pace there. JLR reportedly now has a plan to cut the equivalent of $6.8 billion in costs without firing workers and increase production to a million annual deliveries by the end of the decade. Related Video:

Jaguar XF Sportbrake teased in Wimbledon promotion

Tue, Apr 25 2017

Until this moment, we'd only seen spy photos of the Jaguar XF Sportbrake. Now we get our first official look at the long-roof Jaguar with the above teaser photo. Pleasantly, this isn't an image of the car in shadows, but rather in full light. It happens to be a bird's-eye-view image, so there isn't much we can tell about the car aside from confirming it is indeed a wagon. That's not to say we can't tell anything, though. Close examination of the tail reveals that Jaguar has opted for more conventional, body-colored D-pillars. This is a contrast to the previous XF Sportbrake that featured piano black D-pillar panels that were reminiscent of the ones on the XJ flagship sedan. Another interesting detail is that glass roof. There don't appear to be any seams along it, indicating that this is one massive, fixed panel. Odds are an opening variant is available, but that version probably won't have the same unbroken view of the sky. This content is hosted by a third party. We also get one other teaser of the XF Sportbrake via a video in which Ian Callum talks about lines with the head groundskeeper of Wimbledon. Apparently Jaguar is providing cars for this year's tennis tournament, so some kind of marketing tie-in was inevitable. The video is pretty much what you would expect, with Callum saying flowery things about different kinds of lines and the lines on Jaguars. But at the very end, a silhouette of the XF Sportbrake is shown on the Wimbledon center court. It doesn't show much, but it is something. You can check it out for yourself at the end of the video above. In addition to these teasers, Jaguar announced that the car will be available later this year. No regions were announced, but don't hold your breath for the US market. The previous version was never offered here, and now Jaguar has the American-friendly F-Pace crossover to satiate Jaguar buyers needing more cargo space. So we don't see much of a case for bringing it here. That being said, we would certainly be happy if it came to the States. Related Video:

The first Jaguar Project 7 is the new kid in Harry's Garage

Sat, Jan 2 2016

The Jaguar Project 7 is more than just an F-Type with a dab more power and a special body, and Harry Metcalfe (who advises Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations, which built the car) is here to show us why. This limited-production model is something truly special, and despite Metcalfe's role with JLR it's hard to misinterpret the enjoyment in his eyes when the supercharged V8 roars. Metcalfe's Project 7 is number one of just 250 cars built and wears a British Racing Green body with orange accents around the nose, mirrors, brake calipers, and underneath the rear spoiler – classic sports car style with a little modern flash. His example is also special because the entire build team signed the area underneath the trunk lid. While the engine comes up to temperature during his drive, Metcalfe shows that the Project 7 can be a fine grand tourer, and he eventually puts the throttle down to let his audience here the sublime engine. Metcalfe claims the limited edition Jag actually has too much horsepower but he means that in the best way possible. Driving it reminds him of being behind the wheel of his Pagani Zonda – a fine compliment for a grand tourer to be compared to an ultra-exotic supercar Find out why by taking a ride with Harry.
