1997 Jaguar Xk8 Base Convertible 2-door 4.0l on 2040-cars
Upland, California, United States
Lots of pictures below This sexy XK8 is ready to drive away. It runs and drives great, and everything works. Under 83,000 miles. Body is excellent, interior is very good. Great color combination for a sports car, Arrest-Me (Carnival) Red with Cream interior. Chrome wheels are excellent. Kumho tires have less than 1000 miles on them. The suspension is very tight, no clinks, clanks, creaks, cracks, thunks or thuds when you hit a bump. Transmission is very smooth, as is the engine. No leaks. Timing chain tensioners were replaced in 2009 at about 67,000 miles, along with lots of other work. I have a receipt ($8500) that will go with the car. It has an aftermarket front grill. It looks great, but if you don't like it, it is held on by a few screws. It also has an aftermarket rear spoiler. I like it, but if you don't it is held on by double sided tape. Should be easy to remove. It comes with 2 keys, and 2 remotes. No manuals, but you can download them for free online. If you have any questions or would like to see pictures of anything I didn't include, just let me know. I can help with domestic or international shipping, at your expense, of course. The car is available for inspection, but by appointment. I'm not always around. Payment: If you want to take the car immediately, I require cash or wire transfer. If you want to wait for it to clear, I will take a cashier's check. The bank can hold a cashier's check for up to 10 business days. A $500 deposit is required within 48 hours after the end of the auction. You can use paypal. California residents must add 8% Sales Tax to the final purchase amount. Reserve is very reasonable for this car. Please don't ask me what it is. Let's just say it's way lower than the repair bill mentioned above. This car is sold AS-IS

Jaguar offers best glimpse yet at new F-Pace [w/video]
Fri, Sep 4 2015The upcoming new Jaguar F-Pace crossover promises to be both fast and comfortable, but its reveal has been somewhat slow and painful. Fortunately it'll all come to a close soon when Jaguar finally takes the wraps off the finished product at the Frankfurt Motor Show less than two weeks from now. But before it does, it's offering us one more glimpse at its forthcoming debut crossover. Though once satisfied leaving the high-riders to its sister brand Land Rover, Jaguar declared its intention to get into the crossover market when it presented the C-X17 at the Frankfurt show two years ago. We've since seen the concept rehashed in different colors, more spy shots of prototypes undergoing testing than we could shake an aluminum stick at, and even more teaser images and videos – including some barely wearing any camouflage at all. But this is out best look at it yet. And with it, the British automaker confirms that the crossover will hit US showrooms next Spring. The production F-Pace is pictured above and at the end of the video below in S trim, production spec, and in profile ahead of its global debut. And looking at it side by side with the concept, it's clear that Jaguar has kept faithful to the original design. The side vent has been reshaped, the rear haunch smoothed out, the roofline appears to slope a little more, and some minor details have been rethought. But otherwise it's a dead ringer, at least as far as we can tell so far. Even the wheel design is strikingly similar. But we'll reserve final judgement for when we see it up close, personal, and from all the angles upon its debut – though we don't doubt we'll see a bit more of it between now and then. Jaguar turns down offers to join V8 Supercars, questions AMG, Volvo participation
Thu, 27 Jun 2013Rumors have swirled in recent weeks that Jaguar may be the next manufacturer to join the V8 Supercars racing series, made popular in Australia but now well-known in other parts of the world as well. Sadly, Jag's participation is not to be. In fact, it would be "insane," according to Jaguar Land Rover Asia Pacific Managing Director David Blackhall, for it to accept either of the two offers it has received to bring Jaguar into V8 Supercars.
Not only is Jaguar not interested in entering V8 Supercars, says Blackhall, it also fails to understand the recent entries from AMG and Volvo. "I don't know what it does for AMG to get flogged by a V8 Commodore week after week, but it's their brand, their issue. And the same thing will happen to Volvo to be honest."
Judging by Blackhall's statements to motoring.com.au, after not-so-serious consideration, the automaker decided the monetary commitment it would take to compete for wins would be more than any potential exposure would be worth, despite the fact that Jaguar has a 5.0-liter V8 to go along with what would seem to be a tailor-made rear-wheel-drive chassis. For what it's worth, one offer would have had Jaguar putting its name across an engine made by someone else, an option that was flatly turned down.
Jaguar launches new classic racing series
Fri, 14 Nov 2014One-make racing series have become all the rage for customers who want to actually race their exotic sports cars (or competition-spec versions of them, anyway). Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Aston Martin all offer such programs, and Porsche supports several. Now Jaguar is getting in on the action as well, but instead of turning one of its production models - we're looking at you, F-Type - into a spec racer, it's launching an historic racing series instead.
The 2015 Jaguar Heritage Challenge will be open to cars made by the Leaping Cat marque before 1966, including the C-Type, D-Type, E-Type and Mk I and MkII sedans. The series, which builds on the success of the previous Jaguar E-Type Challenge, will be administered by the Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC) based at Silverstone and will include four races in the UK and one in Europe, with the exact schedule still to be determined.
The program was announced at the launch of the Jaguar Heritage Driving Experience, where Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations director John Edwards was also named chairman of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, replacing former Jaguar managing director Mike O'Driscoll who chaired the organization for the past five years.
