Jaguar C-X17 resurfaces in China with gold finish, five-seat cabin [w/video]

Some concept cars make the rounds of the auto shows and are then retired. But a number of automakers are showing that a fresh coat of paint can go a long way towards rejuvenating a show car and giving it a new lease on life - at least as far as the auto show circuit is concerned. Lexus did that recently with the LF-LC concept, initially unveiling it in red at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, then repainting it a dark shade of blue for the subsequent shows in Australia and LA. Mini did the same with the Rocketman concept. And now Jaguar has done it again with its C-X17.
Initially unveiled in electric blue at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Jaguar then rolled the crossover out again in liquid silver for the Dubai Motor Show earlier this month. Now the concept is back again at the Guangzhou Motor Show in China with a fresh coat of rose gold.
Looking decidedly more luxurious than the previous iterations, this gilded C-X17 concept also bears another change: while the previous versions featured a four-seat cabin, this one has been redone with a more conventional five-seat configuration that more buyers would likely go for. It's also got a new interactive infotainment system and another system that warns passengers of pedestrians or cyclists approaching from the rear before they open the door. Jaguar rolls out 2014 XJ updates

It may be an uphill battle with Mercedes-Benz having rolled out its all-new S-Class, but in an effort to entice more customers towards its flagship sedan, Jaguar has announced a series of enhancements for the XJ.
A number of upgrades aim to make the long-wheelbase model that much more accommodating, with new airline-style rear seats that recline, massage and optimize the headroom in the back. The rear suspension has also been recalibrated for comfort, and there's a new optional Meridian sound system with a Conversation Assist feature that uses microphones in the headliner to pick up occupants' voices and pipe them through the speakers to support the art of conversation in motion.
The engine range carries over unchanged, but each engine is now mated to an eight-speed automatic with an available stop/start system which Jaguar says takes less time to restart the engine than it takes for the driver to move his or her right foot from brake to gas. Jaguar's first-ever Super Bowl ad to feature F-Type Coupe

Patrons of this year's Los Angeles Auto Show will be able to get their first glimpse at the new Jaguar F-Type Coupe, but the new hardtop sports car will be shown off to an even greater audience in early February. No, we aren't talking about the Chicago Auto Show - we're referring to the Super Bowl. Jaguar will debut its first-ever Super Bowl ad during the second half of the big game on February 2, 2014, and the sleek new F-Type Coupe will be the star.
According to Jaguar, the ad campaign will pose the question, "Have you ever noticed how in Hollywood movies, all the villains are played by Brits?" And for all you social media mavens out there, Jaguar will launch a specific hashtag to go with this marketing: #GoodToBeBad.
British director Tom Hooper is responsible for the ad, which is being filmed in London. Americans will get their first glimpse at the campaign this weekend in the first spot, called Disruptor, but the big F-Type Coupe spot will not air until Super Bowl XLVIII in February.
