Beautiful triple black 1995 Jaguar XJS Convertible.  Black Paint, Black convertible top and Black leather interior.  90k original miles with clean Carfax.

Exterior:

Beautiful black paint, straight as can be as shown in the photos.  Detailed nicely, this color combination makes this an impressive vehicle.  Minor flaws include a scuff on the right front bumper, scuffs on the front spoiler under the bumper, a minor scratch on the hood near the hood badge.  I took photos of all the flaws.  The top, which otherwise is excellent has a 1" tear above the driver's window.  As shown in the photos, I glued a patch to keep it from getting worse.  I have not priced out a new top, but I believe you can buy one reasonably on ebay.

I love the wheels on the 1995 models and these are chromed, making them look even better.  New Pirelli tires all around as well.

Interior:

The original black leather interior has held up very well.  Some minor wear on the driver seat back, other than that excellent.  Carpets are also in excellent shape.  Top headliner is excellent, dash excellent, all wood bezels are excellent.  Door trim panels are excellent, all controls work properly including:  power seat, top and windows, gauges, clock, heater and a/c controls.  Included with the car are the original manuals, top boot (shown in photos), cover for upholstery for when top is down, and factory tools.  Have only one key with the remote fob.  I will probably at least get a second key for the new owner.

Mechanical:

Runs excellent on freeway or local.  As stated before, new tires, also have new premium battery.    No funny noises or rattles.  Handles excellent and has plenty of power.  Just passed California Smog test if that matters to anybody.

These cars are just coming into their own as far as collectors - they have become more rare - compared to an SL or other similar models.

Clean California title in hand.  Make me an offer!!!!

Happy to help with shipping both domestic and international.

Feel free to call me at 904-553-8355 or email me through ebay.

$250 non refundable deposit upon successful bid and you can have time to inspect or set up transport.

Just had an inquiry about the top replacement - good original-style tops are going for the $300 range.  Installation would be extra.

Jaguar XKSS tipped to be next continuation model

Mon, Feb 9 2015

After the Jaguar F-Type Project Seven, Range Rover Sport SVR, and run of six continuation Lightweight E-Types, the Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations (SVO) division is plotting its next historic resurrection, and there's a chance it could be the Jaguar XKSS. That's the word from SVO head John Edwards to Dutch outlet Autovisie, but we need to emphasize the word "could," because the XKSS is one of about four finalists - a "major contender" - among a long list of 65 ideas for the Special Operations to devote itself to. Edwards said that SVO projects need to have some kind of story behind them, a qualification the XKSS doesn't lack. In the 1950s Jaguar raced the D-Type to three Le Mans wins among its list of victories, but retired as a factory team at the end of 1955. When Jaguar decided to turn 25 unused D-Type chassis' into road-going cars, the XKSS was created. The company built the 25, but a fire at the Browns Lane factory destroyed nine of them. It is those nine that will be in the continuation run, should the XKSS get the nod. Jaguar has already sold the six E-Type Lightweight models, each one for more a million pounds ($1.52M US). The XKSS could undoubtedly command even more, with its legendary roots; the 1956 model that Steve McQueen bought for $5,000 (and Jay Leno recently drove) is said to be worth thirty million. We have to think that even if the XKSS isn't chosen right now, it will certainly get the green light at some point. Jaguar Land Rover building new R&D center for hybrids, EVs, autonomous cars

Wed, 25 Sep 2013

The success of Jaguar Land Rover in recent years has largely been down to a resurgent product lineup, but a recent move into the research and development will see the British-based, Indian-owned brands take the fight to its German rivals more aggressively than ever before.
JLR is investing 50 million pounds ($80,345,000, as of this writing) in a joint R&D center in central England. The move will more than triple its staff dedicated to research, from 150 to 500, with Wolfgang Epple, JLR's Director of Research and Technology telling Automotive News Europe, "In order to play among the big animals in automotive and to be anchored in the mind of customers you have to have offered something unique, to be first in market. We want to be one of the key premier automotive manufacturers."
Jaguar Land Rover's 50-million-pound contribution represents more than half of the 94-million-pound tab, on the so-called National Automotive Innovation Campus. Based at Warwick University, Tata's European Technical Center, Warwick Manufacturing Group and the Higher Education Funding Council, an agency of the British government, are all chipping in for the facility.

Stolen Jaguar E-Type reunited with owner after 46 years

Mon, 22 Sep 2014

Barely six months into owning it, Ivan Schneider had his Jaguar E-Type stolen from outside of his Manhattan apartment in 1968. Now, 46 years later, the somewhat beat-up convertible has been recovered just before it was about to be shipped to a new owner in The Netherlands.
US Customs agents at the Port of Los Angeles found the car during a routine check, and they contacted Schneider to arrange returning it to him. When the feds found it, the E-Type was already in a shipping container ready to go to its new owner. The condition is hardly perfect today, including rough paint and a replacement door, but Schneider is ecstatic to get his classic back.
Understandably, the now 82-year-old never thought he would see his droptop Jaguar again. Schneider told the LA Times that he bought the E-Type for $5,000 after winning a case as a lawyer, and it was originally painted gray. Now, he plans to have to have the vintage convertible restored to its former glory in New York.
