1994 Jaguar Xjs Base Convertible 2-door 4.0l on 2040-cars
Palm Springs, California, United States
Here is an opportunity to acquire a beautiful Jaguar XJS Convertible in lovely colors of Oyster Metallic over Doeskin leather with Chocolate Brown canvas top and top boot. This three-owner car has been enthusiast driven and well maintained, with low mileage and main dealer servicing.
The new-for-1994 AJ16 4.0liter inline 6-cylinder engine offers all the silky power you expect in a Jaguar while delivering surprisingly reasonable fuel consumption. This Jaguar is comfortable and is perfect for both cruising around town as well as enjoying on country roads and open highways for long weekends or summer vacation travel. The ample, deep trunk space will accommodate all the luggage you might need for your journey and you'll enjoy at your choice the sounds of the 6-disc CD changer, the smooth hum of the engine or with the top down, the rush of wind. The car runs well, the transmission is responsive in normal or sport mode, the brakes give confidence in use. The A/C blows cold and all windows work as they should. Faults? Yes there are a few. The power seat controls work perfectly on both driver's and passenger seats, but the driver's power lumbar adjustment is non-operative. The central locking and alarm system are working, but cannot be set from either of the two original fobs and the door lock slot must be used instead. The panel fit is excellent, as per the original build, with even gaps and no dings on the body. There is a small ding in the grille surround trim which must be pointed out to notice. All the lenses are clear and unmarked. This is a 20-year old car which will still turn heads whether parked on the street or rolling down the road. It is as much a pleasure to drive as to look at, a true thoroughbred grand touring car. All it requires is you behind the wheel! |

Chris Harris finds the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe rather drifty
Wed, 26 Mar 2014Our own Matt Davis may have called the new Jaguar F-Type R Coupe "one heady rascal," but our review was disappointingly short on drifting, tire smoke and general, English shenanigans. You know, the sort of things that Chris Harris from Drive excels at.
Actually, relative to Harris' other reviews, this one is rather serious. There's a good recap of the F-Type on the road, with Harris referencing the car's "great bottom" and "amazing ass," quite frequently. Surprisingly, Harris says the more powerful F-Type R is just "incrementally" faster than the 495-horsepower F-Type V8 S Convertible. Following the on-road portion, it's off to the track. You can probably predict what goes on there. Overall, aside from some quibbles, Harris has nothing but praise for the newest cat.

Are you the soon-to-be-revealed Jaguar CUV concept?
Fri, 06 Sep 2013Following the teaser of the Jaguar CX-17 Concept released last weekend, the first official image of the Jaguar crossover concept appears to have hit the Internet ahead of its introduction at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Assuming this is the real deal, the tall, upright front end removes any doubt that this is anything but a preview for the upcoming Jaguar crossover, which will likely be called either the XQ or the Q-Series. Reports suggest that Jag's first-ever CUV is likely to go into production in 2016, and it will bring with it the option for a Jaguar-developed four-cylinder engine replacing the current mills still sourced from former parent Ford.
